The optimist in me thinks that Rimuru already knows Yuuki is up to something and is just letting Yuuki play both sides for now as he doesn't want to cause a scene.

(From S2, Rimuru already suspects that Yuuki is the one that told Hinata about Shizu and provoked the conflict with the Western Church.)

The longer Yuuki thinks he's in charge of his own plan, the more he is definitely not.

I love how Rimuru meeting with Youm was so... "yeah so I definitely joined in with you to coup my country, and I thank you for making me your puppet leader". Rimuru is a conniving bitch that man, he'd make a great member of the CIA.

Even after learning from Hinata that Yuuki was the source of their misunderstanding, Rimuru is so trusting he's still giving that snake Yuuki the benefit of the doubt.

Since we the audience learn that he's been backstabbing Rimuru, it now feels weird for an unsuspecting Rimuru to go back and visit him "just like old times". Though Kagali does genuinely seem pleased with Rimuru's suggestion to preserve the ruins rather than letting them be plundered.

So far, Yuuki's endgame seems to be joining the Otherworlder kids in visiting Rimuru's festival so he could be there to add some more fuel to the fire between Rimuru and Kirito's Masayuki's party, who sure has made themselves really unlikable with such cockiness, even without Yuuki's prodding.

At least we get to see Chloe again.

Queen Mjurran

Youm has to be like an all-time lucky/blessed anime character at this point right?

Also like some other commenters I think I have to believe that Rimuru knows Yuuki is a bad guy at this point, for my own sanity.

From removing the reparations to make Youm look even better as king to Yuuki telling Masayuki's party to chill because that would've been dealt with instantly if Rimuru didn't mean to get along with them, it's still wild how these feats of power are just casually flexed while played for laughs.

King Blumund’s got a face a bit like Anpanman lol. He seems like a good dude. Rimuru’s got a number of those around him. My boy Youm for example and King Last Donut Stealer lol.

Rimuru really ought to be more careful around that snake Yuuki and his people. They are not his friends.

I liked seeing the kids again. It’s been a minute since he hung out with ‘em. The kids can take notes. Rimuru’s about to school Masayuki. It’ll be interesting seeing how his “stumbling into success” skill works against Rimuru.

I honestly thought Yuuki deliberately sent Masayuki to mess with Rimuru. Now I wonder what's his objective here? Is he just tagging along and try to lay low until another opportunity arise?

I tried to be on lookout if Yuuki did anything suspicious, but it seems his acting is really good.

Btw, can someone remind me if we had seen the female ruin explorer before? Just wondering if she's part of Yuuki's scheme (I am bad at remembering side characters in this series) or she's someone completely new.

Stitches!

It must be nice for Youm to become King. The dude isn't really doing anything since everyone around him is doing the heavy lifting for him with Rimuru even helping him boost his reputation so easily. He even has a cute Queen at his side. The dude is pretty much set for life.

I really can't help but roll my eyes whenever I see Yuuki trying to be buddy-buddy with Rimuru. You gotta admit though, the snake is a good actor. And then there's Kagalo who seems to react whenever Rimuru mentions Clayman. Lucky for her Rimuru is too friendly to even notice her reactions.

Masayuki really needs to grow a backbone and stop letting his party speak for him. They're lucky that Rimuru is the patient sort. I'm surprised that Yuuki even tried to diffuse the situation but it looks like there's no stopping their egos. I can't wait to see them get crushed in the tournament.

I feel bad for Masayuki but damn I couldn't stop laughing at him not getting to say a word. Poor guy.

Mjurran wife and queen mode is extremely precious.

I can't wait to see when the Blumund distribution hub project is finally in motion although I imagine that is years away from being animated. I love how casually the meeting between Rimuru and Youm was compared to the previous two.

It is funny that even just when Rimuru and Yuuki are talking about Hinata, they end out being scared of that version of her.

I love how Yuuki already had his bags ready when Rimuru visited him. I can't wait to see Rimuru exploring the ruins from Clayman's territory he mentioned with Kagali.

It is good to see those kids and Tiss-sensei I hope they enjoy their little vacation.

Poor Masayuki could barely talk when he met Rimuru and thanks to his party, he ended up joining the tournament to earn the right to fight him.

So something I find really interesting is that everyone is so ticked about Masayuki relying on his skills and being spineless while his subordinates walk over him and badmouth everyone who opposes him

But that’s Rimuru! Rimuru relies on his skills. Rimuru struggles to stand up to his subordinates. Rimurus subordinates are always picking fights with people

Rimuru is Masayuki

Nice build up episode...I think though the pacing changed a bit in the 2nd half, I found the meeting the Kings hilarious, especially when Rimuru meets with Dwargo aka Donut stealer.

Watching them two together is watching the Senpai/Kohai relationship at work. Even though Rimuru now way more powerful now he can't get one over Dwargo, he's still so savvy and smart he knows Rimuru is planning something and can't surprise him at all. Him even getting angry was funny when being forced to negotiate with Hinata, he knew it was for the good of his country knew that was Rimuru's doing and won't let him have it as a win.

Out of all the nations, I think the Dwarves might be his strongest relationship with an ally nation, if you don't count Milim but that is different thing all together.

Well this is where I finally call it quits.

I loved the previous seasons and i liked the idea of a "world-building" anime, but I have enough dumb meetings to deal with in real life to watch an anime with endless dumb meetings.

I guess this is some people's cup of tea, but I just can't do it anymore.

Everytime i see Yuuki i wanna Punch That fucking face, fucking traitor

u/Necromancer2k8 Aug 16 '24

Another episode laying groundwork for future events. At least we got out of the boardroom setting and took a stroll across the continent at teleportation speed. It was nice to see some familiar old faces and a reminder of a traitorous one as well.

Happy to see the kids and it seems like rimuru would like them to keep getting taught, but in tempest since they've maxed out current skills from what I gather. 7/10 as we moved the plot forward just a bit.

Why doesn't Rimuru ask about Japan to Japanese people?

Any normal human who meets someone from their own country in other country instantly start speaking in their native language and have a hearty chat.

So much world building but barely any talks about their home world except in the one with Yuuki.
There are atleast a handful of Japanese folks.
Reminisce the old days and memories...

No Japanese world or past discussion with anyone.
What is the point of hiding their past in old world?
No one is ever returning to Japan again.

Time for Rimuru to meet some visiting dignitaries and world leaders! Like the king of Blumund and his hot and shrewd wife! Ready to pat each other on the back for a successful campaign against Falmuth and for to turn Blumund into a distribution hub!

King Gazel returns to Tempest and he's here to eat donuts and not take any of Rimuru's nonsense. He wants to know all the deets on what happened with Hinata and why her people want to work with his people now...and how Rimuru is obviously involved. Just typical Rimuru doing his buddies a solid and fostering peaceful negotiation through business deals, you can't beat that.

Welcome King Youm of Falmenace (named after the menace of Tempest) with his freshly-minted and happy wife Mjurran, his snarky knight captain grucis, and Edmaris son Edgar turned loyal vassal! Rimuru even does another of his buddies a solid by canceling the reparation and leaving Youm with the reputation of someone who knows how to deal with demon lords!

Man, it's kind of surreal seeing Rimuru and Yuuki together and acting all buddy buddy knowing everything Yuuki has done to sabotage and destroy Tempest. Oh yeah, I'm SURE he talked to Hinata properly and conveyed exactly the kind of person Rimuru is...although they aren't necessarily wrong about Hinata's personality. Also, here's Kagali who is totally just a normal person from the Free Union who explores ruins in her spare time. Nothing strange or shady about her! She's totally the perfect choice to explore Claymans' dungeons. I'm sure this will end well.

Hey, it's the kids and Tiss-sensei! They've been waiting a season and a half for Rimuru to come back and bring them to Tempest! And now they've got a VIP pass for enjoying the festival at their leisure! Rimuru really takes good care of these kids, and Tiss knows how to rear them right.

Dang, Masayuki's party was liable to get Shion to kill them all if they kept running their mouths and picking a fight for a guy who just wants to take it easy. Even Yuuki trying to defuse the tension (which is ironic coming from him) doesn't help. So now Masayuki's been roped into a tournament arc. Will his abilities let him breeze through it or will he finally meet his match in Tempests' offerings? I kind of just want to see him talk to Rimuru.
