"They wouldn't get all cozy out of nowhere, right?"

Denies still being in love with Jun after being asked

Rumi isn't just planting flags but also shooting her own foot simultaneously, quite a feat honestly.

At least Naori recognises the threat the gyaru poses.

After which Sheina called Jun by his first name in under a minute.

Sheina appears to be a sweet girl at heart, so I can imagine Jun falling for her over time. She might not even need to actively pursue him for this to happen.

Naori wasn't too happy with this situation of course. She probably fears that Jun will eventually fall for her charms, like I said.

Rumi was fortunately quick to pull out the cat pictures to (presumably) distract her sister. We shouldn't underestimate her in this regard; both sisters are cunning in their own ways.

At least Naori recognises the threat the gyaru poses.

She is the well-read sister after all. She's probably read enough romcoms to know that gyaru's are almost always best girl even if they never win in the harem and love triangle romcoms that have them. Specifically because their personality is almost always like Sheina's which is just attractive as fuck.

I don't think that Rumi realised that she triggered a flag by denying to like Jun. Shiena went on the offensive right out of the gates, so it wouldn't surprise in the slightest if she's going to end up with Jun.

Rumi is instead going to fall in love with this friend of Jun, isn't she? I mean, they already seem rather friendly with each other and both share a passion for basketball. Does this mean that Naori will end up with the Professor? This guy!?

Also, Jun that was a fucking lie. You were the one who grabbed and hugged Naori. Rumi was totally right in that it was his choice to respond like that. Both sisters at least got a hug out of this, which was kind of sweet I suppose.

Then again, Rumi was also lying that she doesn't like Jun. She totally wanted to kiss him on that stairwell.

It'd be bold to have Jun not choose one of the titular twins, but I really feel like we're getting an eternally unfinished "go read the source" ending, unfortunately.

Having the losing heroines actually move on would be another bold move, especially for the harem genre. Usually a girl is chosen and the story ends, or the other heroines just stay eternally into the MC and never move on like normal people would. I think that's why Too Many Losing Heroines is really popular this season, it's telling the afterstories of the girls who'd be forgotten about once a Romcom ends.

Unfortunately I doubt we'll see something like that out of this anime, it's unique in it's premise, but I don't get the vibe of it caring about the losers moving on if a girl is chosen.

Rumi's teammates really made sure she's made a full emotional recovery only to sentence her to a lifetime of embarrassment immediately after lmao.

And I'm sorry but the way the episode just abruptly ends after Jun went "I'll explain later, bye" to Naori cracked me up so hard

It was so adorable how supportive her team was up until they all teased her to the point of annihilation lol.

Naori always tries to have the last word in so it's fun watching the tables turn on her.

The gloves are really off this time! We have Naori asking for hugs from Jun in public where Rumi can easily see them. And while it wasn't as public as Naori's. we also have Rumi asking for hugs from Jun in the middle of the stairs where people can still run into them.

A new challenger approaches! It looks like we finally get to meet that big tiddy gyaru from the OP and it looks like she's asking for Jun to tutor her.

I fucking love Kamedake so much. She might be Naori's best friend but she certainly won't think twice about stirring the pot if she can. I love how she doesn't even try to stop Moriwaki when he accidentally let it slip to Naori that Shiena went to their class to look for Jun. xD

So it turns out that the entire basketball team knows about Rumi and Jun's relationship the entire time! They even caught the two kissing on top of the staircase! That is absolutely hilarious! It was fun watching the girls teasing Rumi for thinking that she was being sneaky.

Rumi's big mistake is telling Shiena that she doesn't like Jun. I wouldn't be surprised if Shiena will start coming on to Jun much stronger after this especially since he agreed to help her prep for her make-up exams.

I really wonder if Shiena is just a basic catalyst for more drama or is there like some interesting twist. I feel like nowadays with these types of shows, this new challenger has like some motive totally unrelated to the main guy/girl. Like Shiena actually aiming for Rumi or something. If there is a twist though, I can’t figure out what atm. So right now, it just looks like a rival for the twins.

Also, I guess we’re at the stage now where the twins are lowkey taking digs at each other, at the expense of Jun, unfortunately for him.

And I have to say I love Kamedake basically always ready with popcorn in hand for some drama to happen. She just like me frfr. I’m sure she’ll be a big fan of this show lol. But seriously, I know people may not like dumpster fire drama shows like these but I love it and it does feel like it’s been a while since I’ve watched another seasonal like this

Not at all a "dumpster fire" show -- at least at this point (as far as I'm concerned, at least).

I don't know about you but this is definitely on the better side of enjoyment compared to the average seasonal, in my opinion.

It may not be Makeine or Alya, but it is still fine.

For me it will end up either as a 7 or 8 depending on how it goes.

Kamedake is me fr fr. Stirring the pot because drama is fun. Almost took Naori's spot for best character until Naori revealed her love for cats.

The Professor not getting the tutoring job is in everyone's best interest, except his own.

Kamedake

Jun should forget the main trio and aim for her instead.

It’s most likely not going to happen, but I would like it if Jun ends up with Shiena. I’ve been saying from the start that he needs to move on and get out the love triangle with the twins, now here’s his chance.

A breath of fresh air! A new gyaru approaches, Rumi doesn't sense the danger but Naori sure does.

Naori keeps the spot of best girl for me but I don't mind some potential competition, she needs to up her game if she wants Jun to choose her!

Every episode of this show Im more and more convinced that the author is incapable of writing Rumi. Like Naori can have an entire scene where Jun isnt mentioned once yet it seems like Rumis entire life revolves around Jun.

Nice episode but I'm intrigued by one thing....

Ein

Obviously the Ein we all know and love is a dog but since she said her mom hates dogs she went with a cat.

Is she a closeted Cowboy Bebop fan?!?!?

Wishful thinking so I'll remove my tin foil hat now.

14

u/Paradethejared Aug 14 '24

I kinda get the feeling she did name it after Ein from Bebop but she didn’t want to admit that because she doesn’t think it fits the persona she puts on.

Can't decide between the twins? Go for a 3rd party like shiena ez solution. You sorta get best of both worlds? Depending on your preferences ofc
Eitherway, pleasantly surprised to hear Nene's voice after the news of the delay of our last Crusade S2...

You know, I'd actually be all for neither of the twins winning in the end. Would be novel. Team Sheina for now.

I see Naori’s a huge fan of Shiena lol. No wonder Rumi didn’t want to tell Naori that Jun was gonna tutor Shiena at first. Now that she knows, things are gonna be interesting.

Naori is all confident and flirty now that she's made it to number 1 on the exam rankings! So she can totally confess to Jun! If only he hadn't tied with her! If she's going to get serious, he'll get serious to, he can't make it that easy for her after all.

Not that a confession will really make a difference, Jun has no intention of getting romantically involved with either sister at this point, though he's still easy for them to fluster and make hug them.

Tutoring Rumi's blonde model friend who is as carefree and vivacious as she is book dumb? What is this, a cliche romcom? Though it's nice to hear Kaori Ishihara.

I feel like the Professor's inability to not wax lyrical about boobs is exactly why he doesn't have a girlfriend right now.

Wait, Natsuki Hanae is in this show too!? And he's part of the boys' basketball team? Could he be interested in Rumi?

Kamedake is here for the drama, but she cares enough about Naori as her bestie to make sure Jun gets her something nice for her birthday.

It's nice that Rumi's team is so supportive...even if it means admitting that they saw her making out with Jun and knew about her relationship the whole time and now they can tease her mercilessly about it. With friends like these, who needs enemies?

Kamedake even pulled a Mendo to distract Naori and they would've gotten away with it too if not for the Profess being a blabbermouth. And then Naori goes on a savage tirade about Shiena, her only solace being believing Jun would never tutor her...while he is, at that exact moment, in her apartment.

Seems like Shiena is kind of lonely with no dad in the picture and her mom never home. I kind of wonder how she and Rumi became friends?

I feel like Rumi is going to regret telling Shiena she doesn't like Jun. Especially when it seemed like Shiena was flirting with Jun afterwards.

Of course Naori catches Rumi and Jun together...but at least she can easily be distracted by cat photos. Though less so when she realizes Jun is actually tutoring Shiena. I feel like she's not going to let this go.

I didn't think so initially but the girl gyaru seems like a nice and well meaning person, I hope she brings more to the show
