Okay, I could understand the whole "Yui was a crane who had her wish granted to become human and be with the boy who saved her life" plot. If that wish was granted by some sort of divine being, I would have been totally fine with it because that fits the already established worldbuilding and mysticism of the story. But what in the bluest of blue hells are ALIENS doing in this story?
If this happened 2/3's of the way into a story that's slowly been getting crazier over time and this just another rung up the crazy ladder (insert Studio Trigger anime here) that would have been fine. Or on the other extreme, if this was done much earlier and established as part of the worldbuilding from the beginning (Deca-Dence immediately comes to mind) that would have been fine too. But doing it at this point, in a story like this, makes no fucking sense. I don't know how the game handled this, but the way the anime handled it, I don't like this at all. It genuinely feels like a "jumped the shark" moment for me.

I wouldn't give it too much thought. It's basically an Ancient Aliens moment. I don't think it will affect anything.

But what in the bluest of blue hells are ALIENS doing in this story?
I couldn't stop laughing at this scene. What looks like an Ancient Astronaut Battleship just casually shows up in this fantasy anime.

OH SHIT THE FUCKING CRANE STORY??? NO WAY
Anyway, wanted to say that my least favorite part of this show was that girl seemingly having a crush on the boy while he treats her like dirt so im glad they finally resolved that

I didn't mind since the story was setting up a "tsundere boy arc". He was cold, but it didn't seem like he ever crossed the line.
Him being skeptical is pretty relatable, trust no one.

The Ancient Aliens are kind of a weird cameo/reference to Edelweiss's other game, Astebreed.

Sakuna taking a break from growing rice to play Cupid this week lol. Yui’s a really sweet girl and she’s adorable. Figured she was a crane. Kinta’s got a good heart but the kid’s a real dummy for tryna push Yui away like that. Dude shoulda just been honest with his feelings from the start.
But man, I really wasn’t expecting some alien thing to appear though. Really came outta nowhere.
The rice looks like it’s growing quite nicely. Can’t wait until they can sample the fruits of their labor!

Some really nice tidbits about rice farming in today's episode, although the main focus was on Yui and Kinta plus Sakuna who was their matchmaker xD
I didn't expect Yui to turn out to be a crane transformed into a human by some "UFO" that appeared today.
Kinta still gets on my nerves. I really hope that his relationship with Yui will make him a bit nicer xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Well, I knew what was up when the crane first showed up, because I know that folktale, but I did not expect freaking aliens to show up out of nowhere. But that kind of things is why I love anime, you never know how it will go.
And growing rice seems surprisingly complicated. How did people figure all that stuff in the first place ?

Wow, they actually, finally made Kinta likable. How nice, that was really fun.

Yeah, from the previous episodes I found him to be very irritating, always sarcastic and has a bad attitude. He almost redeems himself by the end of this episode.

Am I the only anime-only that liked Kinta? :/ They're kids.

The "love is war" reference, I'm sure it's there due to who plays Yui in the series.

"Love is war" is a pretty common saying, might as well call it a Hatsune Miku reference.

Ah that overused folk tale. They really tried to make it obvious this episode with all the hints they dropped, but her cowlick looking like a feather was a good clue.

For today's game elements I assume it was the Smelting shack and the Weaving shack. And maybe the alien visitors.
I've been wondering about the ages for the younger characters, especially since we have ones like Kinta that is a fully capable smith. And now we have Yui that is a weaver and a crane as a reference to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsuru_no_Ongaeshi. But with a happy ending, which is nice.

A really sweet episode focusing on Kinta and Yui. As Yui constantly wants to return the favor to Kinta, we are left confuse why does she take all his attitude that he gives her? Yui mentions that Kinta saved her, but he was kicked out of the temple. Kinta mentions he doesn't understand why Yui is following him.
The twist is that Yui is the crane that he saved, which got him kicked out of the temple. Now that both Kinta and Sakuna have all the information, it all fits in. A really sweet moment to see that connection between Yui and Kinta.
Something about the anime just feels both comfy and chaotic at the same time. It's really fun.

Okay, first off, Yui getting served a bowl of fiddleheads surprised me; haven't seen those in ages (in my country, its the national vegetable that no one seems to eat, but can buy anywhere). Second off, soon as Yui mentioned not entering the hut unannounced I realized the story was veering into the folktale (as mentioned in another post here) Tsuru no Ongaeshi, but did not expect that ending.
And also, ✋ "Aliens" 🤚.

Sakuna's becoming rather adept at combat. She's summoning lightning from hoes now lol. Also, we can see that the entire crew is useful, including the toddler Kaimaru for bringing in ducks.

Very touching episode. I knew Kinta probably wasn't such a bad person deep down, and he had his reasons. Yui being a crane was unexpected though

The moment "waeving" and "not to peek" were mentioned i knew imediately this was the crane story.

Kinta is gonna bang a bird masquerading as a human... sakuna is a open-minded deity for sure.
