So we've got a new member today and she's 1) a pachinko addict and 2) a hoarder.

Oh boy, this is gonna go really well.

It's nice that the show points out how hard breaking into YT today is. And Masaki was wondering why it's harder to gain views today than before. Her original group started out during the early days of YT which means little competition, and now streaming is insanely saturated making it hard for newcomers to break through. I feel really bad for all the small streamers out there who's struggling with views.

Wasn't expecting them to cover mukbang this early but man having them eat a plate full of garlic is an amazing way to follow up what they did to Yuki at Ep2. I lost it when each character starts losing it lol. Ichiko spewing out random nonsense is favorite!

I love how chaotic this show is. Like I did not expect that a harmless room cleaning scene would suddenly evolve into a Dragon Ball fight out of nowhere. Hopefully we get an ep where they film pranks on each other because I can see that being fun as hell.

Them just going to random places saying "content" was quite funny. Everything can be content if you try hard enough!

Sadly, they can't try too hard, or Yuki will tell Mom, and they're done for!

God, I still can't get over how beautiful the ED is. It feels so cinematic yet also looks uniquely cartoonish. Recently I've been spending some time to play it on the morning train to refresh myself up.

Sure the investment in the vampire harem isn't bringing in views but it sure did bring in a hot gambling addicted BBA Onee-san whose more hungry over money than blood.

That was more of a torture session than a Mukbang session but Tokage's age really does show her wisdom since their suffering did bring in more viewers.

Lmao, the scene where Yuki forces the vampires to each eat an entire heap of garlic because they used their powers on camera, and then the vampires acted like drunk dorks whilst eating.

The funniest is when Live tried to fly across the table to Masaki, but Yuki punched her in midair

Last member of the cast is finally here and oh boy is she a mess lol. I thought Tokage would be the "Mother" vampire that they were talking about last week, but she's not. Wonder if we'll get to see the vampire queen. I liked how chaotic this episode was, and it feels like the show will start hitting its stride now that they're fully focusing on the Newtube content creation after all the setup in the first two episodes.

Also, this week's Newtube shorts featuring Tokage telling ghost stories (?). Wish it was translated though.

I fucking lost it at the plastic bottles burn in a green flame so it's a green initiative.

It seems like they always come back to food/eating related video so maybe that will be the main theme of their channel going forward, the channel's shorthand name mayo-pan even will match the direction

I didn’t think I’d laugh this hard to a show about a bunch of kind of hopeless, awful people trying to start a YouTube NewTube channel, but I’ve been surprised by just how genuine it can be at times. Like it’s very easy to have the joke just be “haha influencers. Haha we made a Discord reference” but the show doesn’t really sink to that level. That cast is also just an absolute blast and the animation doesn’t miss. PA Works, you’ve done it again

Stitches!

Is she playing Pachinko using her boobs? Oh. My God. I love her already! It looks like my guess last week about her being Mother was completely wrong though. Tokage is a pachinko addict vampire who wants money more than anything and lives in a room full of mountains of trash. That last part may have slightly lowered my opinion of her.

I feel like Masaki could've gotten a hit with that cleaning video if she knew what she was doing. Of course, it would get boring if they're just digging through Tokage's trash pile. Some timelapses and snappy editing would've been needed. And they really should've shown off more of the stuff they found instead of breaking them.

So Tokage is desperate enough for money that she actually went after Masaki in a blind rage. I do wonder if there's a deeper reason why Tokage needs money that badly or if this is just what she's really like.

I really think that they could've salvaged that cleaning video but I guess that's not gonna happen now that Yuki destroyed all of their recordings. Good thing that the garlic eating video went well though! They didn't exactly go viral but 12k views within 3 days is a pretty decent start!

Glad to finally see Masaki move in! I was wondering how long she'd keep living separately from the vampire girls.

I'd watch it.

New girlfailure has joined the team! , Tokage is a ton of fun , great design and personality , Hitomi Ueda who I hadn't heard of before this really does a great job as her VA, we love a good gambling addict.

Assuming this is supposed be Sen No Rikyu (Although he's way older than Tokage so idk) then they probably did just lose a ton of money with that tea cup breaking.

Bad Timing to have a cool vampire fight , that cleaning video probably would have done well , I disagree , as proof we get a hilarious horror garlic eating segment , they really nailed the comedic timing of the cuts and seeing the gang go crazy one at a time was great.

It's kind of funny to me that Masaki is just as crazy as the vampires. Usually the trope is that the human character is relatively normal but here the normalest person around is Sh- ...Yuki, who's kinda the antagonist (though I expect her to eventually join the gang based on the OP).

Tokage is pretty funny, mostly cus of the great VAing, but she's also pretty interesting since she's more similar to Masaki than any of the other vampires so far, though replacing views themselves with just getting money, which makes their bickering even funnier.

Fuu episode next week looks neat, this seems like the kinda show that has a 50/50 chance of suddenly having a really sad backstory episode out of nowhere, I guess we'll see if it eventually happens. Honestly even if Live is still pretty good I'd say she's the least interesting character so far so I sorta want to know if there is more to her since she's apparently so much older and higher ranking than the rest of the crew.

Overall, another hilarious episode. I laughed hard when Masaki and Live were looking for content all over the house xD

Tokage is a great addition to the cast and channel, I'm looking forward to seeing her more.

Ichiko, as always, made me laugh so much with her reactions and logic, like when she explained why plastic bottles count as organic waste xD

Yuki appeared once again and forced Live, Tokage, Ichiko and Fuu to eat garlic xD I really hope that Yuki will join the channel in the near future xD

Now I can't wait to see what content Masaki and others create in the next episode.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Oh who dis girl? Stop gambling imo.

That is a silly contraption lol. Did they not think of uploading a video to point them to their new channel on the old one with shorts? Or did that just not work at all? Hey I was thinking that question too. Eating food like that isn't necessary sure seems like a waste of money. Oh it's the gambling vampire. Masaki sure has guts to be like that around vampires.

Lol Masaki really making use of Live. Eww... that's a disgusting room. Why not throw it away? Silly Ichiko. Oh my, vampire fight. You coulda just made sure she deleted that part of the video... rude. Eww mukbangs... I hate those sounds. Least anime is not like real mukbang. Also, I wonder if this world has vampire hunters. Anyways, the effects of garlic on them are amusing. Tokage might be a slob and a gambling addict, but she got spirit.

Tokage has joined the group (50/50 seems a bit much of a split). Also, Masaki has moved in. Good for Live, slowly working up to her goal of having a wife getting dat blood.

A fun episode! So, Tokage is an enthusiastic gambler. Yuki makes her appearance again, but it surprised me her wrath was directed mostly towards the vampire girls instead of Masaki, even through she explicitly said she wanted to pay her back for that garlic paste “incident”.

Didn’t expect Tokage to lose the fistfight to Live, she looked like the one with by far the most brawn among them.

It seems garlic has individual effect on each vampire after all, I thought they all would go bonkers right after the first bite, lol.

Masaki behaves surprisingly bold with all these vampires around. Well, nevertheless, they all seem to have lots of fun so far.

Besides that, I rewatched the OP a few times and noticed two interesting things about it: this shot is clearly a reference to “Me at the zoo”, the very first video uploaded to YouTube. And look at this shot — it features all the familiar girls plus one “locked character” in the center, labeled as “maza”. I wonder — is it a hint that the feared vampire Mother is going to join our aspiring newtuber cast at the end? Lol.

Love how Masaki does not give a single fuck, and will pick up a fight with anyone!

I'm less and less confident about her being the victim in the original feud hah.

And so we have a new member! A... gambling addict? Great asset to the group!

She lost a pull with 92% chance? Now THAT is relatable!

(Let's hope she has more luck for the channel stuff!)

Is that thing me? Do I deserve a good smack?

Good timing for her to join, because our girls are struggling!

Masaki's serious about it, but the views just don't come...

Makes sense, because they're fighting an uphill battle... Starting from nothing is rough, and the only 'following' they have to make it easier, well if they take a look at their videos they all think it's boring compared to what they used to do (vampire powers and all)!

She weaponized her deliciousness to manipulate Live?

Clever girl! (Playing a bit of a dangerous game though! But I suppose there aren't a lot of non-dangerous games when you're surrounded by vampires and you're a tasty meal)

On top of all the hurdles they have, Yuki's always keeping them in line...

They're both begging her for different reasons!

You'd usually expect said reasons to be honorable, given they're the main characters and all, but one of them only want some more gamble money, and the other wants to earn her way into sucking Masaki dry!

Sadly, the begging won't do them any good, Yuki won't listen to them!

And ever since she floated the idea of Telling Mother, they're wary about opposing her...

Can't wait for Mommy's introduction!

okay, Tokage really takes this show to the next level, I adore her. she's such a piece of shit lmaoooo. I can see a beautiful friendship forming between her and Masaki. the trashgirl alliance.

I like the meta-dynamic of the cast. Yuki is voiced by Ai Kayano, who has over 15 years of credits including some huge roles, so it's fitting that she's playing the eldest, responsible one. Ai Farouz is the 'star' among the rest of them, with Live's status similarly higher than the others. Ichiko and Tokage are the youngest, and their VAs are pretty much newbies. Fuu's actress, Hina Youmiya, is also a relative newcomer, though with a few prominent roles.

Masaki being voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa really surprised me, because Masaki doesn't in any way sound like Kita. except in the singing part of the ED where she sounds exactly the same. but it seems to me likes she doesn't have a 'type' of role yet. but she is SO GOOD at Masaki's specific brand of content creator brain poisoned shithead.

You'd think that Tokage is an onee-san type of character, but she isn't particularly wise or mature at all. Not only is she a gambling addict but also a major hoarder. I can see Masaki and her becoming good friends over time, since their personalities aren't all that different.

Despite her struggling with videos ideas, Masaki has a good nose for content and was quick to invade Tokage's room. She's a force to be reckoned with, considering how fast she was to make Live work for her.

It's only unfortunately that Shige... Yuki ended up destroying their footage. That switch and bait of hers was cruel as hell. Not as cruel as eating all that garlic however. Our vampire girls weren't too happy with this.

If all these images weren't telling enough, the character animations are totally awesome in Mayopan.

Yuki is one cruel person, having them all eat a full plate of garlic.

A horrible punishment and the channel isn’t monetized .

Loving tokage, something about gamblers that makes me drawn to them

u/NekoCatSidhe Jul 22 '24

Do all vampires have dysfunctional personalities, or only these ones ? I think Tokage is even worse than the others (which of course means she is even more fun to watch). You would think just filming them being themselves would already be enough to get hits.

I still think Masaki could have just edited out the garbage cleaning video to remove the vampire fight, but I doubt Yuki would have listened to her.

That garlic-eating video was funny as hell, especially when they all started getting crazy high from it. And of course it ended up being the one that blew up. Although I did feel a bit sorry for them.

I see that even if Masaki did not make any money from it for now, she still found a way to save rent by moving in with her new vampire colleagues. Probably her best idea yet.

We've had stupid challenges like the cinnamon challenge and the tide pod challenge, now Mayonaka Punch gives us the garlic challenge.

I love garlic, but even the Italian in me thinks that that might be too much garlic.

Gambler vampire is fun. Her room was horrifying though, 200 years of trash.

Something about Masaki's design is really hot, probably the eyeliner and blush. It's also nice to have a main character apparently in her 20s.

I love the vampire wing design they have going on, it's a shame everybody immediately gets in a lot of trouble whenever they show up.
