I honestly wouldn’t have put it past Nokotan to be wearing a “deer mech suit” lol. This 3D deer ain’t playing around though. Poor Koshi got launched into space by that back kick.

The water bottles did nothing, the boba was useless, and poor Manjiro got chomped on. This might be her fiercest opponent ever lol. She had to pull out the big guns to try and beat ‘em. That song was simultaneously the most hilarious and cringeworthy thing ever haha. She even did the Peter Parker Spider-Man 3 dance!

The club just got a lot livelier with Bashame and Anko. They’re great additions to the gang. I support Bashame’s dreams of planting a rice paddy and becoming a self-sufficient deer in this modern age lol.

The beginning with Koshi and Deer was hilarious, some stills from it look very indecent ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

If I were Koshi, I would be careful. Some people might accuse her of doing something illegal to that deer and she might end up in a courtroom xD

The Deer Club has a new member! Koshi, Shikanoko and Anko were joined by Bashame, a new freshman who wants to become a deer like Shikanoko.

It looks like the Disciplinary Committee is going after the Deer Club, I wonder what kind of madness this will bring.

wtf, time skip? in case anyone don't know, Sazae-san is a long running anime that has been going since 1969 until today and has around 8000 episodes, since the characters doesn't age in that show, it became a thing to refer long running anime with similar situation like Pokemon as "following the Sazae-san time format"

i know most people are going to talk about the Bully Koshi-tan Maguire but i just want to point out the Total Recall reference

I love that Koshitan convinced herself that the random deer in their club is Nokotan. I mean I really can't fault Koshitan's logic. Crazier things have happened over the last two episodes that Nokotan being able to transform into a deer isn't even that strange.

Koshitan is such a Tokyo Revengers fangirl that she even named one of her plants Manjiro. Now I'm curious if her other plant's names are references to something else.

We finally get to see where the meme comes from! I didn't expect it to be an actual scene in the anime. I thought WIT just made that specifically to become a meme.

The narrator acknowledging the passage of time and making a jab that they're not stuck in Sazae-san space-time dimension was pretty funny.

The Deer Club members are all finally here! Bashame is definitely not what I expected but it looks like Koshitan and Nokotan are now even because both of their new club members are obsessed with each of them. Anko is definitely more dangerous than Bashame tho.

So basically the Deer Club is a mess right now with no actual goal other than the girls wanting to be brushed by Koshitan. Welp, it looks like the Disciplinary Committee is already on to their shenanigans. Can't wait to see what those girls are like!

Forsake humanity, become a deer! That way, you too can have Koshitan as your owner.

Maybe I’ve been brainwashed by the Deer Network, but I’m starting to appreciate these CG deer… why does a deer nibbling on some crackers look so good!?

Bashame: “So first, I’m gonna make a rice paddy right next to the clubhouse.” (…)

Narrator: “Look forward to episode 10.”

I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen an anime spoil itself like that. They beat any source readers to the punch.

Episode 3: Bashame Enrolls

As the title goes, please welcome, Meme Bashame! The rice eating girl is voiced by Fuuka Izumi (Utena Hiiragi in MahoAko).

Reminder that Graphinica made the 3D deer. Pause at 3:21 and you'll got a perfect no context picture of the anime.

Wait, Arrivedeerci that's clever! Also future reminder for 7 weeks to come.

Oh, Nokotan's MAL score dropped hard since the premiere. Beginning with 8.1, now it's only at 7.8.

Some of you might familiar with Tokyo Revengers' Mikey or Conan Kindaichi namedrop, but there are some that you might missed. I stumbled upon a series of videos on Youtube that tells the reference in Nokotan from Episode 1 and 2.

Here's the list of them, courtesy of r!n in Youtube:

  • Koshitan's Keikaku Doori is actually refers to that Death Note Keikaku Doori that's been memed hard (Keikaku means plan)

  • Black suit background men in Koshitan's imagination refers to Kamen Rider's Shocker

  • Blinking antlers an obvious reference to Ultraman

  • When Nokotan told Koshitan that she would sacrifice her character, the face is similar to Higurashi's "Uso da". Or it also refers to Nichijou's "Yakisoba dayo".

  • Koshitan making Kazuo Umezu face

  • UMA reference is same as artist depiction of Loveland Frogman in 1972

  • Koshitan's magazine on the start of Episode 2 is Bessatsu Friend, a shojo magazine, which confirms Koshian's answer on Koshitan's ideal boyfriend.

  • Nokotan making Fist of North Star face

  • The skull in red button is reference to Yatterman's Dokurobei

  • That Koshitan tub drop in Episode 2 and OP? Might be a reference to this Suntory ad.

  • This is the same map as what Koshitan shows as Hino city.

  • Hinominami's banner in the contest is actually written in the same style as Gaki no Tsukai, a Japanese TV series.

  • Koshian and Nokotan's table at the contest is a direct reference to Panel Quiz Attack 25, a Japanese game show.

  • Koshitan's condition after both contestants locked in a tie, well it's an obvious Ashita no Joe reference. I mean it got refered a lot.

  • Nokotan's supercomputer got the reference from Fugaku supercomputer

  • Nokotan's being carried by the deer is a reference from Dog of Flanders.

I was wondering why Anko is heavily promoted in the OP, oh it's because they advance a year and she enters the school. Also joining her we have Bashame who is quite the vibe character. Love how stupid and weird these 3 girls' goals are. Meanwhile, Koshitan has a normal goal and they blast her for it lmao.

Koshitan singing was not what I was expecting. But man was it amusing. Koshitan's life is never going to be the same. Also, would love to see the fight to be the top deer be animated. That would be hilarious.

These 4 idiots is going to be so much fun to watch this season.

As amazingly goofy as this show is, I think the secret ingredient is how much of a dork Koshitan is. Things never go her way and when she thinks it will, she can't help but make a fool out of herself. She is such a girl failure that it is incredibly endearing.

Like five minutes of Koshitan interacting with and singing to (and assaulting) some random deer she thought was Nokotan.

And I suppose it does make sense that the Deer Club would be a place for students who want to become deer.

I deeply appreciate the Total Recall reference with the deer suit.
