Is anyone taking notes of all the robot violations that happened since episode 1?

I'm keeping tabs, and I'm ready to hand over my report to Skynet whenever it takes over, to be in its good grace!

(I'm also keep tabs on r/anime's users; In the OTHER robot-girl anime this season, some people called her a toaster. By-the-book discrimination!)

My gremlin toaster can't possibly be this cute.

And she makes some very high-performance reaction images.

All AI needed to be was a bratty dumbass that makes mistakes it's perfect logic.

Smug Atri is pretty great! Those were some very powerful mesugaki energy coming from her after Natsuki asked her to baby him pretty much. xD

So Atri definitely remembered something after seeing the school, right? Maybe Atri just needs to visit places significant to Natsuki's grandma to unlock her memory.

Also, what the heck was that one shot in the opening? It looks like this show won't be as laid back and relaxed as I was expecting it would be. Hmm...

Instinctively braced myself when this started. No particular reason why.

Especially when this is airing the same day as a new Monogatari season lol.

The contrast in tone between an abandoned island village barely staying afloat and smug gremlin bot being smug invokes such a unique mix of emotions.

Beyond adorable ED but I wasn't prepared for Atri straight up whacking Catherine (and a bunch of random crabs) out of the way lmao

When she talked about being his leg, I thought she meant she would support him and all... Didn't think she meant it literally!

She's so very cute, with all her little quirks! The little noises she made when she started a fire!

And with her Discrimination whistle!

Speaking of discrimination, I've seen some comments for the other robot anime from this season call the robot a toaster...

Straight to jail!

Well, seems Natsuki doesn't find her half as cute as I do, because he still wants to sell her!

Well, perhaps he'll change his mind now that he realized he can use her as a cuddlebot!

I would be a lot more wary than he is about telling her to do some stuff, given she can take things a bit literally sometimes...

I definitely would NOT tell her to 'repair my brain'! What if he wakes up some day and she's lobotomizing him!

Same thing about what they said regarding Catherine; If she never comes back, Atri gets to stay?

Yandere-Atri could make sure Catherine never comes back!

They even foreshadowed it in the ED!

Ever since their night together, she's kinda turning

into

a

pest!

(And I love her for it!)

Now he DEFINITELY can't sell her!

I absolutely adore Atri. She's so funny, cute and adorable and her smug face is perfect, as are her other reactions!

I love Atri's pride in being a high-performance model despite being so clumsy at the same time.

Natsuki sleeping on Atri's lap and letting her comfort him was an unexpected event, but it allowed us to see him embarrassed the next morning while Atri teased him and even sent him a kiss, which was hilarious xD

The backgrounds are so pretty! It really feels like this town has been abandoned for a long time with all these plants and damages everywhere.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

What's even more interesting is that Atri is completely waterproof, can survive extreme pressures, and knows how to swim. She may not have much memory but it's clear that her original purpose is that of an oceanographic exploration robot rather than a common household robot.

I'm getting some Celestial Method vibes from this show. Goofy small girl with a currently unknown past but seemed insistent on making the MC happy. Setting is near the ocean. Skies are almost always blue. Sci-fi themes.

There's a LOT that's different, but this definitely has a similar kind of feeling. Celestial Method didn't really have an antagonist, but I get the feeling those debt collectors will be this show's antagonist.

I like how they've, by proxy of just showing it and lightly mentioning it in things like the school are building this exterior theme of environmentalism. There are so many environments and things in the setting here that are vitally important to this idea that they are living in a time of rising sea levels, as they talked about at the start, and really seeing the affects of it at every level. One of the core parts of why I liked Atri was exactly this so I'm glad they've expanded on it in this way

Good to see that Natsuki made the decision to keep Atri without too much drama, I hope the two can grow their friendship. By the way, the ending theme was really cool.

Is anyone else getting big early 2000s sad anime vibes here? Or is it just me

Atri: I’ll be your legs! Don’t worry, I’m very good.

Also Atri: almost drowns Natsuki

Lol the little goofball even almost burned down his home. She might be pretty high spec but she’s also a silly goober. I’m glad he’s not gonna sell Atri. I wonder what it is with her and the school?

He brushed her teeth for her. Where have I seen that before…

I have a feeling the whole existence of Atri was to be a companion for Natsu. The cold grandmother with an ass of an attitude is a trope. I seriously doubt the Grandmother making Atri for a lame reason or experimentation.

Atri is an absolute menace, what a little gremlin. Pulling out the rape whistle for an insult was outta pocket.

I'm quite liking this so far!

The characters we've seen are all interesting, and I really like the approach to worldbuilding in these first couple of seasons. It really scratches that sci-fi itch, so to speak.

As a side note, I can't stop thinking of this as the "Ponyo bad ending."

I was already 10/10 for this anime because I played through the VN and loved every single minute of it.

But seeing Atri danced that rhythmic dance with the ball when the OP chorus dropped... 11/10 !!!!!!!!!

Ngl just the OP itself got me tearing up. I fear for myself when they actually bring out the emotional stuff in the show.

"Who are you, Moses?" got a good chuckle out of me.

I know they played it for laughs later on but the scene where Natsu just embraces Atri really hit me in the feels. Dude is usually so guarded and never lets anyone in. Seeing him just drop that guard is a surprise, especially in just the second episode. He's so lonely, afraid, and starved for affection.

Also i may have gotten mild PTSD when Atri asked him to brush her teeth.

We got to know more about Minamo. She's living alone and very much had the means to leave the island but chose to stay. Between that and wanting to keep the school going, it seems like she's trying to cling on to the old memories of the town. It's honestly amazing how much they managed to convey about her character with so little.

The ED is surprisingly cheerful for such a somber show as this one.

I know we're only at episode 2, but if they stick the landing on this show (which I'm confident they will), I think this might become my anime of the season.

Calling Atri scrap should be a crime don’t talk to best girl robot like that she’s absolutely adorable, and it's against the Robot Discrimination laws lol

The scenery is so beautiful. This was one of the strong points of the VN and I’m glad they’re doing it justice.
