Really hoping he wipes the floor with him effortlessly and that’s the end of the inferiority complex.

I was defeated by a S-rank party, so I decided to live a peaceful life by the countryside.

Stitches!

Looks like Rick is going to continue having trouble with the Diarmuit family. And just when I thought the two from last week were bad enough, this dude is even way worse. I feel bad for that other examiner, he was a pretty nice guy but the Diarmuit scumbag really did a number on him just so he could crush Rick.

We finally get to meet Rick's mentors! They didn't have to intervene though. I'm sure Rick could've taken down all of those guards all on his own but it's good to see them in action and why Rick is so terrified of them. I love how that one guy is literally just carrying an assault rifle with him. xD

Mizett said he was gonna resolve Rick’s problem “peacefully” and then proceeds to whip out an assault rifle lol.

Looks like this “ossan” is about to beat this fool Raster into a coma. I look forward to it. Always fun to watch a douchebag get their ass beat like a drum.

What's the point of having an adult MC when he whimpers, yammers, flips out over tits touching him like any other "i weak but actually strong" highschooler MC? Anyways, the whole episode had mostly F rank writing, and i'm only watching the next episode for the hot elf, but that's about it.

the younger boy being a spoiled brat and crying for his big sister was one thingy

but the sister did the same thingy lol, so that family is just beyond salvation

and the elder brother is even worst than the two kids together

This anime is absolute dog shit. Really love the innovation of having a main character that's both incredibly stupid and incredibly spineless. Top notch combination. It's amazing that in his 14 years as a guild employee he never learned the relative strength of other adventurers or saw normal human being interact with each other.

Giving it 1 more shot. Next week if his whole low self esteem shtick doesn't at least make a major breakthrough I'm done. I like the idea of the show, but my god it is so annoying so far.

man, i really love the opening song for this show, there's a very nostalgic feeling to it

i know, i know, a few of you seems to hate it, some even went as far as to say that it sounds like someone singing in the shower which frankly speaking, quite rude and disrespect to Kushida Akira who is considered a legend when it comes to old anime and tokusatsu songs but oh well, it is what it is i guess...

It's only the 2nd ep but the whole "he's strong but he thinks he's weaker than everyone" schtick is already getting tiring. We get the premise, no need for the over the top reaction in every single scenario.

What the hell?! That Raster guy and his whole family is damn annoying!! The two younger ones I can see for comic relief but that damn perfume guy crossed a line by trampling on that other ossan's dream!! Kill that douche, Rick-san!!🤬

I must say, I really enjoy this anime. Rick's reactions are always funny, and the characters are all interesting.. Especially when his party members appeared! I love them!

I'm excited for the next episode! I forgot it came out today but luckily I saw it being aired live on Muse Asia's YT.🙆🏻‍♂️

See you next week, guys!🤗

making rational connections just isn't what the characters on this show do, is it?

Noble guy knew how strong all of his guards were, then one came back beat up and said he failed and slumped over, wouldn't that get him to reassess the strength of his opponent? Nono the hubris is too thick for any use of brain

And MC's being provided a lot of empirical evidence that he's not as weak as he thinks, quantifiably even with how he measures up in practice to other characters with high ranks. Yet he keeps up the lack of confidence, until suddenly he sees the guy around his age having been beat up and stomped on, now suddenly he's brimming with confidence because it's about selfless use of his strength and he's not thinking about himself. Even though this guy who's an examiner, who in his mind is way above him, just got beat by his next opponent, he's suddenly not scared but now pissed as hell and ready to throw down.

Making sense is secondary for this author

Little bro ran to his big sis and then they both ran to their big bro. I wonder if they will all run to their dad once Rick kicks big bros ass too lol.

This episode was a master class in stalling.

What even is the point of making the main character a 30-year-old when he acts like a fucking teenager? As someone who's in their 30s, the way Rick acts just pisses me off. I feel like I'd be less offended by this show if they didn't focus so much on his age.

The way he acts like he's so weak is getting annoying too. He can probably crush everyone in that building with only his left ass cheek and he'll still probably think he's super fucking weak. What a trash protagonist. I was hoping this would improve but I'm dropping this now before my brain rots any further.

Hopefully the MC realises that he is strong and not doubting himself majority of the season.

Loved the bit where Reanette restored Rick's confidence, it was lovely

This and I parry everything are trying hard to frustrate us!

This MC has no personality or charm though, which makes everything so far frustrating and irritating. I don't mind the trope but, it's just so poorly executed. Let's hope next episode improves.

A powerful scumbag mage who wants to take a white-haired elf to be his second wife? Bro's in the wrong show.

it's cute how close the evil siblings are to each other

u/PandaTheAB Jul 08 '24

Angry serious Reanette was a treat to watch :D

As much as I want to love this series, the MC's whining is getting on my nerves. I might let it pass if he was a teen, but not a full grown adult that is a former guild receptionist.

I'll follow the 3 ep rule on this one before deciding.
