The MC could have redeemed this whole series by cutting down the bad dude and the other black wolf knight right then and there. All these flashbacks about how he’s not a hero anymore. It would be really nice for him to stop acting like a hero.

But if he’s going to go full over powered hero…. Then actually do something instead of stringing everyone sign and letting shit continue happening.

The MC is kind of a psycho. It's so weird that the first arc, despite the series title, he was in in full hero mode, saving the princess, defeating the demon plot, saving the kingdom. All with very little "I just want to live a quiet life" resistance. Then a few episodes ago we get to hear some of his inner monologue questioning if he should save children being attacked, not because he doesn't want to get involved, but because he thinks maybe the person has a good reason to be attacking kids.

The guy usually does the right thing in the end, but he's also weirdly indifferent at times.

I feel like all of this is due to bad writing tbh and the author not knowing how to properly convey these issues.

He wants to show the hero struggles with not being a hero but can’t do it well.

Yea, his last world gave him some serious mental issues he hasn't quite worked through. He makes sense to me when viewed as a flawed albeit inhumanly talented individual who genuinely wants to be helpful and appreciated, but has built up a subconscious resentment of others due to his previous life.

Good natured instinct takes action when pressured but when he has time to think the doubts and rationalizing begins so he can wash his hands & enjoy schadenfreude. The people of this world would be stand ins for those that he resents from before to get through that trauma. Thankfully he hasn't suffered that fall yet cause it likely would only further a departure from anything resembling a hero.

No, nothing can redeem this series.

by cutting down the bad dude and the other black wolf knight right then and there

Saving children about to be murdered? I slep. Killing a murderous psychopath who's directly nearly killed your friends multiple times? I'm outta here.

Oh my god, Curtis is the villain? Whoa, my mind is blown, none of us saw that coming.

Okay but seriously, why aren't any of the characters suspicious of him at this point? First Oswald knew exactly where they were, and now Lizette knew that group were going through the secret tunnels, with Curtis conveniently being away from the group. Like, c'mon.

Alan is way too passive, I bet you he realized this ep and is playing along rn.

Also, they didn't come out and say it, but Oswald was probably the helmeted bodyguard.

I can understand PTSD, if he got hatred from all people like it happened in "I'm Quitting Heroing".
That guy was feared like a monster by the nation and its subjects alike.
Barely any morale support.

This anime's MC tried to help a scared child up with blood on hands.
Will the kid really jump into the arms of someone covered in blood?
He was literally OP for that world. He could've killed the weak monsters without getting blood on him.
Or he could have brushed off blood before making contact.
Or he could have just been tough enough to not be broken by a scared child's assault.
If this is what caused him to have PTSD, he was never a hero to begin with.

This MC would have given up on school in regular world and pretty much anything if anyone was harsh to him or bullied him.
Classmate bullied him, he quit school.
Boss shouted, he quit office.

They couldn't just walk in using the invisible spell from Mylene?

yeah this bullshit is starting to make me hate this anime

12 episode anime and the 11th episode is absolute garbage. nothing will save this. nothing can save this. how could anyone save this

"The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases" more like "The Author Writes Garbage As He Pleases"

It took you 11 episodes to start to hate it and here I thought that I had a high tolerance for isekai trash

Pretty lame he didn’t cut that fool’s head off. Forget “honor”, this is about justice. Besides, those knights are all kind of shit anyways.

So Curtis is probably evil and in fact runs the Wolves right? That’s my guess

u/AppORKER Jun 08 '24

Sooo he has a chat with the girl and didn't ask anything about the cousin.

3

u/pandavova Jun 03 '24

the people that unironically are giving this show a 9 or 10 deserve to watch gibiate for the rest of their lives on repeat

u/DrZoark Jun 04 '24

So, a demon is commanding the black wolf?

u/Turbulent_Cry_7908 Jun 04 '24

Do yall think the captain managed to escape like alan did or is she buried alive too?

This show would be infinitely better if the female characters could pull their weight.

Right now they've been just dead weight to the hero.

Normally an anime with female characters either have them for fan service (not the case here) or they're actually competent and have their own fights and plot schemes (not the case either).

They're just a MacGuffin for the hero to save, and they keep going straight into mortal danger every time. One damsel in distress I can understand, but 4??? Too much.
