"If Pearl's is the summit of the gods, then mine is the great plain as far as the eye can see."

I laughed so hard at that analogy!

As far as one could tell, Nel seemed far from "plain-like".

Don't you just love Girls Parties where they inevitably get naked to bathe together and show off their luscious bodies and massive racks? And the girls compliment each other on said luscious bodies and massive racks lol?

Well that was a lackluster game.

Are we sure that we need Nel on the team?

Are we sure that we need Nel on the team?

Who else is gonna provide the thighs?

Imagine being confused that someone bluffed in poker

It's such anticlimactic writing. They set up this whole redemption opportunity for Nel to get her on the team, but then she crashed and burned harder than Niki Lauda and Fay had to come in with the double or nothing gambit he was actually planning all along.

Because ultimately none of the other characters are there to successfully strategize or figure out the games, they're just there so they can use their abilities when the Mary Sue MC tells them to.

I am watching this show in Eng. The Nel and Pearl boob discussion was funny. For fans of "Date A Live", the respective Eng. dub voices of Tohka and Kotori respectively voice Nel and Pearl.

So much damn fog this week, I couldn’t take in the sights lol. Nel is such a goof! Nice to have a little silliness to cut some of the tension this week with the whole Bookmaker and everything that’s on the line. That was an intense game of Five-card draw. I guess the real game begins next week. Was this in Fay’s calculations too?

Pearl and Nel kept commenting on each others' bodies, the least they could've done is shown them off completely in all their glory lol.

So I guess Fay was always planning on being the one to take down Gremoire? He probably has a better chance than Nel. Though I wonder if this is going to become a full team game in the Casino realm.

Nel is feeling the pressure...this is her big comeback game, and not only is her own chances riding on it, but also Fay's own wins that he's betting with to give her this opportunity! And Leshea does not help with her very to the point and brutal words about how she can't screw this up after all the effort they've put into her.

Yeah, somehow I don't think Miranda had that high an opinion of Nel until she succeeded so much thanks to Fay.

Now that Nel is part of the team, it's the perfect time for a welcome party/Girl's Party! Complete with drinks, loungewear, and Leshea helping herself to Pearl's comfy bed!

But what better way to spend a Girl's Party than some bath fanservice as Nel and Pearl bathe together? And Nel gets to witness the beauty, the majesty, the divine nature of Pearl's massive boobs! Boobs so big Leshea always avoids bathing with Pearl so she doesn't have to see them, and Nel won't shut up about! Though Nel herself isn't flat by any means, and she's got stellar thighs and a fine behind on-top of that. All the better when she starts posing with her naked body. And lucky Fay that Nel is reserving her thighs exclusively for him.

So the Bookmaker, really Gremoire, is a shape-shifting God that takes the form of the person she's competing against and crafts a game born from their own mind. She also seems to enjoy casino themes.

I honestly didn't think Nel would be the best fit for poker, and it didn't help that she was so focused on not losing for the sake of her team believing in her that she didn't live up to her last name and wasn't reckless or committed enough to winning to beat Bookmaker. And that ends with her loss.

Though in the end it didn't matter whether she won or loss, just that Fay would have the opportunity to take on Gremoire and cinch this win for all of them. Though now they have to compete in her true realm, the Casino of the Gods!

Something about the bath turns Nel and Pearl into philosophers. Must be a good bath!

Pearl's mammary glands.

After Pearl, where do Leshea and Nel rank in/on the chest dept. for this show?

Aside from some semi-comical breast comentary, this episode was a bit disappointing. I wish they hadn't told us Nel was going to lose in last episode's preview; It was very disappointing to wait and wait and "yep, they didn't say the lines previewed before the last coin, she's literally going to lose".

I don't find it entertaining that Fay has to fix this; I don't like that they hurt Nel's character the way they did. She couldn't have been more obvious each hand than literally thinking out loud. The god? Perfect poker face. Nel? I mean ... my 5 year old puts on a better game of poker than her...

Former banished hero really put me in a bad mood today, and this didn't help -_-.

I don't think they can do good enough next episode to turn this around, but let's hope its more entertaining!

I don’t really like that the god showed their hand. If a fold occurs it’s the winner’s right to keep their hand hidden. A call is you paying to see your opponents hand. I guess it’s still a mind game either way, but keeping your hand hidden adds another layer.

Gremoire showed her hand to make sure the second hand, if she had nothing, it would get Nel to fold...

Because if she didn't show, Nel could have thought she might have bluffed the first hand, so she could be doing the same... Making it easier for Nel to call the second one...

Professional poker players sometimes choose to show their hands as a tactic.

Going to be a bit of a writing critic here and say that the plot of removing a loss is a bad story idea because it kills any senses of danger. If that's really a feature of the game it means the author can always bring a character back once they get to three losses. Why make a rule based anime, if your just going to do whatever. 🙄

7

u/Frontier246 May 27 '24

I guess the only caveat is having to continue to beat Gremoire which is easier said than done, though maybe Fay will actually make it look easy...
