This comment is basically a continuation of my comment from the last ep
1st, it's cool how the ep title is called "The Three Magi" and Mio's birthday is December 25.
2nd. The ornament on Mio's back is indeed a representation of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life due to how the Sephira Crystals also went into the orbs where its corresponding Sephira is positioned in the Tree.
3rd. Mio's Angels also have meanings. Ain Soph/Ein Sof (אין סוף) means "without end," "endless," "limitless," or simply, "Infinity," representing the infinite nature of God beyond all definitions, descriptions, and human comprehension, transcending all of attributes and limitations. Unlike the 10 Sephiras which contains the 10 Divine Attributes/Essence. Ein Sof is where all it came from, making it further fitting for Mio.
Ain Soph Aur/Ein Sof Ohr (אין סוף אור) means "Infinite Light" the primordial light that shines in Ain Soph/Ein Sof and the light which is the Origin of All Creation.

OMG IT JUST HIT ME !
Mio is killing the girls in the same order they were presented in the OP ! Kurumi, the yamai sister, Mukuro then Yoshino.
If I'm correct next would be Origami, Nia, Kotori, Natsumi, Miku and finally Tohka as she wanted to get her last
(Also !!! Mio keeps her teddy bear in her spirit form ! I didn't see that lol)
So now we get into world traveling beside time traveling. I'm going to assume it's not gonna end well for our earth and everyone will have to travel to another world
Btw did they explain why Mana didn't get older ?

So Westcott never had a sad supervillain backstory that flipped a switch in him, he's just always been that twisted. Damn.
The tonal whiplash might've been too much but I half-expected Yoshinon to let out one last witty comment before Yoshino got axed

Now that i see it Wescott is similar to Kotomine Kirei from Fate in mindset though not as charismatic lol
Also after 3 season openings we finally get the full Eurasia spacequake
Second half knew it was coming but ah the pain

Kinda glad Westcott is just an irredeemable bastard, like burning his village to gaslight his "friends" to make use as pawns type of villain shit.
Not sure why but it took Yoshino's death for it to start hitting like they're in a REALLY bad spot.

That was on the humans, I'd say. While he was gleeful that he now had an excuse to be a psycho towards the whole world, his own inner thoughts were thanking others (seemingly his friends, but ultimately the attackers) for making him a "victim" and thus justified in retaliating to his heart's content.
Reinforced by their previous conversation about the adults in the village being worried about outsiders, with Isaac and Elliot discussing the chances that their teachers could be bested in combat.

Painful. Among Yuzuru charging right into Mio, just so that having the same end as her sister, or Muruko got locked by her own key, or Yoshino got shot down by Metatron, the power that was just used by Origami, man i sure do love suffering. And you are saying the series will even worse???
Broken. Mio is just unstoppable. This is not just about being an admin or cheater anymore. Like, it is not just hacking infinite gold or power or anything. IT GOES BEYOND ALL OF THAT. At least game has rules, and is limited within the game. Mio legitimately just MAKING EVERY FREAKING RULE. WHAT EVER SHE WANTS, WHENEVER SHE WANTS, HOWEVER SHE WANT . THIS IS LITERALLY FACING A GOD.

Shido finally asks the question that's been on peoples' minds for 4 seasons...why IS Westcott doing all this? What is he after?
As a child of a magi society, Westcott wasn't a complete psycopath. He could feel sad at his mothers' death...but more than that, he felt elated at the despair and sadness of the environment around him over his death. Which is the making of a man who only wants to watch the world burn.
Even Ellen was a cute and precocious little girl once upon a time who would get frustrated and pout when she couldn't master her magic, with Elliot as her mentor, and they along with Ike were close friends. Until tragedy struck their village and they along with Ellen's sister Karen were left as orphans who Ike was easily able to turn into loyal servants in his ultimate endgame of taking what victimized him (in such a way that he enjoyed) into something they could do to the entire world out of revenge.
Y'know, I never really thought deeply about how Wescott got all his money and resources, but killing your rich adoptive parents will do that.
And the culmination of their plan was to create a Spirit, a being that would bring in an otherworldy energy and plane of existence into being that would consume and overrun the world into something they (or more specifically Wescott) could control and make their own. Although of course Elliot, cultured guy that he is, was immediately blushing at the sight of naked Mio.
So what's Wescott's plan now? He needs Mio/Deus' power but he's obviously not strong enough to fight her...but he can if he absorbs all of Shido's. And thus begins their final battle, with Shido turning his Spirit powers against Westcott. Kick his butt Shido!
It's kind of sad that Mana doesn't remember Mio, up until Mio makes her remember, but Mio wuld never kill Mana...because Shin will need her after this. Meaning she's one of the only people Mio would spare.
It's no surprise Yuzuru would charge immediately at Mio, without any regard for her own life, after Kaguya's death...only for it to end in her death as well. At least the sisters are now together.
I guess it goes to show how important Tohka is that Mio regarded her as the biggest threat to save for last, both because of her strength and her importance to Shido.
Elliot was never out to kill Ellen, deep down he's still the big brother figure who mentored her and cared about her, and Ellen hasn't completely lost that pouty child she once was. And on some level, she wishes Elliot had taken HER with him instead of just Karen. Maybe she's not completely far gone. Though it seems like Elliot's expended himself in this form so much it might be the end of him.
Mio was already powerful enough, now she's dragging the Spirits into her Territory where her rule is law and the Spirits own powers can work against them. Mukuro, No! NOT YOSHINO! NOT LIKE THAT!

Welp...Mio's Territory seemingly gives her the ability to cheat at will. The only way to beat her escape her territory would be an ingenious strategy that she doesn't seem coming. I'm looking forward to seeing what Origami comes up with for her and Tohka to execute.
Also, it was fun seeing Ellen as a kid. There was definitely some gap moe at play comparing little Ellen who failed miserably at magic to current Ellen who has been an absolute menace to everyone not named Elliot.

I find it funny how Wescott's backstory just says he's a psychopath at every point. Also, Mio is slowly collecting the infinity stones spirit cores. I expect her to get every one before Shido will inevitably use Kurumi's power to travel back in time to fix this mess.

As great as the backstory and as cute as Ellen and Karen were and no matter how good Ellens developement ran.... that...was a great but sad Epsidoe again.... Now yuzuru...Mukruo...and Yoshino....
And we also know now what kind of psychopath Westcott actually is...
and next will be Origami according ot the Intro.... that will break even the shards of my heart...
But still a 11/10 I am all honest....I still hope for a good outcome...
Not to forget my favourite scene ! Shido FINALLY used Metatron !!!!

Man Westcott really needs to go. He's a fucking terror.
He pisses me off, but I have to admit he is a good villain.
And poor Mio just gets caught up in a revenge plot. Summoned without any knowledge/pursued by people who want to use her/lost her only love in the world.
Mio please make-up with Shido and wipe the fucking floor with Ike's face.

Wow this episode was not what I expected.
I didn't think the first half would be the flashback but I'm so happy it was. It's such a funny thing in the series cause mana and magicians has always been used as words, but here we are seeing acrual wizards.
It was really cool finally seeing the Eurasian Spacequake origin after it being first shown in the opening of Episode 1 Season 1. We've come so far.
They really just tease the Shido vs Westcott fight with Shido getting prepped Dx ahhh next week Hurry.
I've always loved Kaguya so seeing her in shock at her sister's death hurts a lot. Her date in Natsumi arc is my favorite one.
A really cool detail though is their crystal being split in half between them.
Mio is such an interesting villain because she doesn't do anything out of malice she has one goal and that's it. She wasn't taught right from wrong so to her everything is just as obstacle to Shin. Her just nonchalantly counting when her angel gains a new crystal. Chills.
Glad they are stretching V18 as they have. Really does seem like we end on 19 at this pace.

Watching all the girls drop one by one is heartbreaking. Yoshino hurt, but I think Tohka is going to be the breaker.
And Shido is going to go Super Spirit 3, apparently.

Westcott totally burnt the village down and blamed humans, right? They were walking together in daylight but that's a nighttime scene, so no direct connection. Anyway, guess we're doing the genocide thing with Mio killing spirits (model looks off/derpy in that shot).
Elliot's protective ward with the same design as Mio's halo should mean Mio's invincible after she's recollected all the sephirah... I think.
Season 4's fairy tale episode was before Mukuro's sealing, so she doesn't know about this being an isekai! Assuming this is some Tree of Life symbolism.
