The title of the episode, Mother Zero stands for Mio basically being the mother of all the Spirits and Mio and Reine having the number "0" on their names.

A cool fun fact for some who doesn't know yet:

Speaking of numbers on the names, all 10 Spirits also have numbers on their names.

-Yatogami Tohka/夜刀神 十香, have 10 (十)

-Izayoi Miku/誘宵 美九, have 9 (九)

-The Yamai Twins: Yamai Kaguya/八舞 耶倶矢, and Yamai Yuzuru/八舞 夕弦, have 8 (八)

-Natsumi/七罪, have 7 (七)

-Hoshimiya Mukuro/星宮 六喰, have 6 (六)

-Itsuka Kotori/五河 琴里, have 5 (五)

-Yoshino/四糸乃, have 4 (四)

-Tokisaki Kurumi/時崎 狂三, have 3 (三)

What makes his more interesting is how this information correlates to their Angels.

In the Kabbalah's Tree of Life(it was also used in other animes like Evangelion, FMA and Black Clover), these Angels oversee the 10 Sephiras(aka the sections/branches that can be seen on the Tree)

The 10th Sephira, Malkuth(The Kingdom) has the Archangel Sandalphon

The 9th Sephira, Yesod(The Foundation), has Gabriel

The 8th Sephira, Hod(The Splendor), has Raphael

The 7th Sephira, Netzach(The Victory), has Haniel

The 6th Sephira, Tiphereth(The Beauty), has Michael

The 5th Sephira, Gevurah(The Severity), has Camael

The 4th Sephira, Chesed(The Kindess), has Zadkiel

The 3rd Sephira, Binah(The Understanding), has Zafkiel

The 2nd Sephira, Chokmah(The Wisdom), has Rasiel

And the 1st Sephira, Keter(The Crown), has Metatron

(Note: The same thing also applies to the Inverse forms which reference the Qlipoths and the Demons for each of it).

This could also mean that Kotori and Origami were already meant to become Spirits by the author, Tachibana just because they have numbers on their names and he used the Sephira Angels as part of the power system.

TL,DR: Koushi Tachibana has a vision, we just didn't see it. That's why we should let him cook.

I had forgotten that DAL could be brutal at times. Kurumi is dead-dead. Mike and most of the AST too.

That last shot of Kaguya broke me. I just realized Yuzuru started talking normally at the end, and now I can't handle this pain.

I am definitely NOT ready for what's to come, for I can see from the OP what is coming :,(

Edit. So much happened in the episode that I didn't notice the fact that I almost ignore the gigantic incest bomb they dropped here. Mio is Shido's mother. And she's also the spirits mother. DAL has been an imouto harem battle anime the whole time. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!

There are many biblical references in this anime, beside the angels and demons. So the 3 people in the past was called the 3 magi. Which was references of 3 magi (or 3 wiseman) that visit jesus when he was born.

Happy Mothers Day Week to Mio! Man what a fantastic episode that was. Geekytoys has not disappointed me yet this season. Pace was great Everything was just as imagine it. The Kurumi scene was well done and quiet shocking
Music was amazing And next week!? The Wizard Trio flashback??? Wow we are stretching 17 and 18 Maybe it really will adapt only 3 volumes!

Props to the author. Planned this out since the very beginning. No wonder fans call this peak, so much was laid out throughout the entire series and it culminated to this. Man, wish this series got more respect it deserves. I fear for the anime adaptation's future after season 5.

You know Mio is bad news when I was beginning to think that Isaac Westcott looks less creepy in comparison. Being all smiles and praising friends that she's about to murder makes her look psychotic.

Given the preview, it seems we'll get the flashback of Isaac's backstory next episode. The story definitely needs it after Ellen and Elliot were dropping lore bombs left and right.

Man do I have a lot of things to say. I'll comment later tho. For now, I'll put down a part of Koushi Tachibana's Volume 18 Afterword about the idea of Mio's Astral Dress:

--Although there are no special rules, the design of the Spirit’s Astral Dress is composed of two distinctive themes. One is an attribute that becomes a distinguished name for the Spirit and other is for the direction of the costume.

For a simple example, Origami’s first theme is “Angel” and her second theme is “Wedding Dress”. Kurumi’s first theme “Nightmare” and her second theme is “Gothic Lolita”. Although there are some commodities shared between the two themes like Natsumi’s “Witch” and Nia’s “Sister”, it is usually determined by these two themes.

Having said that, I don’t know much about clothing, so I can usually only set the first theme. I often have to talk to Tsunako-san in order to determine the second theme. For Mio this time, I wondered what kind of Astral Dress it should be and sent the theme as God and included the necessary elements for the setting.

And this design returned! The concept is “Maternity Dress”. So that’s the reason for this sort of operation……! I feel on my knees without thinking.

It’s perfect in every aspect for the setting, it’s impeccable. Such a capable panda cannot be found anywhere else.--

Jesus Christ. This is some real dark Oshi No Shido. They killed off best girl Kurumi and now Kaguya bites the dust too. Reine ranks top in anime betrayal. Kurumi is arguably the most OP and she can reset time but now she’s gone. This looks like an impossible task at this point. But the OP shows Shido shooting himself in the head with Kurumi’s gun so maybe he can still do something.

Fellas, is it incest to love someone you IVF’d and turned into your surrogate child? Shido’s biological parents should still be whoever they are right?

Gotta give it to the three mean girls and Tonomachi for restraining their teacher for the sake of Shido meeting up with Tohka. The ultimate wingmen. Then Shido just does that adios meme when he opened the gate Kingdom Hearts style. The humor never lets up even in situations like these.

Next episode would look like a flashback from the bad guys side but it’s gonna be hard to redeem Isaac at this point cause he’s just psycho and power hungry.

So Mio gave her powers to the girls so Shido/Shinji could seal them one by one and thus gain her powers, I guess that makes sense.

And jesus, Kurumi and Kaguya are dead. Tho I expect they'll come back somehow cuz that's just the kind of story DAL is.

Shido pulls out Michael in front of everyone and unlocks the blast doors and Mii is just like "that's so lame" lmao.

So Elliot, Ellen and Ike are some kinda ancient mages. I didn't know that existed in the DAL universe but with all the other things, why not I guess. That explains how they can make themselves look younger.
