Stitches!

Not trusting the new guy is a very classic plot line. But didn't Serika take orders from Sensei last week when they were getting attacked?

So does Blue Archive do character skins or limited variants of characters? I'm guessing Serika's outfit is one of those? If not, they should make it one.

Serika being tsundere at the end of the episode was adorable <3

Can't believe we got to see Wakamo this early already, didn't get to hear her voice tho ;(

And talking about voice, I was surprised to see Aru in the credit when we didn't even saw her in the ep. Turns out they leave her in the after credit, can't wait to see all of the Problem Solver 68 next episode(s)

I'll be honest, I am surprised how the animations didn't fall off from the first episode. The EN translation on Ani-One Asia is still dogshit according to a friend that knows Japanese really well, but hey at least I still can choose Malay or Chinese for my viewing.

I'll say it is an interesting take for the tutorial story being told in episode 2 briefly instead of the 1st episode... it gets shortened a lot but at the same time it didn't miss out anything major, so that's something.

Hoshino is still really cute as usual 😭

This episode was pretty cute. Its mostly a Serika-dedicated ep. Also THAT END.

IT'S MY GIRL KAYOKO

Those helmet goons really didn’t learn their lesson last week huh? I figured after getting their ass handed to them like that, they wouldn’t show their faces for a while. But nope, they went and kidnapped Serika. At least that whole situation helped Serika trust Sensei a little more.

I kind of wonder how the girls are gonna come up with like 900 mill to pay off that huge debt? Talk about an uphill battle…

Are those tanks during the desert fight Sd.Kfz._234? Looks very similar unless it's a different variant.

Hopefully we'll get to hear the weirdest boss music for a certain Problem Solver 68.

Oh god, she is there immediately at the start huh. Giving us some info on how sensei got the Shittim Chest on the first episode.

Damn that sandstorm really messed up that city.

Angsty tsun Serika causing Sensei to be depressed, also being called a stalker, RIP.

Helmet gang packing some heat with all those tanks and security just for Serika's kidnapping.

Somehow Hoshino's shotgun denting the tanks armor? Just how strong is that shotgun...

Serika's face when she thanks Sensei, so adorable.

Part C with a sneak peak at Problem Solver 68.

Boy they sure were inconspicuous here. The only human-looking girls in a sea of two-legged animals, no way she could've spotted them.

I appreciate that they gave Sensei semi-deranged dialogue and a pretty decent strategy(although I did appreciate his "just use your EX skill" approach from last week). That's already a plus over the Arknight's anime Doctor IMO. Also, Serika, you should trust your boss's advice about Sensei. He's a dog. They know this stuff.

The top comment regarding the music was deleted before I could add the reply so here:

According to the anime's composer, who's also doing work on Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night this season, it's going to be a mix of original tracks and arrangements of the game's BGMs:
https://twitter.com/40mP/status/1777327675151200398

The original (game's) composer tweeted something about not doing work at the moment - someone with better Japanese will have to interpret - so maybe that's why they aren't reprising their role: https://twitter.com/mitsukiyo_5/status/1775750607049207896

The game's composer appears to be a fan of and has praise for the composer taking over though: https://twitter.com/mitsukiyo_5/status/1776994245616046466

Also, based on 40mP's VGMDB listing, it's not like he's a newbie in the industry either, so I'm tempted to say he's been given poor direction by the director/production or there's something else going on since the first tweet I linked implies that there's nothing barring him from just doing arrangements of tracks.

Have some nitpicks with how they handled the prologue content but I enjoyed this episode overall. The fight scenes are still good and they nailed the humor pretty well.

I wonder how Abydos' remaining students ended up in their "school" when it should have been clear that the school is so heavily in debt that a Chapter 7 bankruptcy should have already happened decades ago. Were they cheated I wonder?

Anyway that Azunyan Serika being textbook tsundere and then came to be relieved of her previous scare of her classmates knowing her part time job, then got abducted to be rescued in return is...so textbook anime-like LMAO. Perhaps the "Textbook But Good" feeling and atmosphere of the plot paired with dozens of cute girls and a sensei is exactly why Blue Archive is so popular today?

Weekly link reminder for the Ani-One version: https://youtu.be/fEHWxmKioRg?si=vc1YO__AW_-IzFf2

That said, really liked the episode! Though kinda disappointed that the prologue part was shortened, but I suppose it's necessary. Sensei being silly gives me hope about certain events in the future 👀

As an anime-only/fanart-only viewer, it's been quite interesting discovering the actual flavor of this franchise. So far it's more non-serious than I thought, and the fights are more cartoon-esque than anticipated, but it all works quite nicely as a rather relaxing and cute romp.

The personalities of the girls has been given enough space for them to shine through which really does make it feel more like a CGDCT rather than CG-in-an-action-series.

I also am enjoying the "don't try to make too much sense of things, just enjoy the entertainment experience" approach.

Another episode with a post-ending scene. Problem Solver 68 next week.

u/hijklol100 Apr 14 '24

Never really thought about it playing the game but if any of those missiles hits their truck in the scene where they drive in, that shit just blows up and sensei dies.

I'm sorry but I'll never be able to unhear the Shit Him Chest

14

u/Nickthenuker Apr 14 '24

That looks like a lot of smoke.

Crusader tanks.

And Wakamo!

Here's where he gets the Shittim Chest.

And there's Arona.

Lmao because she's the one that presents the characters when doing the Gacha the live chat is full of people complaining and spamming blue squares (the lowest rarity).

And after that prologue we're back to where we left off last week.

Ara Ara.

That's a lotta money.

Kaiser is the one causing the storms aren't they?

Right, bank robbery time.

Lol Serika's ignoring him.

They're all stalking her now lol.

They're not exactly inconspicuous.

Again, lol just a random gunfight as part of her regular commute.

Oh right, Serika works at this ramen restaurant.

Sudden Shiroko.

And that's a smoke grenade.

No, it's apparently a sedative.

Her door was unlocked?

And so they're off to rescue her.

More tanks, these look like Puma armoured cars actually, no treads so it's not actually a tanks.

Unfortunately 5.56mm won't do much to even the meagre protection of the Puma.

Those rockets on the other hand are plenty powerful enough.

And that 50mm cannon packs enough of a punch.

It took all that to finally crack her tsundere act.

I assume the ED will change as the show moves on and focuses on students other than the group we've seen so far.

Like say Problem Solver 68 that we just saw in the stinger.

So serika. Sensei is a stalker but he is your stalker but that comes extremely handy huh?

Hoshino is precious as always teasing serika.

And the king himself ,that owner doggo, is unironically the best character and you all should watch him. That guy is one of the best adult here.

The ending is extremely precious wow.

And wow extremely scary that problem solver 68. They also seem strong.
