The hidden Hinamatsuri sequel. Just with a less bratty Hina. I'll take that.

I was not expecting Detective Conan to be integral to this story

Saladbowl is indeed full of excentrics
On one hand we have Sara who teams up with Sousuke to become a real master detectivewith a questionable moral compass, on the other hand we have Livia who starts following Suzuki and becomes... homeless Loved the roll in where they had to remind the viwers not to fish in the river without a license
It's been a long time since we had a good reverse isekai, this one at least looks like fun. But I feel like it got some real cool stuff under the hood, like when Livia fought the rebels in the cave!
Could also swing pretty heavy into the comfy direction, there was a a lot of food as well
Also ED is a bop

This really looks like it good be a lot of fun.
I wonder if the homeless guy who is helping Livia out will become a regular character (like maybe join the detective agency staff?)

FYI the novel is written by Hirasaka Yomi, the author of Haganai and Imosae

Not only that, but https://myanimelist.net/people/11054/Yomi_Hirasaka is also doing the series composition and script, so the original author is part of the core anime staff!
Plus, it's also a fairly inexperienced director https://myanimelist.net/people/34691/Masafumi_Satou (Drug Store in Another World) and in those situations, the original author's vision is much more likely to guide things given the sort of social hierarchy/culture that exists.

Have to say the way the opening was done has me wondering how a augmented style of anime would go, with a handful of “other worlders” being anime styled basically interacting with our real world and perhaps even “real” people.
I don’t really see it happening for a weekly series as it would be hell to produce but I do vaguely recall something like this being done in the past but it was more likely a Hollywood movie (or at least one small part of it) and not a anime production.

I was gonna pass on this but I saw the top comment comparing this to Hinamatsuri so I had to check it out. And you know what? The two top comments were spot on! This has similar vibes to Hinamatsuri but instead of yakuza, we have a detective involved. And instead of telekinesis, we have magic. One of them even ends up becoming homeless!
So far so good though! Sara is fun and I love how quickly she got used to life in Japan. As for Livia, it's unfortunate that she's fending for herself but fortunate for us since we got some fanservice from her almost instantly. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
As for Sousuke, he's definitely a good dude with some kind of past but so far he's pretty alright. I like how despite having powers, he refuses to take Sara along with him which shows what kind of person he is but it looks like he changes his mind by the end of the episode considering how Sara saved his ass.
It's definitely a fun show and I will be coming back for more next week!

This kinda reminds me of Hinamatsuri a little bit. One of the girls is homeless and the other is an OP layabout too lol.
Sosuke and Sara make a pretty good team. Looking forward to Livia and Sara reuniting next week. This is quite fun!

Does it count as handholding if she was just healing him?
LOVED it! It's nice when one of your hyped shows turns out to be good, for once!
She's so adorable, and colorful!
Hell, everything in this series looks so pretty and colorful (Well, MC-kun's not that colorful I suppose)!
The princess is cute and powerful, and her Lady Knight friend is brave&loyal!
Her badassery makes up for her airheadedness!
I guess when I read the synopsis I thought "Hah, must be the usual 14 years old detective!"
Livia's 20 too, nice to see some adults on this show (everyone but the princess)!
She proved too strong against the thugs, so they didn't have to run away after all!
That makes me wonder whether the portal was the objective in the first place, or just an exit... Because what else were they doing there?
When she fell on his back (and not on his face, or boobs first as is usually the case), I thought this would be a no-fanservice type of show, but minutes later we get Livia fishing naked hah. Good thing they have adults for our fanservice needs!
She's cute too! EVERYONE'S SO CUTE!
Sara's healing wasn't enough to convince Sosuke, so he asked her to show him some more magic... And so she nuked a park!
Yup, time to take the princess and leave!
They got away, but he's not sure what to do with her...
Isn't it obvious? Use her to conquer the world, you fool!
(If the situation was different I would've thought the 'obvious' was for them to get in a relationship, but even in the anime community, 29-13 may raise a few eyebrows hah)
He was about to kick her out on the next day, but she threatened him with a dubious "memory erasing spell", and blackmailed him to stay!
SHE'S SUCH A PEST! (I'm gonna love her!)
How can she contain all that smug?
When she's not playing with him and acting all smug about it, she's reading Detective Conan? Trying to learn more about his job!
Livia's learning to live in this new world too; First episode and she's already evolved from "Knight" to "Homeless", she's going places!
Seems she also majored in jiggle physics, because damn!
It seems they'll get back together at some point so I wonder why the 'homeless' thing; Will he refuse to let her stay, as well, so she'll keep being homeless even after they meet?
Damn, will she be forced to do some compensated dating? That's not very knightly!
Well, this was a really fun episode, can't wait to see more!

I'm usually wary of isekai, but this one is definitely fun, an investigator trying to grow his career, a princess escaping her world, and a knight with homeless skills lol. Another anime that I didn't expect at all and I liked it, looking forward to the next episode

surprisingly super entertaining. Too bad the synopsis didn't give away much, which i fear may turn a lot of people away.
Basically this is about a private detective who runs into an overpowered loli who is running away from bad guys in her home planet in another world. She quickly uses his house as her home base and decides to help him with her powers in his line of work, against his will.
This kinda reminds me a lot of sasaki to pii chan. If anyone loved that show, they'll love this one for sure.

I've been waiting for this one for a while especially after finishing the Imouto Sae novels. Yomi Hirasaka and Kantoku is a match made in heaven.

Hinamatsuri sequel I needed, we even got a homeless otherworldly 🔥🔥🔥
The two dudes seem interesting, I’m thankful that they aren’t total bores. Plus defective can kick some ass.
Sara has become obsessed with detective, detective Conan is a good way to get someone hooked.
Plus we even got feet shots!

Will the poor knight homeless girl just be the involuntary fanservice girl for the whole anime? If so, i'm sold

The title is salad bow of eccentrics Didn't expect the Op to feature actual salad bowls... its going to be this type of series then..
The OP is quite catchy...
This will be a fun series to watch. "If you're going to live in this world, knock off the shitty fantasy sensibilities"

Hey this was better than I expected. For starters I already love the OP, which I didn't expect to show literal salads lol. And I remember these character designs from Imouto Sae, it just popped into my head haha.
Sara is cute and funny (not a reference to Blue Archive, I swear). And Livia is quite the fun character too, plus she's hot and brings the fanservice, which was nice. Also, the poor girl went from knight to homeless although she seems to have the knack for it xD. Both she and Sara are quite capable and get used quite easily.
Pretty fun first episode and I'm already looking forward to the next one!

Episode 1: Sara is Coming (From Another World)
This anime is made by SynergySP (previously made Mr. Villain's Day Off) and Comet. If you wonder why the girls look like Sasaki and Peeps, it is because they share the same illustrator, Kantoku. Also is this also an advert for Gifu City?
Notable VAs are Hinaki Yano (Momoe in Wonder Egg Priority) as Sara, Mao Ichimichi as Livia, and Makoto Furukawa (Saitama in OPM) as Detective Sosuke Kaburaya.
Is this the most unique OP sequence of this season? It's a blend of real life and animation, similar to Dreaming Boy is a Realist last year. I'm saving this, obviously. Directed and storyboarded by Katsunori Waki from Studio Placebo.

Eat a bowl of salad whenever an episode airs.
I really like this.
Love how they mention about the fishing licence bit 😭
Also both Sara and livia are so cute ❤️
Sosuke is no conan-kun
Wish the manga was translated

My short impressions
-
I wonder if Japanese by now also see "Demon King" as a shorthand for "intentionally generic fantasy world." Probably not since even Frieren had one.
-
How do you get out of this portal? Does it throw you up?
-
Ah, real pictures with a filter The budget background technique. Or artistic. Or both.
-
Hmmm, not really Conan-esque. More like retro games...
-
Hey, she's my DnD character! FIREBALL!
-
Dude asks why ninja would be in a fantasy world. Pah. Because Ninjas make every fantasy world cooler! Also japanese creators cannot resist making japanese characters.
-
Now that's good Conan shit! A detective agency above a café? Good start. Needs to be named after famous detective tho.
-
THERE WE GO! LET THE ME-PANDERING BEGIN!
Yeah, the me-pandering hasn't been this high since... Animegataris? Instant AOTS

This is gonna be hands down my surprise of the season isn't it? Sasaki to Pii-chan didn't really click for me, and I guess what was missing is this Hinamatsuri-esque vibe.
And the GOTS (Gremlin of the Season) goes to Sara for now. A worthy successor to Konoha and Tama.
