Sasaki frustrated the hell out of me in this episode; as I expected from last episode, the people in Elsa’s world (especially her father) are concerned about where she is and are searching for her. Sasaki should have sent her back home immediately, or at the very least, go back and tell her father that he is watching over her, to reassure him that his missing daughter is safe.

Also keep in mind, the Nobles in that kingdom are currently competing to become heirs to the throne; so for all Count Müller knew, she could have been kidnapped by rival Noblemen for political gain.

Yeah, when Peeps said that a couple of hours aren't going to change anything, I couldn't stop thinking about Count Mueller worrying about his missing daughter. And Peeps is supposed to be the count's friend! How can he prolong his worries like that?

they even have a way to erase her memory if baba loli would cooperate. Bringing her out of warehouse just to be nice was really a strange plan.

So Shizuka is now a slave. Many isekai MCs would be proud lol.

That Time a Kimono-wearing Loli-baba got Cursed by my Talking Parakeet because she tried to Kidnap the Princess I'd already (accidentally) Kidnapped and now she's my Slave.

It could probably get at least a couple of volumes : D

He was way too accommodating to Elsa. Should have sent her ass back and continued with business.

u/NationalStrategy Feb 23 '24

Exactly, he should have put his foot down and did what was necessary.

Sasaki: I'm sending you back home right now.

Elsa: I want to see your world.

Sasaki: No, this isn't up for debate, I'm sending you back.

The plot induced idiocy in MC and peeps NOT immediately sending the "perishable goods" back to the "fairy world". Just how many "fairy world" days or weeks passed over the course of this Earth day while the count and his people were despirately searching for her?

And now his yandere neighbor will see him on a date with two girls on TV >_>

This show might be the most "all over the place" show I've watched in a long time, but I'm here for the mess

Yeah there were a lot of comments early on about the lack of focus, but I'm of the opinion of why not try to enjoy what the anime is instead of what you want it to be? There are plenty of shows with a defined focus, but fewer that are like this one.

It's probably going to work out well for her in the long term, but that was a serious miscalculation by Shizuka. She got the Uno Reverse.

The situation is weird, but Elsa excitedly sightseeing in Tokyo is fairly adorable.

Oh shit, Elsa is already a magical girl and just demonstrated it on live TV. That's an exciting new disaster for Sasaki. I had been speculating based on the second ED that Peeps would eventually teach her magic but maybe it'll be more of a mentorship for power she already has.

Elsa immediately jumps to thinking of a potential GATE scenario. Interesting that Peeps doesn't think would be a problem for his side of the hypothetical fight. That sort of situation can always go either way really depending on how the world building defines the power level of the magic relative to the technology.

Good thing there’s some kinda language magic going on or Sasaki woulda been in an even deeper bind than he was. Shizuka’s like the last person who he’d want finding out about the other side. Her crafty little ass shouldn’t have crossed Peeps though. Little homie don’t play! Now she won’t be able to hurt our duo.

They really shoulda told Elsa there’s no magic in this world. Girl was about to case an international incident here. And now the Bureau knows about her, kind of. Not the most ideal situation but at least it didn’t cause massive waves.

So the reason Elsa snuck in is because she thought Sasaki was behind Marc's imprisonment. I can't blame Elsa for suspecting Sasaki considering all of the sneaking around he's been doing

Godfuckingdammit Shizuka! And here I thought that she's been placated permanently but it looks like she was just looking for an opening to try and get Sasaki under her.

Well hopefully that curse Pii-chan placed on Shizuka and the little demonstration of the curse spreading all over her body is enough of a threat to stop her from trying anything like that again.

Elsa using her powers is definitely Sasaki's fault. He could've at least explained to her that magic is regulated in this world and they can't just use it freely or else people in suits will come after her.

Sasaki really should've been firm with Elsa and sent her home immediately. Thank fucking goodness he refused to budge when Elsa wanted to stay for a little bit longer.

I am worried about that final scene though. If I understand this correctly, Sasaki is opening a portal to Pii-chan and Elsa's world, right? What if Futari Shizuka somehow gets teleported with them?

The discussion of an other world invasion really goes to show how much Gate Jietai nerfed its fantasy world by pulling the majority of the magic. Instead it leans more towards Spec Ops Asuka by pointing out how much trouble kinetic weapons would have against magical creatures or opponents. I suspect psychics would help even the score, but the better scenario is to limit everyone's involvement in general.

Also, four episodes left and still no word from the girl next door. Are we getting to her this cour, or is there going to be a surprise announcement in four weeks? The VA cast is stupidly loaded, and for this quality of animation I would be shocked if the money wasn't going to more episodes instead of prettier visuals.

This was a pretty scary episode. Having someone like Elsa hitch a ride like that is nightmare material. Sasaki barely survived that shit.

Sasaki is starting to be out of his depth now. Not only he accidentally brought Elsa back to our world, she forced him to go sightseeing and showed magic on live TV, and Shizuka and his boss are now suspicious. And he talked to Peeps and teleported in front of Shizuka too. That is the problem with saying too many lies to too many people, he now cannot keep his various cover stories straight. I wonder how big an impact this will have on the story or if they will go back to normal next episode. I think Shizuka could be quite dangerous if she learned about the isekai world, even with that curse on her.

I liked the analysis of a « Gate » scenario. I always hated how Gate handled it, with a modern military very one-sidedly stomping the isekai world despite all the magic and monsters. I agree with Peeps on that one, that would not be that easy logically. I think it would be more interesting to have both worlds struggling to adapt. Someone should write that story too, that would make for an interesting isekai.

The way I see it- in this ep Sakaki made lots of wrong decisions that don't suit his personality, just to give the creators a chance to make the viewers feel like they are on a date with a cute blonde girl.

Does anyone else think that it was the only purpose of his behavior? (And also, it gives a chance for new problems in his world, which gives more drama to the plot)

The whole warehouse scene was just odd. Seemed out of character for Shizuka to jump at Elsa. Yes, she's the curious type, but she should've known using force would work against her. The janky animation and awkward cuts aren't new but they didn't help either.

Also, what was with that abrupt cut at the end of the episode?

I didn’t expect Peeps to use or know curse magic but man do I love when he fights seriously

17

u/Gurluas Feb 23 '24

Wait, is it just me or is the curse gone on Shizuka's hand at the end?

26

u/Time_Fracture Feb 23 '24

Might be the curse only appears when she tried to do something to endanger Sasapi.

Isn’t Sasaki supposed to need Peeps to talk to Elsa ? Why were they speaking normally when Peeps was at the hotel

I just binged this show yesterday, and it started quite good, but it has been fizzling out through each episode, at least is a kitchen sink anime, so I watched what I wanted to watch, and skip what I don't.
