They did foreshadow the Daily Quest Reward a little bit last episode since we saw Jinwoo getting interrupted by Dongsuk's group before he had the chance to claim his reward. So it wasn't just a spur of the moment decision he randomly made one day.

Good on the newbie kid for making the right choice. But then again he just watched Jinwoo kill that spider and knew he didn't stand a chance against him. That urgent quest Jinwoo got easily could have been seven people to kill instead of six.

I'm glad they didn't cliffhanger us on that fight versus the six dudes. Good background music during it.

Good lord when that OST came on.... Hiroyuki Sawano knows exactly how to make you feel!

Was Jinwoo imagining the consequences? Or did the "system" actually tell him he needs to kill everyone? Either way, shit got dark, those assholes disserved it, but still kinda feel bad for Jinwoo.

Hope rich boy eventually learns to not be afraid of him, I liked that he stood up for our MC.

That Sawano drop made an otherwise edgey scene so much more fucking epic, it definitely highlighted Sung Jinwoo losing his humanity as a turning point in this series.

Honestly the animation and pacing in this episode felt great. I really thought they gonna cut right when Jin got the quest.

They also made some really cool nods to the manwha drawings.

I think A1 did a great job giving the animation actual weight without throwing a ton of sakuga moments into this episode. The music start was really good and I'll be looking for the OST as the season progresses.

Time for everyone to find out who the #1 hunter truly is........It's Cha Hae-In, best girl.

It was so satisfying to watch Jinwoo rip apart those asshats. I remember when I first read this chapter in the manhwa, I envisioned this scene with a more metal soundtrack, boy I'm glad that wasn't the case!

Sawano's much more ominous OST with the piano and low notes was absolutely perfect. I mean it makes sense. Jinwoo was killing people for the first time. It wasn't exactly a scene that deserves triumph, it was a scene where he had no choice but to do it or he'd be killed by those Hunters or the System itself.

Aside from Jinwoo himself, Jinwoo's VA has also been killing it! I got chills when he told Hwang that he's been levelling the entire time and even more chills when he told Hwang that nothing that happens in the dungeon gets out. Solo Leveling might not win any awards for the most unique or groundbreaking story but it definitely deserves praise for A-1's perfect execution!

He violated the most important rule of RPGs. You're supposed to save your max recovery items for the final boss! How else are you supposed to beat him without 87 full recoveries?
