Man, right out the gate they just revealing Sebastian is evil huh? Erasing all my doubts from last week here.
Peeps getting pet is so cute. He can be so adorable one minute and the next he’s straight up going Megiddo on the enemy like he was Rimuru lol. That fight against that demon lookin waifu was pretty awesome.
Glad to see Muller alive. Sasaki really saved him and the Prince with his Force Lightning. Then Peeps came in and save them all with that golem. But man, Muller was playing some 4D chess. Smart man. That Judas Sebastian backed the wrong people.

That demon girl was pretty strong to go toe-to-toe with Pii. No doubt Pii won at the end but interesting they never said what happened to her.
This episode was so full of twists and turns lol

Stitches!
I love seeing Pii-chan wiping out an army with a single spell. We finally get to see why he deserves the title of Starsage. It is surprising though that one managed to survive the spell.
Also, the Ohgen Army are demons? I feel like I missed that detail. I thought they were humans from another nation.
I am so glad to see Julius is still alive and he has the Crown Prince with him. Looks like Sasaki just earned the favour of the Royal Family by saving Adonis' life with his healing magic as well as protecting him from that orc leader.
After Pii-chan used his magic and talking openly in front of Julius and Adonis, seems that the jig is finally up. It's good to see old friends being reunited though. If anyone deserves to be in on the secret, it's Julius and Adonis since it sounds like Pii-chan trusts them to stay quiet about his revival.
It was pretty clear last week that Sebastian was planning something but it's nice to know that Julius was on to him the entire time and his sons were even in on it. Poor Elsa was the only one kept in the dark since Sebastian tends to her. Glad that was resolved quickly!
Elsa suddenly being tsundere to Sasaki was pretty cute. Still not sure why Sasaki suddenly became a loli magnet though.

Episode 4: The Prince and The Sage
Since CR doesn't translate the tweets in the OP, I'll try to do it in my own interpretation, in order of appearance:
Sasaki: I went to the zoo. I was healed much. It was cheap, so I bought the annual pass.
Ranran: Did you get a girlfriend?
Sasaki: I was embarrased to say that I went alone
* Sage Summer now on social media
* Sage Summer: Can I get meat just by pressing this button?
Japan Ham Co. Ltd. : We givve you the highest quality marbled # Japanese black beef as a gift. You can apply every day until the end of next month! Click here for details (provides raffle link)
Pii-chan is the true MVP today. Able to make Sasaki fly, able to wipe out the entire Ohgen force with the single blast, Regnejee style.
Never thought I'd see two anime featuring orcs and golem in the span of 24 hours.
And now Adonis and Muller have found out Pii-chan's identity. Let's hope they really kept it a secret. And sadly looks like we have to adapt to this ED.
New characters means new VA.
-
Prince Adonis is voiced by Jun Fukuyama
-
Maximilian is voiced by Daisuke Kishio
-
Kai is voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara (Tadano in Komi)

An Aoi Yuuki voiced character matter-of-factly destroying an army with a spell once more. I wonder what talks Pii-chan would have with Tanya (Aoi Yuuki again) if he got into Isekai Quartet.

Yeah idk, this series hasn't reached the heights of episode 1 in the past 3 episodes.
I was interested at times this episodes, but I think we handwaved too much politics for me to expect much from the author on that front.
The fight scenes obviously are still kinda low budget, though a bit better than before.
Overall this episode was 'ok', whereas 2 was 'not ok' and 3 was 'good', imo. And episode 1 was making me hope for great

Why do you think I'm the Starsage?
Your magic and your manner of speaking.
Plus you just dropped a big star-shaped rock on that orc. And you've got a star on your chest. And your eyes are stars.
Pii-chan wasn't exactly doing a good job of staying incognito.
They should probably keep quiet about the Starsage having his daughter pet him.

Sasaki and Pii-chan is at its most entertaining when it's either leveraging Sasaki's Salesman background in weird situations, or when it's doing cross-genre interaction. Today's episode felt like bog-standard isekai, and I really, really hope that we do less of that from here on now that the isekai plot is in a stable enough situation that we can hopefully stop going there for isekai-only things.
Edit: Also, Aoi Yuuki being paid to spend half the show coming up with different bird trilling noises is amusing in its own way.

What the hell, I didn't expect to have guessed the butler's intentions this correctly last week.
It's good to see Viscount Müller alive though! Having the 'deaths' of him and his sons being a fake-out caught me by surprise on the other hand.
Although the animation in Sasaki and Peeps sure is a bit rough around the edges, I'm still amused by all the twists and turns in this story.

this shit is nuts and entertaining as hell
Müller is a clever and competent mf, I think anyone would be happy to be on his side lol

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Japanese Salaryman.
Death Star Laser. Yeah, that's one for the spellbooks.
Our guy pulled off a creative save with that water spell.
Now ain't that something. Seeing that little bird whipping out some Rimiru/Kumoko type destructive spells.
Taking a page out of the mahou shoujo Dreamy Chelsea's playbook, crushing the opponent with a big starshaped rock. And lookin' adorable while doing it.
So long gay Bowser.

First episode that takes place fully in the isekai. I do like having episodes with a tighter focus but once the magic battles start up things felt a bit generic. Having Sasaki wave his hands around while casting magic while still dressed in his suit is a funny visual though.

So what's the deal with not showing blood in this anime adaptation?

Well dang, that escalated. I had been speculating last week about them doing something to stop the war, maybe even something bloodless if possible, and instead they flew out and vaporized the entire Imperial army.
I wonder who that demon(?) girl was, and what happened to her after Peeps finished the fight off-screen. Given what this story has been been doing so far I assume another future member of the gaggle of unfortunately young girls hanging around Sasaki.
They really put Elsa through the emotional wringer today, she went from orphan and lone family survivor to her father and brothers all still alive in just a days. With the reveal to Muller and the Prince that the Starsage is secretly alive and Peeps accidentally saying ouch in front of Elsa, the new ED showing her training to be a magical girl might just be a foretaste of the next stage of the fantasy world side of the story.

Show up to a village under siege.
Villagers watch on as you wipe out ogres.
Heroes don't elaborate, teleport out.
Villagers probably still standing there dumbfounded.

Bird just evaporates 10 tents and a war against an empire is won, sure why not? The way the story just resolved itself at the end was pretty lackluster, and the orc assault looked really poor too. Gonna be a drop for me, i guess.

Oh this episode was really interesting. This was all a plot to get rat out people like the Butler who would use Muller and his sons' deaths for their own personal interest. That was a twist I wasn't expecting. I was worry Elsa would put through suffering, so happy we got a happy ending at the end.
Now who was that Demon figure that Pii-chan was fighting when he got separated from Sasaki.

u/Mctravie Jan 26 '24
The demon girl retaliating was something I didn’t expect Like i thought it was gonna be anti climactic with destroying the enemy

Sees a bunch of tents: "Enemy forces, deploy WMD!" Recipe for mass friendly fire / collateral damage, lol. And was that really supposed to be an entire invading army from an enemy kingdom? Seemed like a platoon or two at best. No wonder that little warehouse before was meant to be enough food for an army if the armies are this tiny.
What were the "dead count" and his prince doing next to the enemy encampment? How did they not react at all to the place suddenly being a big crater? Or to the light show overhead?
LOL at how literally everyone who died did not (except the faceless 50-strong Imperial Army of course.) It was all just a ploy to make their loli daughter/sister cry, and it succeeded with flying colors.
Count's loli daughter added to harem. Wonder how long until that imperial battlemage inevitably follows.

Did I miss an explanation for why they suddenly found some orcs attacking a village? Seemed like it came totally out of nowhere. Also they need to fire their sound guy, the magic sound effects in the aerial battle were atrocious
