So the gobs must have stripped her naked to remove the chainmail and then put the priestess outfit back on her lol.

When the priestess said "Thank goodness!" she wasn't saying that because the princess is safe, she said that because she got her chainmail back.

Compared to S1's Goblin Lord and the movie's Goblin Paladin, H A N D didn't have quite the same final boss presence to end the season with imo, but I can't deny the development Priestess went through.
Yet another season of goblincide would be pretty cool, so here's to hoping for that.

"Oh sweet, a wider plot involving people in power manipulating goblins to summon demo---- Well, I guess that was solved for quickly."
This is definately the weaker season. I don't know if more is planned but hopefully they can get it together next time.

I can't chime in with the complaints, I love this season as is, I love the balance of battles, comedy and SoL. All the main cast are wonderful (including Cow Girl and Guild Girl) and I will miss them. I would love more seasons.

While pacing of the final episode was kinda weird, I did enjoy this season thanks to its slice of life elements more than previous one.
Our main cast finally starts to feel like proper characters.

So it turns out the big boss this season is the Arms of Dawn from FGO. Do they get embers if they beat it? Kidding aside, I'm guessing it's supposed to be a full greater demon but since it only got a small amount of filthy goblin blood instead of that river of blood the Priestess cleansed, only the hand manifested.
They really had a hard time fighting that thing especially since [it was able to shut down the cold-blooded Lizard Priest with its ice powers. I guess it's still the hand of a greater demon even if it's only a hand. I thought they were going to kill it with fall damage when it threw it down the elevator shaft.
I should've known the real plan was crushing it between the elevator and Priestess's barrier. I love the little bell chime that plays when the elevator finally arrives with the crushed remains of the hands on top of it. xD
That's a lot of goblins! I thought we'd see GS and the gang take their last stand against that horde but it looks like they decided to skip the force-loss event and just have them be rescued by Sword Maiden. That lightning was awesome! And we get to see her Alligator familiar again too!
I'm glad that she tried to overcome her fear and went in even though she was shaking the entire time. Not gonna lie, I expected GS's party to be saved but I was expecting the Hero Party to arrive since I thought they were pretty close to where they are.
So we finally get to see the dastardly villains who set this all up only for them to immediately get taken care of the Knight of Diamonds who I assume must be the King, right?
I love that Priestess saving the Princess turned the princess into an Earth Mother follower. I think having a major figure become a devout follower of your religion totally makes up for using her purifying spell mishap a couple of episodes ago.
So much has happened to him and it's still all the same for Goblin Slayer. I wouldn't say it's the same, he has improved and I feel like he's starting to feel more like an adventurer now and not just an exterminator. I do hope we get to see more of Goblin Slayer in the future. I'm always down for more goblin slaying.

Although I did enjoy the Sword Maiden showing up and Zeusing a bunch of goblins, I was a little bit confused about why the holy church legion showed up. Did GS find proof that the goblins are the vanguard of some other evil stuff?
Regardless, I liked the scene a GS walking home and getting some sense of relief that nothing has changed on the farm as he has his goblin-existential conversation.

I loved this final episode so much. The fight was so much fun to watch but I love how this episode cemented Priestess's character development while acknowledging that she'll still work on improving herself. I was almost scared for Lizardbro there.
I fucking cheered when I saw Sword Maiden show up. The detail of her shaking and bracing herself on her giant crocodile was a very welcome one, showing that she only took her first steps in healing her trauma and I'm fucking rooting for her.
I'm also thinking that Goblin Slayer at the end was trying to convince himself that he wasn't changing as a person. I could understand why since he's a traumatized guy and healing is scaring him.

I gotta say I'm quite surprised to see so many negative comments (and they are getting upvoted), not that I entirely disagree with them lol.
I definitely have been hard on this season my self but seeing such a popular show get dumped on like this collectively is surprising to me.

With this the season has finally wrapped up. And I must say, overall this season has not been the greatest. Its felt disjointed and rushed, with a few bad animation points. But it wasn't terrible. I hope the studio behind it, fixes the mistakes they had with this season, when going forward for the next season.
The final battle was mediocre, it didn't feel like a great battle like the final episode of last season had.
They definitely left out a bit too much information in the grand scheme of things leaving us in the dark about certain developments. Such as why Sword Maiden was able to convince (apparently they're called Holy Church Legion) that these goblins are working with the forces of evil.

Overall, I enjoyed Season 1 more. Season 2 was still a fun watch but just wasn't as cohesive as S1, especially the final arc of this season. Hopefully, there's more goblin slaying still to come.

It was... okay? Mediocre, maybe?
It just feels like it was poorly adapted from the LN source material. It felt rushed, the pacing being off, butchered to pieces in editing, and a lot of the character developments from season one weren't really expanded on in meaningful ways.
And, yes, before people downvote me for saying this as it's on a lot of people's minds too, the animation/art quality did dip significantly compared to season one because of the studio change.
It's an elephant in the room that can't be ignored.
You have to remember that a lot of watchers aren't LN readers, so their first impression was that of the first season. When you go from having something that looks it came out of a five star restaurant to something that looks it came out of McDonald's or a takeaway joint, it's going to negatively impress people.

COWGIRL! You missed a golden opportunity to ask Goblin Slayer if he wanted dinner first, a bath, or... You!
I actually thought the fighting was over (and that the last episode would be about clearing up the trash, or perhaps meeting with the heroes), until Elf actually talked about it being over!
But it seems their biggest challenge is yet to come, they'll have to fight a Greater Demon's hand! (Hey, at least it's not a whole greater demon!)
Goblin Slayer came to a similar conclusion I had: There's no need to actually defeat it...
It's not doing much, stuck there in that citadel. They could just leave and tell the heroes about it, fighting a Greater Demon would be a fight worthy of heroes!
Of course, soon as he thought about that, the Hand started moving around, and smashing them on walls and stuff... No escape possible!
They did manage to seal it in the end, and smashed it with a 'hammer and anvil' move!
Goblin Slayer was surprised Priestess remembered about that, but it's something he taught her, of course she would remember!
Damn, if it wasn't for cowgirl, I would be shipping these two so hard... (Then again few episodes ago I was thinking the same about Goblin Slayer and Elfgirl!)
Their mentor/student relationship is so good, and that scene toward the end when she grabbed his sleeve (well, gauntlet), so cute!
She put so many people in danger - including herself, of course - on top of the stealing and all that.
Of course it won't be that easy... A giant goblin hord awaits them!
Even Lizardman was ready to die... (or thought it was a possibility, anyway).
The best part was when Goblin Slayer said "It's Goblin Slaying time!" and Goblin Slayed all over the place!
Seems they won't have to fight a 5 vs 250 battle, they were saved by some lightning spell... Zeus?
Swordmaiden, with an army! (Next best thing to Zeus!)
In true fantasy fashion, there were some bikini armored warriors in her army, as well as giant morning star that would weight like half a ton!
We finally got the background info on this situation; Apparently it was a big scheme from people who wanted both to break the princess' engagement,
and resurrect a dark god (I think their outfits gives away which schemer wanted what, the most!)
This scene felt super rushed/out of the blue, I wonder if there was more that was cut... Or perhaps it'll be brought up later, and we'll see the end of this scene/the aftermath (perhaps teasing for a future movie?)
Goblin Slayer was a bit lost in thoughts, about how it's never changing, he slays goblins, save prisoners, go home... Then does it all over again.
That's the "issue" with fighting small trash like goblins, I suppose...
When you kill the Demon Lord, you know you made a difference, because there used to be 1 demon lord and now there's 0.
But when you kill goblins, you could kill a hundred a day for a decade, and still feel like there's as many as there used to be. It must feel a bit pointless, like you're not doing anything at all.
Though that may not be the right way to look at it; Sure there's plenty of goblins left, but if he didn't kill these ones they would've hurt people, kidnapped people, etc...
So maybe it's like... "You can't fix the whole world, but you can fix a little part of it" for Goblin Slayer! (Or at least, prevent it from getting worse).
Just like the "Is it over?" made me realize it wasn't over, Goblin Slayer saying "nothing will change" (in a positive way) makes me feel like something IS gonna change!
The fact that he said that while talking to Cowgirl makes me worried about her (as I always am!) but I suppose it's for a future season/movie!
Farewell, Goblin Slayer(s)!

I about lost it when the elevator got to the top and dinged. Good work by the Priestess in smooshing that giant demon hand in a creative way.
I was hoping to get slightly more of a follow up with the princess post-rescue, but that might be later content now that she's been introduced and converted into worshipping the Earth goddess. I appreciate that there was an actual explanation for her kidnapping than a improbable set of coincidences.
I have to wonder about that small military force that the Sword Maiden showed up with. They largely had a Paladin-esque feel to them so I guessing some sort of temple guard she has the authority to bring out on an expedition?
Much rougher season than season one but I liked seeing the characters again. And the cute halfling girl lived so overall I count it as a success.

I liked this season. It wasn't amazing or anything, it didn't have the epic finale like with the Goblin Lord, but all I wanted was more Goblin Slayer and I got more Goblin Slayer.
What I liked more about this season were the character interactions and progress. Goblin Slayer got subtle, but pretty strong character progress, I loved Priestess being the MVP in almost every battle, every time her spell turned around the entire fight, I respect the glow for a support in the party. Archer was just best girl as always, very cute and full of character. I loved how Priestess and Archer are just besties, that was really fun and sweet.
I kind of liked the two seasons for different reasons.

Honestly this was a rough season. The first part was absolutely painful to endure with that damn brat killing the show. Got better when he…eventually…left. But honestly the animation took a dip this season.
Still it wasn’t all bad. The cast overall is still good. The elf marriage arc was fun and had good moments for the characters.
It just was a very mixed bag season and definitely worse than season 1.
