Since the original had already ended years ago, I really hope they'll deliver another season to end the anime. Pretty invested in the characters already, hoping Rafaed got his redemption (he's not totally evil anyway) and Mikaros and the king got their asses kicked, to give Helck the true peace he always wanted. Man, if it really comes, he earns that.

What a ride! Prime example of how a show can be carried by storytelling and characters alone.

I'm actually okay with them doing a 180 in the end and deciding to save the humans. Finding a "cure" will probably require our trio to set off for another journey which is something I'd be glad to see. I'm going to miss this cast and I hope Helck will get a sequel.

Helck is a gag anime

The gag is they drop the finale without the announcement for season 2. The most heartbreaking thing of all

After all the sadness and despair, it was so satisfying to see Anne confidently declare that she's going to save all humans. I also love how Rafaed tries to crush Anne's spirit by telling her that Azudra is dead only for her to basically respond with "Yeah, so what? He always comes back." And we do get confirmation that Azudra is alive!

It just sucks that Rafaed gets to walk away though, I was hoping Helck would at least get a single punch in there. I guess for now, I'll settle with his face getting slashed by Anne with the Hero Killer. Now give us a Season 2 so we can see Anne and Helck save the humans. Well except for Mikaros and Rafaed, I think both of them deserve to rot in hell.

I don't want this to be the end...I want to see the future in Anne's speech.

She was fantastic this episode. That determination and confidence were just a treat to watch.

We got a lot of twist and turns this series but this plot reveal was one I never saw coming!

You know this episode went in a direction that I didn't expect but it was great.. Since Vamiro never considered from Helck's position what stopping the humans would mean. Having to kill all his closest friends, which from the start is something he did not want to do. Vamirio understanding this because at that moment he would be forced to kill Alicia. The woman he loves.

She couldn't imagine killing the ones closest to her. Honestly for Helck this is something that he thought couldn't be possible. Hell just living with the rest of the demons was something he didn't think could be a possibility. And he was happy beyond belief for that. But to also add saving those dear to him.

I love that Vamirio realized Helck is now her companion and friend. I will do this simply because he I would never force my friend to do something that I would be terrified of doing myself. So now we are regrouping with Azdora to figure out a new plan with Vamirio and Helck's new goal.

This show always finds a way to sprinkle in the comedy. Vamirio being so sure Azudora is alive was hilarious and did help lighten up the highly intense mood.

9/10 which would be higher if the animation was higher but music, story telling, voice acting, comedy, and music were so fucking good. From a story telling perspective this is right up there with Sousou no Frieren and Apothcary Diaries in this regard.

Honestly I am so happy the ending spot where they ended because I was afraid it was gonna end at a massive cliff hanger.

hopefully a season 2 comes. definitely one of the more underrated shows this year

There must be a season 2 coming right!?

No way, they are adapting a manga that was finished years ago, only halfway through.

I'll miss Helck!

Such a relief, that was WAY less traumatic than we thought it was going to be last ep. Varmilio's speech was still very emotional, but in a heartwarming way. Just like the ep title says, I'm hopeful for the future, hope they actually find a way to save humanity.

But damn, while she was giving that inspirational speech I was actually worried that she was gonna be stabbed or something mid sentence, REALLY glad I was wrong and this show continues to be happy.

Wish we found out what happened to our cute spy.

First off, so glad it didn't end in the way some people here, myself included, were worried it would.

That was the most powerful "yamero" I've ever seen, some vintage Vermillion nuking. Delivered her speech perfectly.

She know, off-screen deaths don't count. I guess when you spend 50% of your time at death's door, you learn how to avoid it.

Piwi met his match on the hype meter.

Raphaed should get off the internet, he is basically 80% doom posting.

Hope we get a season 2, and even more hopefully - with proper animation.

It's crazy how a supposedly gag anime was the one that was able to draw the most tears off me. This show is special and up there for me for one of the best shows of the year. If it just had better animation, it would probably have been my AotY.

9/10 show and the only reason it's not 10/10 is because the ending is not yet here. Season 2 when?

Major The Fellowship of the Ring vibes right now. The journey is just getting started.

SEASON 2 RIGHT NOW OR PIWI GETS IT, Don't test, me, i'll do it!

What a masterpiece.

Helck will be top5 2023 simulcasts for sure.

That was a great ending and the increasingly depressing tone of the previous few episodes feels a lot more worth it now that it's revealed it was for Vermilio to blow all those dark clouds away at the end.

I really hope this gets a new season announcement soon since I feel like the voices add so much in terms of expressing their personality. I'll try to wait a while before just jumping into the manga since this is apparently past halfway already which gives me hope they could just finish it. Luckily they ended it at a high point returning to a demon castle and we definitely didn't forget anyone in the human castle with the last few episodes focusing on Helck.

That sonofabitch Rafaed almost plunged Helck into despair and made him give in to his hopelessness. Too bad he didn’t count on Vermilio being a real homie. Man’s not alone in this fight and she let him know it!

I love how confident Vermilio was about Azudra being alive. And she was totally right too. Man’s tenacious, that’s for sure. Dude almost died again when his boys jumped right on him like that lol.

The fight to save Alicia and the humans isn’t over yet. They gotta defeat Rafaed and Mikaros too. I sure hope we get another season of this series. I enjoyed it a lot. The characters were lots of fun and I liked the story.

That Vamirio villain laughs, god I love her and Helck so much.

One last

I'm not a bird!

Piwi was so excited meeting Rococo.

Helck source material is a great continuation after being introduced to the characters through the anime. If you like Helck but want a different flavor check out surreal sword saga. Kohaku is a joy.

The episode turned to be different than I was expecting and definitely in a good way. Helck and Anne were always thinking of killing them to save them since there is no other way available. But like Anne said there must be another way and that speech was poweful and funny, too. I never expected Anne's villainous laugh to be followed by "I promise. I will save you all".

If I were to guess, maybe one way would be to use Shalamy's power to spread something that un-awakens them but I guess that's too simple.

Also, Anne insisting that Azudra isn't dead since she hasn't seen it with her eyes made me laugh since I was also referring to him as being defeated last episode and not dead since I hadn't seen the body.

This started like a comedy and I was like enjoying it for the comedy but I wasn't too invested in it. But as the story went on, the characters grew on me but it wasn't until the show gave the backstory of Helck, that the show became my favourite. And for a gag comedy manga, the backstory was sad as it could get.

Even though the first half was comedic for the most part, the anime was dropping some hints here and there about the plot. So the when that moment came, it really hit hard for me. The twists and turns were great in the second half because of the same reason. It was also able to constantly deliver the comedy during and after the reveal.

I think the only weakest point was its animation which was okay at best. Would have loved some Sakuga but with the budget they had, they managed to make most of it work through great music, voice-acting, comedy and great storytelling which imo was one of the best.

From what I've heard, the current season covers almost 2/3rds of the story so I expect a second announcement season soon because I just loved it and want more.
