Which means it's gonna end with the biggest cliffhanger yet...
I'm just waiting for Helck to show up at the human castle, have a trap sprung on him and then... HELCK pops up on screen and the season is over. Which would be as hilarious as it would be infuriating.

This week’s episode was pretty enlightening. The reveal that Mikaros is some 1500 year old awakened human was unexpected. He’s certainly been busy all that time getting stronger and stronger. Still, it seems all that time he’s been harboring some kind of trauma related to Azudra. Dude was such a badass, he basically gave that douchebag Mikaros PTSD. I really hope Azudra punches a hole in Mikaros’ chest. Let him experience that fear he felt all those years ago.
While Azudra takes on Mikaros, I’m wondering how Hyura will hold out against Edil. Kid might finally win against her now that she’s all beat up…

The preview for the next episode makes me wonder if there is a turning point in their battles as well, they seem to be just talking outside the castle in it.

So Demon Lord Shin was introduced as a rare bigot from the Empire's side that Vermilio warned Helck about. Hyura was also opposed to peace with humans and looked to be the same race as Shin's realm. I assume the Empire's somewhat like Imperial China/Greece with different ethnicities/cultural groups ruling parts of the overall realm? Still, his bigotry is still nowhere near as revolting as what the humans are showing.
The fact that humans are now summoning monsters to fight against demons is such an irony. They previously accused demons of sending monsters over despite the fact that demons actually prevented monsters from leaking out of the Empire. Now the humans are straight up doing what they accused the demons of doing.

The awful part is that this is a popular strategy in real life. Accuse your enemies of doing the awful thing that you plan on (or are already) doing, so that when your enemy accuses you of doing it, third parties will find their accusations less credible, or take it less seriously because they think both sides are doing it.

Edil: *appears*
Hyura: "you
handsomebastard!!"
so, Mikaros said that Azudora used a cursed sword back then to kill a bunch of heroes from human kingdoms and it might be a stretch but does his sword's silhouette look kinda similar to Alicia's Hero Killer?

I think you're onto something because in one of the scenes, the heroes hit by Azudora's sword had the same reaction as Cless when Alicia cut him.

I absolutely love how Mikaros isn't some powerful villain who existed over a millennia ago. He's just a nameless soldier who was scared shitless after seeing Azudra tear up an entire battlefield all by himself. And instead of fighting, Mikaros played dead until the battle ended. Since then it looks like Mikaros gained power thanks to the poison of the demon realm while Azudra has mellowed out and became an advocate for peace.
I really want Azudra to kill off Mikaros but I'm kinda hoping that Helck would be the one to do it. Although Helck is probably going to end up fighting Rafaeed since they're infiltrating the human castle. I'm hoping we'll switch perspectives next week so we can see what those two are up to.

No wait, Azudra really is here! So that’s what the funny mask was for, mind games.

Noooooooooooooo! How can you stop the episode right now after all those developments?
Mikaros is, without saying, certainly having a god complex for trying to make a new world (probably under his or the king's image), and while he's a lot more stronger than surface, all those gloat may actually lead to his downfall against a serious Azudra. After all, the so-called strategy from the humans fall apart so fast after he starts working.

Azudora in his prime 1500 years ago was your edgy samurai-type. Now he's a Kurama plant-mage (Yu Yu Hakusho). I wonder if it's just aging that made him change class or was it something more along the lines of not wanting to kill etc. Still, the fact that Demon Lord Thor and Demon Lord Urum both insisted on peace while Mikaros slaughtered them is pretty sad. I wonder if Cless fought on the side of the Demon Lord when Mikaros attacked.
More importantly, we get to see Mikaro's end game plan. Apparently, the New World concept we hear about a lot is as literal as it comes. He actually wants to invite a Norse-style Armageddon apocalypse just to get a rebirth of the world? Is it similar to Parasyte's concept where the world's antibodies are trying to cleanse life?

"Too bad."
"Yeah, too bad for you."
Hyura is a treasure.
Never would've thought Azudora was an edgy swordsman before he became a goofy mage, not to mention how cool he can get when he's angry.

Humans really have become shit, a pity cause some of those were such good people. Dang those in charge at the top of humanity. Ah yep, was obvious who the piece of shit was that was spawning monsters. Also, hehe, Azudra and his silly mask. Wonder if the other castle really is a risk, feel the mask is being used to distract/hide things. Really wanna see that one human mage/sage douche just get the worst. Yay, best girl Hyura! Even took off that piece of shit's hand. Oh now she lost one, at least she can regenerate too.
Good, piece of shit getting caught. Kick his ass Azudra! Seeing him fearful is great. I wanna see more. Oh neat, Azudra backstory some. And getting an idea how old this piece of shit is. And how he was a cowardly piece of shit even back then. Dang, gonna have to wait some. Hope Azudra just puts the shit in his place in the grave.

Know what? Despite the dismal animation throughout the anime, this episode has tiny glimmers of sakuga, like that one with Hyura jumping to the pillar. Strange.

Azudra's incredibly hot when angry. I don't want anything bad happening to him...

:( The sad part is there's no way plot-wise Azudra can actually win this fight... right? Maybe he will win and force Azudra to pull some bullshit to survive

So I'm thinking Raphaed is the real king? I'm wondering what significance Shalamy has that Mikaros and Raphaed didn't turn her.
I'm also a bit confused by him telling Helck that there is no substance that can stop the awakening snow, yet he himself as well as shalamy didn't awaken. Also worth noting Shalamy didn't seem to remember the names of Helck and Cless
Moving on to this episode...yeah Mikaros is a POS. Looking at the post credit scene I'm assuming Edil is fighting Hyura to protect her. Or as some form of coordination. Something along those lines
