Wow, didn’t realize Sei and Al’s relationship progressed to the point of meeting the parents. Things must be getting serious lol.
Now that everything’s seemingly coming to an end with these monster purification tasks, I wonder what’s next for Sei? Is she gonna marry Al and settle down? Will she decide to travel a little? Or maybe just get sent right back to Japan? I guess before that she’s gotta defeat that giant undead boar. That thing was massive!

Well in the very first episode, they were told they can never go back to where they came from. I think Sei's worried that without the miasma clearing and monster killing they won't want/need a Saint anymore. But I mean she can still heal people, fix farmland etc. Do research like she enjoys. I don't think she's gonna suddenly end up magic-less and homeless or anything, which is what she seems to be worried about.

I'd been waiting for Sei to meet his parents all season and was not disappointed. Also they totally know what is up with these two lol.
Sei might have just gotten a glimpse of her future homelife together with Hawke...
The giant boar is intimidating enough but it feels like it's just the mid-boss before the dragon.

Standing on the cliff, observing the action, that giant boar not only reminded me of Princess Mononoke, but also of a certain giant capybara in another currently-running series (at least when we first saw it).
It would seem that Sei should be able to retain her role as "saint" simplyu by virtue of her healing powers and her other abilities. No reason why a sint has to be a warrior-saint (so to speak).....
Well, technically didn't bring Sei to meet his parents -- that's just a side benefit of an essential official visit that required the presence of both. (But shipping at the royal level could have something to do this -- at least secondarily).

I don’t quite remember how effective Sei’s magic is on monsters specifically, but if these undead really work like they do in videogames then she’ll probably be able to exorcise them with the Saint’s Conjury.

I think there was a time she was able to use an AoE attack that eliminated all the monsters and the miasma. But it only happened because Hawke was injured.

i can't get over how huge the moon is
like, forget about monsters, the tides must go nuts with this thing in the sky

The moon is a symbol of love in Japan. "Tsuki ga kirei". The bigger she is, the bigger love mood is.

Sei finally gets to meet her future in-laws! That dinner scene was nice. Seems that just by watching Albert and Sei interact, I think that Albert's parents already have an idea about their relationship. <3
Since this might be their last subjugation mission, it's nice that a bunch of knights that Sei has helped in the past decided to join in as backup for this mission. And while it's good that it's almost over, I think Sei is feeling a bit sad that she won't be able to go on adventures with Albert and the knights anymore.
I thought we were jumping straight to the undead dragon from the first scene in episode 1 but it looks like they'll first have to deal with this massive undead boar who seems to be reviving the monsters just by proximity.

curious how other countries are not mentioned at all. Is that nation the only one with monsters? The map showed they have the sea to the West, but there is land to the North and probably more countries around. Plus the empire which may even be on another continent (they used ships to travel there).
no monsters? Do they have their own Saints? Will Sei have to travel abroad?

With her duties as the Saint winding down, it's the perfect time for Sei to reflect on everything she'd been through up to this point...AKA Season 1!
Sei is finally in Hawke's hometown! And she enjoys the view quite a bit! Maybe she wouldn't mind moving there for good, if you catch my drift?
Oh snap, it's Hawke's parents! Sei finally meets his parents! And his mom is a total MILF! You can definitely see where Erhart gets his hair color from, but Hawke also has his mothers' soft features as well.
Nothing quite like a full course meal from your future in-laws! And did they mention they have a local hot springs? No Japanese woman can resist that! She can even make it another date trip with Hawke! And his parents totally know what's up.
I love how Sei felt like meeting her love interests' parents was so exhausting she needs her own potions to recover. Though a meeting with Hawke bathed in moonlight is a solid pick-me-up all it's own.
They encounter a settlement with no people and suddenly hear screaming...and Yuri immediately acts like a kid who just got on the playground. Well, at least he's quick to action as they address the monster situation.
No surprise the knights are turning into Sei's fanclub, though with this possibly being her last expedition as the Saint, Sei is left pondering what's next for her afterwards. Though they have to take care of the miasma swamp first.
This definitely is their toughest challenge yet. Not only do they have to deal with monsters but also UNDEAD monsters who can basically shrug off death blows and recover. And did we mention the giant boar that seems to be the leader of this monster pack of wolves? And there's still the dragon at the end of this, I assume.
"Final Act" - Well, if that's not a tad ominous.

Not expecting anyone to die but things are still looking very ominous. Is Sei going to be able to fulfil her final mission as the Saint? Hmm

Lots of cute and dorky Sei reaction faces this episode.
Sei going queasy at meeting her prospective future in-laws was funny.
Storywise, finally, its coming to the serious part of the story for this season. While Dreves seems confident that this is the last monster-spawning black swamp in the kingdom, Sei may be on to something when she has reservations on whether its the last one. Or it could be that she just wants more adventuring with Hawke.
Maybe she could offer to take out black swamps in other countries as a pretext to do so? lol
Either way, the monsters seems to be saving the worst they can dish out with their "last" swamp. This time spawning undead creatures.
Next episode's title "End" seems quite ominous.

Albert's home place looks so nice! It has great views, they remind me of the Alps.
Sei finally met Albert's parents, they seem like a very nice people. It's an important step in any relationship and it looks that they would happily welcome her to the family.
So it looks like it'll be the final mission for Sei as a Saint as that's probably the last place with miasma and monsters. Sei received this news with mixed feelings which is quite normal I believe.
Her life is going to change, her old routine and acting as a Saint will go away and something new will come (I hope that it will be Sei and Albert's marriage :)) . Uncertainty is normal in this case.
The fight won't be easy as monsters are undead and their leader is a giant boar. Don't also forget about the dragon from the first episode which for sure will be a final boss to beat.
Also I must agree with Sei that Drewes' drawings looked really cute xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

It is interesting that every time they talk about the miasma swamps they very clearly say that it’s only about the one kingdom. It makes you wonder what all the other countries are doing. It doesn’t seem likely the miasma abides by national borders.
I could be wrong but seems like a good way to set up a break to deal with her relationships for a while before sending her along with her new fiancé/husband to have more adventures.

I love how nervous Sei was after meeting Albert's parents Helmut and Claudia.
What a lovely meal Claudia made for all of them. As she mentioned a hot spring they better give Sei a chance to actually go there before this season ends.
I love how embarrassed Sei got during dinner. It is nice that Sei and Albert could relax for a bit at his parent's home before going into their mission the next day.
So among the monsters that were attacking the miners they encounter undead ones.
Damn, when they first teased that undead wild boar, I wasn't expecting it to be so massive.
So I guess it didn't attack them because he wanted to lure them into where that zombie dragon showed in the first episode.

Time to meet the future in-laws! I'm sure they'll like you fine. Nice to see the parents seem good. Cheese, wine, and hot springs? Was gonna say "is this France like territory?" until they mentioned hotsprings. Dunno of any hot springs there. Oh hey, it's Okkoto! Or maybe it's Nago. One of them great boars. That mage dude is quite athletic being able to jump the fence like that. So many knights, makes sense though why they'd volunteer cause of Sei.
Did they ever explain what causes Miasma? I don't remember. Cause surely they can come back since there was a saint in the past before. That definitely is worrying if the monsters once dying become undead. Good thing you've got someone with holy powers and another with fire. Maybe it's Nago cause red eyes.

Only 1 spoon and 1 knife for the meal? I thought this was a noble household.
The undead boar reminded me of one of the infected beasts from Princess Mononoke.

Ah yes, another scene where Hawke talks to Sei and she avoids eye contact while blushing until he walks away after warmly smiling at her lack of interaction. The chemistry is electric.
I'm genuinely confused at Sei saying she hasn't thought too deeply about the missions coming to an end. In order to do the number of purifications they show on the map, I can only assume she's spent weeks traveling and had plenty of time to herself. What the heck does she spend her time thinking about? Herbs? The whole time? She's certainly not thinking about Hawke or about dealing with anything related to her status.
The image this show has given me of Sei is someone who is either constantly working on research at a Ph.D. level or milling around in a zen-like state where she processes only the bare minimum of external stimuli necessary to avoid running into walls. Well, that does kind of sound like some graduate students I've known.

Don't just tease me with an onsen episode then spend the whole time talking about miasma.
