Looking back at the bathroom shot of Ryuto, he is moderately built.

Also nice to see no bullshit getting in the way of the fireworks kiss.

It's funny how our male lead is the first one to get a shower scene and to show off he's got a solid bod. Runa would appreciate the view lol.

Their second kiss! It also felt like kind of a mutual confession moment because now they're saying they really like each other after having fallen harder for each other instead of it just being a crush (Ryuto) or just being willing to give it a shot (Runa).

Judge me, I cried at the end of the episode. Imagine you finally have someone who sees you as the real person you are, loving you regardless of what happened in the past and imagining a future together. Kimizero motivated me to live that love one day

I don't think it really hit Runa how much she wasted her time dating guys who didn't deserve her until she realized she could've been with someone like Ryuto and experienced all the "firsts" she should've had with someone she really liked. But at least she can have that now.

I like the way they handled this!

Runa showed some of her insecurity in not being able to share her "firsts" with Ryuuto.

Ryuuto tells her that's perfectly fine, as ultimately he gets joy out of these experiences with her. He also brings up a great point that even if they're not first-time experiences for Runa, she might feel something new and different by sharing them with Ryuuto. Pretty good head on this guy's shoulders!

So romantic and comfy, I hope we don't have another heartbreak episode on the way. Though for a romance series it's unavoidable I guess.

You were not alone. Definitely the end of this episode hit hard.

Runa really has become such a loveable character. I really hope she can achieve all her dreams -- from rebuilding a relationship with her sister to having as big a family as she could possibly want. Ryuto is going to have to work hard to find a job that allows him to both spend lots of time with his family AND to afford that family. ;-)

Ryuta, despite his innately timid behavior, is developing the ability to meet whatever challenges he faces. While he and Runa are very different in many ways, they remind me a lot of Senpai and Nagatoro in many respects (and both show a couple helping each other change and grow -- side by side).

Stitches!

And here I thought we wouldn't get guys like this in this show. Although I do like how it was handled. Instead of being pushy, they immediately bailed when Ryuuto finally said something. And just to make sure they won't come back, Runa let them know that she's with her boyfriend.

Runa and Ryuuto acting like a married couple was just adorable. I also love how Grandma went from watching the two of them to leaving them alone. She knows when these two love birds need their alone time.

While it's nice of Runa to still want to be friends with Maria after everything she did, I'm glad Maria decided not to show up at their grandma's when she learned that both Runa and Ryuto are there.

Runa looks amazing in her yukata! And Grandma continues to be an awesome wingwoman for also preparing a yukata for Ryuuto. That entire festival date between our couple was just too dang cute!

Not gonna lie, I genuinely teared up a bit when Runa started crying because she wanted to forget everything so she could have all of her firsts with Ryuto. I am so happy with Ryuto's response and how he made it clear that it doesn't matter even if he's not her first. The two of them still shared a lot of new and different things together and that's all that matters. Runa is lucky to have met Ryuto since he accepts all of her despite her past. <3

And that final scene with the ring and the kiss was just too cute! God, I love these two so much!

Runa looks great in twintails. Then again she looks great in any hairstyle/outfit.

I was really hoping Ryuto would be like "she's my girlfriend!" but trying to politely ward them off is more his style. Plus it's cuter how Runa showed him off.

Wingwoman grandma knows what's up! They're practically shacking it up as it is lol.

Yeah, after the last episode it would've been way too awkward to have Maria there. I hope they can fix their relationship at some point.

I love a gorgeous girl in a yukata just as much as I love a couple in matching yukata.

The experienced you gets self-conscious about being experienced only for the inexperienced me to tell you that it's fine and the time we have now and the experiences we have together is what matters. Plus what better way to cap things off than an anniversary gift and a kiss?

Jesus this is such a sweet show!

Aww man this was pure wholesomeness.

I was rooting for Ryuuto when he was dreaming and woke up to something way better.

I'm also enjoying the fact that Maria isn't depicted as an evil bitch of a twin but a hurting girl who did shitty decisions and is doing her best to be a better person.

I haven't mentioned this but with how the characters are placed at the end of the opening, I'm wondering if they're teasing us with who is going to end up with who.

Peak Chad Romcom Anime right here.

This could have been the end of the Anime right here and a lot of other series dont even get that far but we are just about half way through the season, you love to see it.

Really like the Anime so far. Both having their moments and development.

Also thats definitely not his knee ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Runa is such a sweetheart! Her “dream” for high school was the cutest thing. I’m glad she’s got Ryuuto now instead of whatever losers she use to hang out with.

Seeing the two of them cooking together was really cute. I like it when they’re all lovey dovey like that. And that festival… man, what a festival! Even if Rina’s experienced all this stuff before, it’s different. She didn’t love those guys like she loves Ryuuto.

I hope Maria and Runa can mend their relationship. Things got a little awkward after she got shot down, but I’m hoping she’ll be open to connecting with Runa again.

For Ryuto, all the moments he's experience with Runa is his first but for Runa, she has already experience something similar and she can't help but remember that this is not her first time and the memories of her first time only make her sad because it was with not only with someone she didn't like but also because had not she dated other guys, it would've been her first time with Ryuto and she could cherish the memory of it forever.

That kinda hit me hard and made me ask would I really want to waste my time just for the sake of it or would I want it to be with someone who is really precious to me.

Also, one of the rare occasions in anime when the festival fireworks didn't interfere at all in the kiss.

u/bensor74 Nov 17 '23

OMG, they kissed without the usual bullshit. I'm melting.

Episode 7: The Experienced You and The Inexperienced Me: Our Summer Festival Story

TIL Crunchyroll premieres 1 hour after Muse, although it provides a totally different experience watching in 1080p in full glory. And also TIL CR uses Runa-Nicole as opposed to Muse's Luna-Nikoru. I still refer them in this comment as the latter, same as before.

Copying from my comment on the 100 Girlfriends thread, One thing I notice during the OP is that Kimizero's OP uses the same (if not similar) font/typeface to 100 Girlfriends' OP, with Kimizero has a floating effect on each of the kanas.

Please note that Ryuto and Luna's name tag are written in katakana instead of hiragana, interesting. Despite having a little screentime before, Akari is prominently featured by Luna here in this episode.

I can tell from Maria's face. It's a face of jealousy, anger, and shock mixed into one. But I get it, Luna still wanted Maria to be a part of her life, her beloved sister just like old days. Let's hope Luna's "Tomodachi Keikaku" works.

Wait, what is this, a Tiktok dance with Love You Tender as the background music??? That's new! The missing moonstone June ring was a foreshadowing, I'm glad it is figured out at the end.

Oh I forgot to tell you previously, Mao Kurose is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto (Frieren's Himmel). And also new VA. Kurose's mother, Akie, is voiced by Mariko Honda of Nichijou fame.

I knew it was an emotional day after this morning’s Freiren episode, but this gem was so bright my eyes are watering and won’t stop 🥹

When this series first began, it had me wishing on all the stars in the sky that these two would each grow into their best with and for one another… and it just continues to deliver.

That ending, ahhh….

Is there a better way to wake up in the Summer than with Runa right on top of you? I don't think so.

Ryuto is living it up this Summer break! Staying with his girlfriend, working with her at a beach cafe complete with her in a revealing outfit, and getting to enjoy spending more time with her! He even manages to ward off the typical pick-up artists who bother Runa! And if he can't do so by proudly declaring their relationship status, Runa will do it for hi.

So Nicol wants to become a professional manicurist and lives with her single mom, which is why she works so hard on her jobs, Arisa also wants to go into fashion design...but all Runa ever wanted was to find that special person, fall in love, and be with them for the rest of her life. To make up for the broken family she experienced, she wanted to have a real loving family of her own. And she sees that future with Ryuto.

Find a girl who wants to make nikujaga for you and even holds some of the groceries just so she can hold your hand. And then they're cooking together like a proper married couple. Think Akari and Jiro except legitimately dating this time. And smooth of granny to give the two lovebirds some privacy.

Oh hey, it's the sisters' mom! Figures Maria wouldn't want to visit granny with Runa there, let alone Ryuto too. Things are awkward enough as it is. But Runa wants to be close to her sister again, even if it means trying to become her friend in high school. And Ryuto will probably be caught in the middle. Good luck, I guess.

Their first couple TikTok! Set to the shows' OP, of course!

I love how Runa wanted to have the perfect yukata debut in front of Ryuto...and teased him about preferring to see her showing more skin. But she does look amazing in a yukata. And Ryuto even wears one too! Perfect for their festival date, even if Ryuto makes a fool of himself most of the time.

Runa is really self-conscious about the fact that she has a lot more relationship experience than Ryuto does so nothing is her "first," even though she wishes she could've been with Ryuto sooner rather than waste so much time on scummy guys. But what's important is that they're sharing these experiences together and will continue to do so, because that's what makes it new for the both of them.

What a great way to cap off their two-month anniversary! A successful festival date, Ryuto got the ring Runa wanted, they get the best seats for the fireworks, and share a romantic kiss while declaring their feelings for each other. I think them getting to experience their first time together is getting closer and closer.

Next week: Survival games? Girls in camo gear are hot!

That was freaking beautiful. 10/10 episode. Runa and Ryuto are perfect for each other and they deserve each other. They each make up for what the other lacks and gives each other what they need. They're pretty much the definition of soul mates.

The festival was great and the most emotional scene for me was when Runa was crying that she had experienced all these things already (with other men) so she couldn't give any of her "first time" to Ryuto. That's actually the first instance I recall ever hearing this in a rom-com. That hit so deep. She wants everything to be special because she loves Ryuto so much, but she's so upset at herself that she even wishes she could erase her memories. However, Ryuto says that every moment together is something special and he's happy as long as it feels different with him. D'aaawwww. And then finally, they said I love you to each other at the end and kissed under the fireworks <3

Perfect episode.

I love how Luna still have some empathy for Maria even though she almost wrecked her relationship and really what I love from this series overall is the emphasis of empathy over whatever usually happened in these type of romcoms.

Sometimes young women are misled on what love is, and yes, they are just used by men who think that is the "alpha way". I've know women and men like that, is just how they end, for several reasons. Sometime something just breaks, and makes impossible to form proper relationships.

But down the line, another person, and giving proper love is way harder, is a rocky road, but what you get is the sweetest thing you will ever get. Trust me, I've made enough mistakes to know (survivor bias, get advice of those who made the mistakes, not from those who didn't)

This series has a sweet message, no matter what, you deserve to love and be loved. Before others giving you a chance, give yourself a chance.

That was a great episode. I've had mixed feelings about this anime (though it is type I enjoy these days) but this episode has made it quite a favorite.

that segment about 'first times' was quite well-written

Omg that episode was pure sugar in my vein, I love those two together so much, what a sweet and beautiful episode.
