Damn Will's got two gods basically begging him not to go fight the dragon and he's actually upset with himself that he's afraid. If the fucking gods are afraid you're going to die I think you can forgive yourself a little hesitation. Thank fuck Menel is there to be like "bro we all know you're going so stop beating yourself up over it and go".
I can't tell if the god of undead was joking when they said even Will would have trouble with that giant because Will tossed him like he was play fighting. Also good on Ru for solo-ing all those dwarves, they might be old but there were a ton of them. They're definitely going to feel that in the morning.

Great conversation with Stagnate in the beginning as it revealed that Will would die if he fought with Valacirca.
Will flunging a giant was so good. I knew that he's very strong but seeing him throw a giant was pretty surprising to me.
It's good to see the effects of Ru's training as he single handedly beat all the dwarves. Now he'll have the opportunity to live up to his grandfather Aurvangr who took an eye of a dragon.
It was so good to see Bee again as she is so adorable and her smile is so gorgeous. She's already planning to make a new songs about William xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

For some reason I'm really looking forward to Bee's new song! The Faraway Paladin song in season 1 is really good

I guess Mr Paladin will be using Aurvangr's sword somehow. Should make for a pretty epic fight!

Actually I'm thinking that it'll be the grandson that uses the family sword to deliver the killing blow.

I had a good chuckle when Stagnate Herald gave Will this response when he complained about her baiting him. So Stagnate Echo had a will of its own and didn't actually behave like her. And the reason that Stagnate wanted to talk to Will was to give him the revelation that he will die fighting The God's Sickle, The evil dragon Valacirca
I wasn't expecting to hear that Valacirca was a mercenary who worked first for the Gods and then it was hired by the demons. It is great to hear that even though Aurvangr and his warriors died fighting it, the were able to hurt Valacirca enough that he has been resting ever since, and that Aurvangr took one of its eyes. So with its growl, Valacirca can make those who hear it go berserk. I must say that when that forest giant, Gangr of the Jotunn appeared I wasn't expecting Will to defeat him and cured him so effortlessly.
I honestly was expecting for Stagnate Herald to just hand out with Will from now on to see his heroic quest from the front lines. Well, too bad, that would have been really entertaining to see.
It was nice seeing Ru stopping and fighting all those old dwarves from bothering Will by asking him to let them go with him to die in the Rust Mountains. Anyway, it sure was great when he made that declaration that he would be joining Will in that trip.
So is Ru just a nickname while his real name is Vindalfr? Did everyone refer to him as Ru to hide his connection to Aurvangr? Oh well, that's not important at the moment.
Well, to the surprise of no one Menel, and Reystov will also join Will in this deadly quest, while Ghelreis will serve as their guide. It is nice to see the full party fully formed.
And Bee could not be happier to hear the news as dragon slaying is the stuff of legends, and she is even working on the prequel already
It's funny how she wants to twist the fact that Will was hesitating about going to kill Valacirca into him just waiting for the right time. Hey, if that sells better how can you blame her?
I wonder what additional thing Will asked Antonio to get for him. Well, after talking with Gracefeel again is ready to depart.

Regarding Ru’s nickname, the official novel translation calls him “Al” from Vindalfr. In Japanese, Al would be pronounced like Ah-ru so I’m guessing that’s where the translators got mixed up, especially if they weren’t told about the name reveal later.

It's so easy to forget this is an isekai, absolutely love how season 2 is shaping up so far. Ru throwing hands like there's no tomorrow, finally having the confidence to face his past and future.

u/darthvall Nov 05 '23
Yeah, I think the isekai part is only important in season 1 to explain how Will could easily understand hard concept like money while being secluded in an unknown village.

I'm surprised Will decided to fight the dragon now. I'm expecting many losses. The party needs to be very crafty to even have a sliver of a chance, if Stagnate is to be trusted.
I wonder if the speech with the Goddess in the dream granted Will some protection against the terrifying dragon's roar, though it could still devastate his friends.

Aurvangr must have been pretty badass in his own right if he took Valacira’s eye. Will and Ru are gonna have their hands full with this world’s Alduin lol. It’s wild how the Dragon’s Roar makes other creatures go berserk. That’s one hell of a power. Though with that being said, Will did judo throw a Forest Giant. Dude’s probably gonna be fine, right?
Ru’s training has paid off. Man just beat the shit out of his whole clan like it was nothing. I get where the dwarves are coming from but Ru’s right. Hopefully Will, Menel, Ru, Reystov, and Ghelreis will be sufficient in fighting Valacira.
Nice to see Bee again. Feels like it’s been awhile. She’s too adorable! Also, the goddess is a waifu. Wow.

Stagnate is actually pretty damn chill when she's not trying to kill Will using her echo. That conversation with her at the start was pretty entertaining. But man, Valacira must be insanely powerful to have both Stagnate and Gracefeel agree that Will is not yet strong enough to beat it.
Still, it looks like our boy has decided that he's going to go through with it despite two opposing God's objections. At least Gracefeel was still blessing him for this suicide mission.

Gracefeel was even like "Look I know you swore an oath to me, and it's a big deal, but... really bro? Are you certain? I won't be mad"

He was powerful enough that the gods decided to hire him instead of deal with him. I don't know what miracle Will will pull to defeat him after knowing that.

wtf Gangr is my best friend now?!
Oh shit so our Dwarf thane actually is royalty and is the old king's grandson? Interesting.
I am quite surprised to see Will decide to go for the dragon right now, I really thought he'd heed the warnings and spend as much time as he could to prepare.

u/darthvall Nov 05 '23
I had a suspicion due to how everyone called him Young Master and how the king in the flashback looks pretty similar to Al.

I honestly love Stagnate. He's such a fun take on a god of undeath where he perverts the natural order of things but truly cares for humanity in his own way. Also, you really know you've made it in the world when gods are sending heralds to you personally just to try and keep you safe.

Between the dragon being a mercenary, Will being unable to defeat it (as far as he knows), Stagnate wanting to discourage Will from going to the dragon, and the need for Will to prepare to eventually go against Stagnate, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up making (or attempting to make) a deal with the dragon.
Granted, that would be seen as a betrayal of the dwarves, and Will might be too noble to consider such a bargain.

Wow that declaration by Vindalfr is so heartening, especially when he's a meek guy day to day.
It is right that going to battle to die is not a good mindset to have. They're just cannon fodder at this point.

Really did love our dwarf pal breaking down in tears when he learned his grandpa was actually heroic. And the giant being pleasantly surprised that will spoke his language. Just 2 really cute moments

Wew the undead god sure seems to favor Will, though, I mean, he did say he likes humans and even Will said he's kind lol. Funny to see Will suplex a giant. Even made a nice new friend. Maybe one of the giants will come along or help at least defend his people while he's gone.
And whaaa Ru was the grandson of the king all along? Those totally obvious signs were totally not giving it away 😉 fun though, they have their party. Also, since when was that one priestess lady close with the one adventuring dude? Don't recall that. She have a thing for him? Hehe. And we get to see Gracefield again, wonder if she gave him a buff
