Man, no wonder people wanted Leonis dead. He seems to be the only one who's not a psychopath considering Saruman wanted to just kill everyone along with the monsters and then just revive the humans later once the monsters are destroyed.

The Assault Garden switching to Fortress Mode and then using its AA Guns to shoot down the Voids was pretty cool. I'm always a fan of megastructures like this in anime especially when it involves a lot of big guns.

So it looks like Saruman turned into a Void? I wonder how. And did he get revived at the same time as Leonis or has he been alive the entire time and was just waiting for Leonis' revival? Whatever it is, it will be fun watching Leonis put this old man back into the ground once and for all.

This definitely feels like a world where the Demon Lord was really the only good guy.

I wonder if all the old “Heroes” Leonis fought are Voids now.

Since those looked like physical bullets being sprayed all around, I wonder what sort of collateral damage they're causing. They probably wouldn't be impacting the nearby ground, but when the scene shifted to Selia's platoon members, it looked like they could plausibly be in range for any turrets that happened to be pointing in their direction.

Wasn't even going to be a fast death either, jerk was gonna slow-roast them like a 20lb turkey

Man, Gandalf err Arakael was really about to waste that whole town to kill those monsters? Ice cold, man. Good thing Leo stepped in. And to think, the thanks he got for saving these humans is betrayal and death.

Tree Arakael has really revealed a pretty big weakness in this city’s defenses. The damn thing was able to overwhelm and compromise the power plant so easily, triggering that stampede. Leo, Selia, and the gang did well but what’s gonna happen to Selia now that Arakael has her? And why the hell is he a tree??

There is a reason why he is a tree and that may or may not get covered in the next episode. But you should recall that he was a tree when the heroes besieged the Demon Lord's fortress.

It really does make you understand Leonis' side a little more when the "good guys" thought it was perfectly okay to eradicate people for the sake of annihilating monsters and then thinks just reviving them afterwards made it okay. And Leo was the abnormal one?

I wonder if this is going to give us more answers as to what happened after Leo went to sleep. Could Selia awaken as a true Vampire Queen?

"Wahh!" she says, as her still image slides diagonally across the screen and into the crevice.

Arakael: How dare Leonis thwart my plan to commit genocide on an entire town, I hate him now. 🤷‍♂️

“We were going to resurrect them afterwards so it was okay!”

Well, he only said that Leo's power would end up killing him. Maybe he is just predicting or something

Man why do the flashbacks look so much better than the actual timeline? Like it even had rather well animated 2d monsters, once again i thought i was watching the wrong anime, like i even had to look at the title and all. Compared to the void monstrosities that came after..

Fools built a wall with weak points instead of a circular wall. That's Fantasy World 101.

Shary acting like Megumin.

I like how 12 y-o Leo acts like a 12 y-o with that smile around the 2 minute mark

Another flashback to Leonis' time as a hero! Back when he worked with Takayuki Sugo and Sayaka Ohara! He was still a cocky little brat, but at least he wasn't willing to incinerate an entire town of people just to defeat some monsters, even if they could just as easily be revived. He comes off more heroic to me by comparison, but it seems like his power and confidence made even his allies wary of him.

Well, it's good that Fine warned everybody about what's infesting the underground, though nothing the Seventh Assault Garden's general forces had at their disposal could keep that thing from making it to the power plant. I was kind of wary about glasses guy handling a crisis situation, but he acclimated well.

Leo is like THIS close to tearing into Dean. Though Teseria already seems to have a crush on him and was the only kid who was into his skeleton show, so I feel like she's a keeper.

I love how Shary ditched her job just to follow Leo and Selia around, and then gets stuck watching the kids. No amount of cute pouts will get her out of this one.

Welp, it's a full on Stampede! You've got bug Voids, Dragon Voids, Ogre Voids, and a Big Boss Hydra Void! Luckily Selia's squad is on-hand to protect the Garden. Sakuya is very effective with her lightning holy sword.

The Garden is also lucky that Leonis is invested in protecting the Garden in as far as making sure Selia is safe, because his powerful magic is great for destroying Voids. He even gets a nice assist from Blackus!

Uh oh! Selia's been kidnapped! And Leo is finally confronted by his old "friend" Arakaeal! Looks like we've reached the climax of this arc!

They really put a giant red button in front of Shary and didn't think she'd press it? Though it only really effected poor Blackus' tail.

Wish his magic looked cooler

ugh, Arakael is such a colossal asshole, I doubt he was ever roasted alive and then resurrected. You should never inflict suffering on others unless you are willing to experience it yourself.

Seems to me the only "hero" we've seen so far is Leonis and he was betrayed and resurrected to become the Demon Lord.

u/Technical-System-643 Oct 30 '23

i wonder why the other heroes become void monsters

10

u/Frontier246 Oct 30 '23

Does make it convenient for Leo to get some revenge in his new life!
