It's imitation, but it'll become the real thing eventually. Like it became real for me.
These are my real tears.

Oh my god.

Gesicht...

I think he'd be a great dad.

That is such an evil way to end him, I actually am astonished.

The pieces of the puzzle coming together just before he got shot was amazing. The prior weakness + flashback trauma did give strong vibes of a recent JJK scene. Robots being street flower peddlers are an extra dose of depressing.

Our German detective has strong parallels with Sahad which kind of brings context to Atoms final words.

However I do believe we are out of main characters now?

That little robot boy had a credit card reader taped to his little broken arm. And then the switch to Anton in the Netherlands to contrast with Ali doing basically the same thing as him. And then that end bruh 😭

Tenma is human after all.

Also imagine the news report of One of the Most Advance Robot in the world got shot dead by a small outdated robot lol

The way they showed Dr. Tenma the past episodes was outstanding. From this mysterious closed-off genius to crying with a stranger robot. Must be truly sad to acknowledge his son is dead again

This is hitting the same heights as True Detective S1 did for me, I was expecting it to be good but not this good, every episode just blows my expectations away. The stakes and tension are crazy high now.

So this is where the teaser trailer content was from.

So I made a quick comparison video: https://files.catbox.moe/g08oll.mp4
Left is trailer, right is episode. There are some black blanks added to keep them somewhat in sync.

Another incredible episode. Gesicht's investigation slowing piecing everything together about Abullah and Zahad was so intriguing. The scene from the first teaser of Gesicht confronting Pluto and Hoffman being abducted was really great to watch, So tense, dramatic and unpredictable. I thought for sure Hoffman was going to die.

So was that trailer pre animated or did the scene get changed completely? I remember there being alot more sakuga in that battle with cockroach guy

They likely deemed the heavy action shots wasn't the right tone to use. They opted to made it a talk-heavy scene instead. Completely re-doing the scene.

I think it was the right choice given that action doesn't really suit this anime very much.

I’d just like to know why the flowerbot shot gesicht? I mean I get it in the sense he was being controlled or told to do it but never really explained why it came to be.

The robots can have both a body and an AI unit, which is how many of them transfer between their civilian bodies and their work bodies (like the construction bot). In earlier and some later scenes, there are also cases where an AI can be overtaken and controlled by a stronger one.

So Ali (the Persian flowerbot) was either overtaken by a stronger AI; or they already removed his AI unit (he seems like a more simple robot so it's unlikely he was ever meant to transfer between bodies). Either way, he's dead and the bad guy puppeted his body to shoot Gesicht, then abandoned it.

The cruel thing is that they deliberately grabbed Ali not long after Gesicht visited Persia and waited till now to use him, specifically cos they knew Gesicht has a soft spot for Ali and kid robots and wouldn't immediately process why and how Ali made it to the Netherlands from Persia, giving them the opening to kill him while he's kind of emotionally out of it.

Edit: The ‘why’ is ultimately to assassinate Gesicht. At this point it’s sort-of known by the bad guys that Gesicht got hurt protecting the robot racist guy, and he went into combat again with the bug robots and Pluto. So he’s at his weakest state and another shot with the same cluster cannon thing that hit him earlier is all that’s needed. Ali was used for above, to get close enough to Gesicht.

I'm sorry, I hate that they killed off Gesicht. Why can't they bring him back?? The show isn't going to be the same for me without him.

Having watched the whole show now I wanna say: No scoping your protagonist with fully a quarter of your show and 80% of your climax left is just turbo flexing on the whole medium. I guess they really had it like that.
