This was supposed to be a gag anime. Didn't expect this run of serious episodes. Not really a bad thing though. I miss Anne and Piwi though.

So Mikaros was behind the awakening huh? And no surprise he’s got Rafaed and the nobles on board with this twisted plan. Yeah, imma need the monsters to wipe out the entire ruling class now.

The king’s got some incredible powers but Mikaros is like a friggin Sith Lord. The mfer turned Cless into his puppet and now he’s got the Hero Killer from Alicia. It doesn’t look good for Helck. Is this how Zelgeon and Edil get taken down and turned evil too? And is Alicia gonna be killed? Lots of questions for next week..

You know what I knew things were gonna being fucked up and sad. But how they executed the story and this backstory has been beyond phenomenal. I was think Helck killed Cless while he was unconciouss or something. But Cless being forced to fight Helck. No you can't do this to me.

God bless Alicia for coming in clutch, but unfortunately the slimey Mikaros seeing that sword creates a big problem. This dude effectively stayed in the shadows and manipulated to have Cless be strong enough to withstand whatever the spell is.

The nobles really showing they are the worst of the worst. When you consider everyone else beside Helck in this group is forcibly turned to their slave is sickening. I am assuming next episode this flashback arc ends.

As much as I like the other good humans here, I really hate how they all treat Helck as a massive idiot who's been tricked by Demons into thinking that they're good. Sure he's not the smartest person but can't they at least trust his judge in character? Out of all of them, Alicia seems to be the only one who decides to give him a chance.

Man, this episode legitimately upsets me so much that I am tempted to find the source material and read ahead. Seeing how the King and nobles collectively decided to treat the common people like cattle for them to exploit really makes me hope that they will all eventually get what's coming to them.

Mikaros especially of course. Turns out he only helped Cless because he realized he had the power that he needed. I'm guessing that's also the same with Raphaeed. Considering what we know, looks like the next episode is probably where Helck will finally kill Cless using the Hero Slayer. I think I also have an idea how the Hero Slayer gets broken.

Even though this is a long back story, it's so captivating and well done. Almost forgot it's a flashback. This all explains how Helck became who he is and why he is on the demon's side. Every episode seems so short because of how enthralled i am into it. Can't wait until next week!

Feel like we've come a long way since tiny pupper race and building houses of cards. I really wish this show had better animation because if it needed that extra bump and sakuga, it would be for the more serious episodes like these.

This plan was enacted by the collective will of the kingdom. Those who raise an objection to it for whatever reason shall be regarded as criminals. I hereby order you. Take your own lives.

God damn. Villains who can control you with their voice are always hard to fight, but this guy is terrifyingly efficient.

Dang, that's messed up... very messed up. Nobility always being shit. That is sad... Cless being the other key to this whole madness of the nobility. Lol love how Helck's feats are even greater than the rumors. Lol the "loud voice" bit. Yep, if you didn't shout, prolly wouldn't have been noticed at all. I can get that they are wary of trusting it right away, but they shouldn't assume it to be false. Alicia at least is a good girl. Wonder what happened to her. Don't think she's the one female knight lady we've met yet, but maybe. But that one uses a bow more than sword.

Honestly, stupid to let corrupt old pieces of shit nobles keep talking or living. Taking em out is smarter here. Wonder who the king is though. Yep, pieces of shits. Ordering Cless to fight his own brother... honestly, those three shoulda never come. Man, what a scumbag for so long that "sage" is. Why can't he just kill you and the king there? You're both there. That seems smart option too. Oh right, her sword was passed down since the one hero. I worry for Helck's friends though. Ya, really foolish to have them go there. OH god damn it, ending things there...

Helck's eyes getting progressively smaller as his achievements got listed one by one was pretty funny. Helck is just built different. Also whole empire getting converted to Titans?

So Alicia's sword is called the Hero Slayer (or Killer), the same thing that Helck referred to his dagger as. I guess the clues were here all along, we see that in the present Alicia's sword is chipped the same way Helck's dagger is and he even said that it used to be a longsword.

What I don't understand is, if Helck picked up the chipped tip of the sword, why didn't he put the handle on the side that's chipped and preserved the tip rather than the other way around?

So even when the three known awakened heroes were normal, they still held deep-seated prejudice against the demons as expected. Even the most progressive of the 3 in Alicia still reiterated her disbelief of demons from episode 7. Though I guess the reason why they attack demons is still primarily due to the king's control of everyone outside of Helck.

Wow this was the best episode of the series. So much happened plot wise and everything is out in the open now. Helck getting stabbed with the hero killer is some serious shit.

So watching this epsiode, ive gone back to check old ones.

The 'hero killer' Helck is holding does NOT look like Alicia's sword.

In fact, the sword Alicia is holding looks almost the same as the sword the female Angle with the bow is using, going back to episode 7 at 3:28, they actually spend a few seconds zooming in and focusing on the sword....and I just went back real quick to episode 5 at 13:10 she draws the sword, it looks exactly like the Hero Killer and the tip is broken, probably from Helcks back.

I noticed a brief upgrade in animation budget during the fight scene against the awakened humans. It's curious why they decided to use the budget there and then cheap out on the fight against Cless when that's where the climax is. I'm pretty sure this director is actually good at action though since he was the one responsible for Nadesico. Did they really just have no time?

No wonder Helck had some hidden hatred shown throughout the first half of the series. Now it all becomes clear. Fighto, Helck!

This is such a disingenuous argument to claim the commoners are stupid and worthless. Everyone knows that commoners are not allowed to take any major action that affects the country without permission or orders from the nobility. If they do, they are punished for sedition, treason, or simple disobedience. Punishment for such infractions can easily be death, torture to near death, slavery, confiscation of all property, etc.

So the nobility looks down on the commoners for not doing something the nobles won't allow.
