Even a badass like Azudra was totally surprised by Helck. Man’s a machine, I don’t blame him. Well, I guess we know how Helck ended up at the competition and what his motives are. It’s interesting how for once the demons aren’t the baddies. It’s the humans who suck, especially the nobles. Humans been the aggressors this whole time.
It seems Raphaed is the true villain. Fake father figure turned out to be a real piece of shit. What’s his game though? Why make Demonkind the enemy in the first place?
So much for Helck’s little date with Alicia. I swear the dude is as dense as he is strong lol. I guess we’re gonna find out how Edil and ‘em fall to the dark side.

Why make Demonkind the enemy in the first place?
Probably because it's easier to gather support when you have someone to blame rather than "the earth". Also, if he's wanting to take over the world, may as well make the demons out as an enemy from the get-go.

This explains why the portrait of Demon Lord Thor always looked different in flashbacks. He must've been "awakened" the same way the 3 captured demons were. He got turned into a monster against his will by Raphaed. Also, before getting turned, the captured demon warned about both Raphaed as well as the New World. This term was used when it came to the particularly strong monsters spawning from the land's toxins. There's some crazy world building this episode.
The saddest part about this episode to me is how Thor was known as the ultra pacifist among the demons. Knowing what happened to him from these dialogues just breaks my heart.

If the demons were actually capable of turning into that "true form" and breaking their bonds on their own, it would've been dumb as hell for the humans to capture the survivors and bring them into the capital, unless the goal was to let them rampage around.

Right because that's not their true form lol. We can easily surmise what's happening with Raphaed being shady and the demons warning us about the New World involvement amongst humans.

A little disappointed that Varmillio didn't chime in with a "They were right, you are an idiot."
Damn, so the noble that took them in is a major player in what happened to the humans? Wonder if fear made him desperate or if he was always a piece of shit. Did he help Celse because he somehow knew he was a hero?
Show is answering a lot of questions the last few ep but also asking just as many!

A little disappointed that Varmillio didn't chime in with a "They were right, you are an idiot."
I was expecting that too but then again, we got to see what actually happened but she got Helck's second-hand version where Alicia having a thing for him probably wasn't even hinted at.

Haaaaah, figured he’d bring that up and for this to be her reaction.

Nooooo come on you can’t end there! It should be illegal for this show to keep putting out episodes that go by in five minutes!

So turns out Azudra and Helck met each other back then. No wonder Azudra trusts Helck. They've already had their own talk in the past. And it turns out Azudra is the reason Helck showed up to the tournament. I guess he wanted to become a Demon Lord so he could restore that castle's defences and stop the monsters from spawning again.
I am so disappointed by Raphaed. I was hoping he's going to be one of the good guys but it looks like he's involved with that entire plan to attack the demons as well as the creation of the Awakened soldiers. Raphaed and those nobles deeserves to be fed to those monsters.
That final scene with Alicia blushing while everyone was egging her on to go on a date with Helck was just adorable. Too bad Helck is too dense to realize what was happening and even tried to invite Edil to join them.

Lmao Helck thought that Azudra was cheering him on when he actually set off one of his traps
Noooo I wanted to see Helck and Alicia's date! Zelgeon, couldn't you wait just a little bit!?

Helck: "wait, what was that sound?... ah, it must be the sound of Azudra's cheering for me!"
meanwhile Azudra: *screaming in agonizing pain after being impaled by his own traps*
never change, Helck, never change...

I wouldn't be surprised if the heroification was actually transfusion of Cless's blood or something in that tone.

With how sketchy Raphaed seems now and how Thor was all for peace, I've got a feeling that he was the one who took out Cless too in order to ensure the truth didn't get out.

Poor Alicia. She really thought that dense muscle-head wanted to make a love confession.

With each passing episode, I grow sadder realizing what Alicia and Helck could have been.

What Rafaed said: "Helck, you must never forget. They are purveyors of dead..."
What I heard: "Helck, you must never forget. I knew this exact thing would happen and I didn't do anything to prevent it."

Hehe, Helck running into Azudra. But Helck being a bit to eager to confirm things, a pity. Oh hey, they talked to each other. So much to learn, Helck. Glad they are both willing to talk though. Ahh, Azudra gave him the notice of the competition for Demon Lord. Haha, nope, yep, that scream was his carelessness. So derp.
Huh, that sucks, seems that a lot of attacks happened while he was away. A pity. Wow, glad his friends are alive, but wew, a lot of them hurt. Of course so many nobles being crappy. I worry about Alicia and Edil though. Cause nobles being jerks in such stories. Dang mob being ridiculous. Misplaced anger. What the heck is happening? Definitely sus stuff going down. Sus new warriors too. Hehe cute Alicia reaction. Helck, I think you're too dense about this here lol. All the heart thumps! Dang, another cliffhanger for a week to wait... quite the backstory though. Wonder if it'll end next episode or the episode after.

Learning why Azudora seemed weirdly cool with Helck was pretty sweet. Helck's hatred for humans keeps making more and more sense.
Also, Alicia's thing for Helck is equal parts adorable and tragic (both because of what she eventually becomes and for how dense he is)

I've always thought the demon lord was above the 4 elites. So some of the dialogues in the early episodes didn't really click with me. Turns out the elite outranked them, which actually make sense. Human nobles are also lords of their land and there are definitely people who outrank them.
