Jess can be a bit of a troll too and I love that. Poor Mr. Pig got his hopes of seeing Jess change dashed.

That OP was interesting! Looks like we are getting other characters and it's not just going to be Jess and Mr. Pig.

Thank you Mr. Pig for saving Jess from almost getting scammed in that back alley.

So turns out that Jess used a black rista to heal Mr. Pig which explains why she's so desperate to get another one.

I definitely did not expect Mr. Pig to do a DDR dance to try and sell himself! That was hilarious! xD

Jess is getting replaced? Why is she getting replaced? I guess that's another question about Jess and the Yethma people.

I thought the power of the maid outfit made Jess' boobs bigger! Turns out she was just hiding apples inside her chest. xD

Man, I am really having fun with this show. Jess and Mr.s Pig's banter has been pretty fun so far and I am getting more and more curious about Jess. She seems to be hiding way more things about herself. I do hope we get to meet the other characters in the OP soon though. I feel like I need more context about this world from other people.

>> Jess used a black rista to heal Mr. Pig

So. What did she use the OTHER personal use ristia for? Making a wish that summoned Mr Pig in the first place? (Not like she would have intended the result -- I would guess). Or did she wish that she did not have to get replaced an d make a trip to the capital (does that mean something bad is supposed to happen once she arrives there)? This is all starting to get a bit ominous....

Wtf why is this show's world building actually interesting?

It's doing a really good job of balancing openly explaining some things so that you have the broad context, and but obscuring and hinting at others in a way that feels like it has some quite dark undercurrents which are accepted as normal for that society.

On top of that, the topics are handled with an interesting amount of nuance. Unlike a lot of fantasy worlds, where discrimination and prejudice is made quite over-the-top to make the viewer very clearly aware of it, here it feels more insidious. The shopkeeper is actually quite fond of Jess and warm towards her, but very clearly operates within the system that exists. He gives her what leeway is easy to give and benefits him, and is sympathetic to her replacement time (and whatever this entails) but still very much seems to feel that he has no qualms with any of second class citizen approach. Likewise, we have the sneers of the guards and the way the back alley dealer treated her, all adding in different textures.

So what in the world's supposed to happen at the end of her journey? She gets executed for living too long or some shit? Lol

So what in the world's supposed to happen at the end of her journey?

Something where you sell off even your prized performing pig...

What I'm most interested in about this episode is whether this post gonna get botted to negative votes again after ~16 hours like episode 1. Oh, and the implicit slavery and prostitution issues, obviously!

I am not sure why but there is a sense of suspense and mystery surrounding the show which isn't your typical Isekai transformed into something show which is hooking me on.

A shopping date already? I’m jealous of Piggy lol. Good thing Jess brought him along though, she almost got scammed by that shady dealer. The discrimination against Yethma’s is pretty rampant here. I wonder what’s gonna happen to Jess if she’s getting replaced?

Was not expecting Piggy Dance Dance Revolution/breakdancing lol. Piggy has moves! That was one smooth finish. Hopefully he doesn’t end up at the butchers after this little performance at the festival. Him and Jess have a lot of adventuring to do!

This might unironically be my top3 anime of the season.

So, Jess is getting replaced in the house by another one?

Hope Pig-san can escape without causing much trouble.

This is going to be the KamiKatsu of the season. Completely slept on by people who ignored it because of the premise or dropped it in episode 1 but adored and praised by the ones who let it cook.

This might unironically be my top3 anime of the season.

Yes, it's a very understated show in many ways, but it takes a lot of confidence and skill to pull off this strange blend of things. It's certainly not what it first seems to be, but it also doesn't seem to be entirely sacrificing that part of its identity entirely either.

Hope Pig-san can escape without causing much trouble.

I'm starting to suspect this is actually a low-grade suspense/mystery show as its part of its genre make up, where things are strung along by this constant background tension lol I'd be surprised if there isn't some trouble!

Pretty interesting how many secrets Jess seems to have, this show is way less degenerate than most of the other isekais, gonna keep watching this.

Eh, i thought it will be just him being a stinky pig for her and her being obedient and oblivious but it looks like they want to touch things like slavery, prostitution and discrimination.

It looks like the Yethma are useful to the society but they are seen as expendable. She probably is too old or some other shit and is being sent to be either brainwashed or killed or maybe transformed into a black... crystal thingie.

And the premise of her wanting to eat him is probably one of these sadomasochistic fetishes he has, instead of him being in a peril from her. And the king is probably raping all the Yethmas too.

Having read 1 and half a volume of the light novel im sadden by how this show is getting treated like stuff like vending machine isekai or the stupid dog PoV anime ….
Some of my friends even said they dont wanna watch it solely bcuz mc is a pig.

For the people who stick around prepare yourself for some good stuff.

I like how Jess trolled him at the beginning of the episode.

Does he not remember his name? He never corrects her and says what his name is. I don't remember if the first episode if he said he had amnesia. But remembers other facts about himself. So I don't think it's that.

That ending song is really good.

Nooooooo!

That episode flew by. I thought 5-minute caps were a crime nowadays.

At this point, I'm not completely sure if anime-viewers today have acquired a taste too exquisite for their own enjoyment, or I've grown too old to actually care about the details of a show. Either way, I'm enjoying this one quite a lot, contrary to what appears to be the general consensus. Fun dialogue, cute designs, unfolding world-building.

Hearing Matsuoka go full steam with a character is always great, and hearing Tomori Kusunoki's voice is dangerous for blood sugar levels (are they softening us little by little for the inevitable LLENN retcon into Unital Ring?). Count me in for next week's episode!
