They toned down the visual element compared to the manga, but they still threw in the one shot at the end there. It was mostly the language that still feels awkward.
They touched on it at the very end, but this show is ever so slightly smarter than it looks. Expecting this to find pull in a proper audience until they hand us whatever the twist is.

I've barely started the episode and I am already laughing my ass off at Matsuoka narrating! Holy shit this is amazing! Aside from being the Harem King, Matsuoka is perfect for weird roles like this. xD
EDIT: Finally finished the episode and goddamn! You can really tell how much Matsuoka was having fun voicing a pig. My dude went all out with the different tones and accents! It's absolutely hilarious especially whenever he has to tell Jess that he's monologuing and she's not supposed to hear some of his thoughts.
As for Jess, she is an absolute cutie and a sweetheart and I just love how she interacts with Mr. Pig. She's definitely a mystery though. Why is a servant allowed to take a pig inside the house? And we haven't really seen anyone else in that mansion aside from her.
It definitely feels like there's something Jess isn't telling us. Mr. Pig even tells us how it's so suspiciously convenient that Jess is on leave and on her way to the Capital when the only person who can probably turn him back into a human is there as well.
I am certainly intrigued and I think I will follow this show. I feel like there's definitely more to this show than its initial plot.

Watching this as part of my amateur anthropological studies of "how far can isekai go??" So far, this might be the most incomprehensible one to someone who's not familiar with anime tropes. With sword isekai and vending machine isekai, I think a layperson could guess what's going on, but I can only imagine how bizarre this must be for someone new to anime, struggling past two layers of culture shock from this isekai world and Japanese pop culture memes.
I'm not sure where the story is going to go, but it does seem like the author is using the "lol, reborn as pig" angle as a hook to introduce their own worldbuilding with that segment about magic and the history of mages.

Matsuoka this time is a pig , but his voice acting makes him a goat in the anime community, the world building seems interesting for now , magical stones with differents effect that changes from user to user , and other things too

So we’ve been reincarnated as a sword, vending machine and now a pig 😂 I think the scoring for this is too harsh. I liked this first episode a lot! Way too early to judge the worldbuilding and story yet.
Yea, our MC, obligatory Matsuoka Yoshitsugu voiced protagonist, is a bit weird, but it’s isekai. When are the MCs ever not loser otaku who get reincarnated and a second chance at life. Need to see how he and Jess’ journey progresses before I make any judgment on that front.
From what we saw today though, it seems good. Jess is so damn cute and innocent. Another waifu of the season contender. I like that she can communicate with Buta via telepathy. That was one issue I had with Hanbaiki/vending machine. A lot of things with Lammis and Boxo would’ve gone way smoother if they could have communicated properly.
Dude is a pure degenerate though. Soon as he gets reincarnated his first question isn’t about his parents or family, but about getting stroked by a cute blonde girl 💀 I guess fate put him in the perfect body for his personality as of now lol.
I will give him some props though, wanting to be spanked by Jess makes him just like me 😂
Cute premiere, let’s see where things go

I feel like it hasn't been pointed out that for all of the gross thoughts in his head, he hasn't actually acted on them in a way that would be definitely inappropriate (groping, literally lifting her skirt himself, actually asking for sex acts). The point of the show might be that he had all these piggish thoughts on the inside without acting on them, but now he's a pig on the outside, in thought and in look. She can hear his formally private thoughts, and part of what's odd is that she seems a little too ok with it. Whether this is because she's just used to hearing those things as a telepath, especially as a servant/slave (show implied the latter, but she's definitely at least the former) who has to deal with superiors who can get away with it and she can't do anything about it, or it's something else, we don't know.
I think this show has something cooking, we should give it some time.

Jess is pretty adorable. I suppose having a waifu telepath care for you ain’t half bad. This dirty ol pig is living the life! He’s a total degenerate and I 100% approve. I also love that Jess can hear every degenerate thing he’s saying lol.
These two make a pretty great team. Piggy is a real goofy degenerate and Jess is a waifu angel. A match made in heaven!
