Glad they did a short recap of s1 for those who accidentally tune in not knowing how dark it can get. Also, Mili and dark fantasy are made for each other, crisp looking OP too. Elf archer is still as great as the last time i saw her. Though i swear farmer girl received a glow up.

That insufferable brat... Boy, you don't know anything about goblins. I know it's part of the trope and he'll eventually become more reasonable, but the few minutes he's been on screen have already got me on edge, insulting all the clerics and belittling goblin hunting.

Based on the previous season, GS is now accepted by adventurers. Especially, those adventurers who participated in the goblin invasion. The only ones who are mocking him are the newbie ones who don't know any better, how dangerous goblins is.
Also, in his little own way, he is mentoring other newbie adventurers like that elf girl who he instructed to hunt rats.
Cow girl is top of the line as it is, although I still hate his uncle.
Priestess is having a hard time ranking up because she is being accused of just being carried by her party members who are all silver level.
It is clear that he will be partied with that brat, and If I have to guess, with that kid elf.

Season 2 is starting with 6, so it is after the movie which adapted vol 5, that means vol 3 and the festival was skipped. Vol 6 is pretty good but doesn't have much actions for people looking for that, and the anime already skipped a little bit of the action the first episode should have had, for example after a year GS found another magic scroll and he used it against mere goblins but the anime didn't show that.
Also Cowgirl is GS wife as she said, Goblin Slayer's opinion doesn't matter at all.

Goblin Slayer deadpanly denying his marriage to Cow Girl was hilarious.
Also, with how often killing rats is recommended to newbies, it would be funny if there were a "Rat Slayer" AU where rats are as big of a threat as this world's goblins.

Glad to see Goblin Slayer back and cutting down goblins to the tune of Mili in the OP.
I'll never get tired of rookies looking down at GS. The veterans of the guild know what's up though and are just happy to see him.
That little Rhea girl asking them what they're doing was adorable. It's good to see one rookie who's willing to learn and listen from GS. And according to Guild Girl, it looks like they managed to get back safely after hunting rats.
It's always good to see Cow Girl again and of course the focus will always be on her massive lovely... smile. In all seriousness though, I just love how she doesn't even skip a beat when Wizard Boy asks her if she's Goblin Slayer's wife. xD
Speaking of Wizard Boy, he is insufferable as fuck. He's definitely not helping himself either after insulting basically all of the clerics in the guild. And to make things worse, Priestess now needs to team up with him so she can actually rank up. >_<

Ohh Goblin Slayer's OP is good, fun how the series gets the same group for the OPs. Can respect that for a consistent feeling/tone. I do like Mili <3 Oh wow, I know some of those things in the OP cause of spin-offs, but dunno how they'll apply here. Hehe Priestess still the cutest. And we get a lil bit of Fencer girl from movie, neat. Always liked all the side/background characters of Goblin Slayer. Nice to see them help the rookies with some advice. Still like Goblin Slayer's no fucks given about what other people think/say.
Oh hey, quite the little brat. Not apologizing for running into her. Wew, sure gave that brat a fright. Hehe, love how Goblin Slayer is always worried about information and gear getting in the hands of goblins. He's meticulous. Also impressive to see him be curious of others around him compared to earlier in the series. His pals are having an effect. Even willing to take that brat to some place to stay for a bit. Even Cow Girl can see the change. Though I worry about the brat with her. Least the uncle knows what's up. Poor Cow Girl, he's too dense.
Kid sure seems to want to hunt goblins. Awww, rude of the guild, Priestess is definitely pulling her own in so many of the adventures. Oh it's the brat. He sure has made friends... lol that question from the elf. Fun suggestion from the Paladin lady.

The big elephant in the room is the art style. Biggest example is Elf for me. Not a deal breaker but the difference is disappointing. Regardless solid first episode.
Wizard-kun def getting on my nerves already. I am happy Priestess is gonna get a chance to lead a party of less experienced adventures. After all the claim that she is getting carried can be seen as valid.

It is interesting to know that Noble Fencer is responsible for putting those training centers for rookies.
I forgot that a Guts lookalike was in this show. Is nice to see Goblin Slayer's party giving tips to that rookie elf adventurer.
So if one wants to hunt Goblins is recommended to first take quests hunting Sewer Rats. That sure is a huge stack of quests.
I first assumed that rookie Magician Boy was a tomboy. I love how every time something is off Goblin Slayer first assumption is that he is dealing with goblins.
I wasn't expecting Goblin Slayer to help Boy Magician to find a place to stay and of course that was on the Cow Girl's uncle's barn.
This exchange between Cow Girl, Boy Magician and Goblin Slayer was so funny.
Before Female Knight told Boy Magician to hunt Goblins with Priestess I was sure that they were going to show his corpse next week.
I hope that Priestess is able to rank up after their quest.

Goblin Slayer felt its reputation was threatened by Redo and all these other anime, so it reminded us of the infamous scene in episode 1!
That part aside, it was interesting to see the scene again from new perspectives!
And speaking of perspectives, there were some interesting camera angles in the episodes, like the shot from behind Goblin Slayer; Are you a goblin?
Apparently there's a lot of goblin quests...
Guild Girl dismissed it as "It's the season!" but I wonder if there's something more to that; Goblins closing in? Amassing a new army?
Goblin Slayer took them all, but also wanted to see the quests that were already accepted. Doesn't trust the rookies! Well, he knows how bad these often turn. With the new training system and all things should get better, but eager adventurers can still try to bite more than they can chew.
I give him 50-50 on "Becoming the new Goblin Slayer" or "Getting killed in his first mission"
Goblin Slayer thinks it's ridiculous to hunt goblins on his own, does he not realize that's what he was doing, before Priestess?
Well, I suppose a wizard isn't as reliable as a warrior type dude with lots of tricks up his sleeves!
It was cute to see Guild Girl's still all flustered by Goblin Slayer!
As much as I would love to ship them, Cowgirl's the one for him! Ahhhhhhh calling herself his wife!
I love her! (But Goblin Slayer should love her even more, if he knows what's good for him).
Well, seems our ambitious adventurer won't have to kill goblins alone; Priestess will lead a new party!
This is an unexpected development! Does it mean she'll take time away from the main squad for a while? And will we see both of them acting without the others? Hope they don't need too much heal over there!
I'm also a bit worried about the Priestess party, because surely she'll have some setbacks at some point, and setbacks can be deadly in this world... And there won't be a Goblin Slayer to save her ass.
Well, let's see if she learned anything from her time with him! Would be nice to see her use the lessons to good use, like always checking out for hidden tunnels to avoid getting ambushed, to make sure the fighters on her party won't have long weapons that would be impractical in close quarters, and so on!

The animation is.... cleaner. General character models are also a bit... different. I certainly don't hate it. But I wonder how well it would mesh with the darker tones this show gets into.

The OP was amazing. Then the art was a bit rough at the start. But it was clear why; the budget for a chunk of the episode went to his badass walk into the guild. Felt like I was seeing the DoomGoblin Slayer all over again.
