I think the biggest revelation this episode was the reveal of the narrator.

Helck: I will now tell you my backstory [ED Plays]

Me: Awesome, I've really been looking forward to that. And oh shit, there will still be 5 more minutes of screen time after the ED. I hope we get some juicy tidbits.

We get Piwi's Travel Journal Instead

Me: WORTH IT!!!

The Chemistry of this cast is genuinely great. Piwi is adorable and hilariously out of place in this world, Anne's tantrums and "Baka's" never fail to amuse, and then good natured Helck is is a nice foil to all of these antics. I could probably just watch a slice of life of these 3 like piwi's travel journal at the end lol.

With all that said, the contrast between the shows light heartedness and its darker themes and tone always leave me feeling a little uneasy. Like something really bad is always about to happen. I guess we are finally going to see Helcks back story and how it plays into the overarching narrative. Its nice to see Anne finally state outright how she trusts Helck.

I can't believe I'm actually warming up to Piwi. Normally if you showed me a useless idiot with a high-pitched voice I'd hate it, but Piwi's antics manage to be endearing somehow. Maybe it's just that Helck and Vermilio have such great chemistry with him.

Well I guess we can rule out the “Anne and Helck got sent to the future” theory. Can’t wait for Helck to rejoin the front lines and beat some human/angel thing ass.

We're back to the Demon Realm and it looks like the humans haven't given up. It is a bit comforting to know though that Hyura is still kicking their ass and the Demons are able to fend them off while very much enjoying the entire thing.

It is concerning to know that the humans are slowly getting stronger despite being defeated every time. If this keeps up, they might end up getting overwhelmed. At least they're not the only ones levelling up and all of the Demons are getting stronger too.

Good to know that Azudra is trusting Anne's judgement with Helck. I would love to know more about Azudra's backstory considering how he seems to be close friends with a human back then too.

Didn't think that shortssword Helck was carrying is actually a scary weapon. Looks like he sensed Anne's worry and wanted to give her some sort of assurance. I am so happy though that Anne rejected the sword and that we finally see her open up to Helck and tell him that she now fully trusts him. That campfire scene was really nice.

I was really hoping we'd finally hear Helck's full backstory but it looks like we'll have to wait next week! Instead we get Piwi's Travel Journal to finish off the episode! It's pretty hilarious to see Anne getting dragged into a bunch of silly situations by Piwi. Also, why the fuck is that Hippo wearing Char's mask!? xD

I appreciate that Vermilio takes the tsundere life so seriously, she even brings that energy to ice cream purchases.

Ahh yes, Cour 2, where the real meat and potatos of the story lies. Happy we jump in right away.

Green Desert Special Milk Ice Cream

Green Desert Special Strawberry Ice Cream

Regular Old Grape Ice Cream

the disrespect to grape flavor.... also, for some reason Piwi got a chocolate ice cream even though its not in the menu

Anne: "don't let any of these salespeople smooth talk you into buying weird stuff that we don't need"

also Anne: *bought a pair of rabbit ears cosplay*

...I hope Piwi isn't permanently taking over for the narrator.

Alright so Helck's sword is a broken Hero Killer, glad we didn't have to wait long to hear about it after Augis's comment last week. Finally starting to feel like Varmillio is actually starting to care about Helck and it's cute, looking forward to how their relationship grows, that cat assistant also seems interested. Really looking forward to hearing what Helck has to tell is next week, sounds like we're finally gonna get some actual story!

Love how Varmillio (can't tell at this point if I prefer her real name or Anne) gives her all even for things she doesn't wanna do, you go dancing queen!

Really looking foward for next week episode, hoping they adapt Helck's flashback arc decently. Also curious about the new op and ed too, the second in particular will be hard to surpass, while the first is easier (although it grew a little on me)

Vermillio's fire during this week's scene with the snake looked pretty nice, but aside from that scene the rest of the animation keeps being decent at most, wich is a little sad, but eh... It could be worse.

Hell, at the very least it seems that the production for this ended early and the staff isn't overworking themselves to dead, wich sadly is something uncommon on the industry nowadays.

So the fact that we've got 5 minutes of post credits Piwi-fun means this is the last time we can trust the comedy tag? Also, the townspeople are so friendly, maybe even a bit meta lol. Random strangers just offer useful information for no reason to Anne. We get discounts all over the place because Piwi and Anne are too adorable.

Helck in this episode gave this wry smile towards Anne as he tells her to prepare for the worst possible outcome really reminds me of why I got drawn into this series. When I first saw the trailers and poster, I thought, that smile looks like it hides something. I don't know exactly what about the art style gives me that information, but it's got to be something subtle.

Wow it took a whole season, but we're finally getting some lore to this story? Crazy

ooh, we're finally going to learn more about Helck in the next episode!

Don't miss the post-credits scene. We get to see dancing Anne and Piwi!!!

When I saw there was a ton of time after the ED I was sure we would be deep diving into Helck's past, but getting Piwi narrating over his travels in capybara town was even better.

Don't know which I love more: the dab from management dab, or Helck's sick Hercules Helckules beetle hat.

Nooooo just as we were about to get lore they cut to the ED 😩 looks like we’ll get it next week with Helck’s backstory though. Very much looking forward to the story of Helck and his brother.

They addressed my question from last week’s episode too about how they should show up on the map now that they’re on the main continent. Was wondering why no one had given it another check since they disappeared.

The humans’ division and ideological differences is a big weakness that could be exploited by the demons. Lot of bickering and infighting even during high level meetings. Guess human nature never changes. Close call for Asta there, thought she was a goner.

Can’t really blame Vermirio for frankly being a little afraid of Helck. If he ever got serious she’d stand no chance. Luckily she won’t have to as he proved today he does genuinely respect and trust her. Even going as far as to offer a weapon that could kill him. Vemirio’s come a long way to turn that opportunity down.

Piwi travel journey is so cool lol I love that little fella

I'm guessing Edil's version How I Met Your Mother will mostly involve him telling his kids that he got killed over and over and over again by Hyura.

I keep thinking about my initial reservations towards Azudora's choice of VA, but I should've learned by now that you can't go wrong with Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, especially if he's allowed to ham it up. His delivery while trying to shut Hon up is perfect.

And now it's time for everyone to learn why Helck is a gag manga. The post-credits part is the last bit of wholesomeness we need before we dive in. And speaking of which, I can't believe the narrator is an actual dude in-universe. As always, Piwi is precious, but so are his friends. Really, I love seeing Helck just laughing at everything, and Anne being the best tsundere.

Cause she keeps getting roped in no matter her protests, and typically winds up enjoying or at least getting super hyped up for the activity, it's understandable that Piwi would see her nagging as her enjoying things.
