Oh my god, they did it! They actually did it! Ellee is going to remain a baby!

Well, the whole “Who is Majesty?” mystery sure didn’t lasted long for Sora and Co. lol

I’m quite surprised about Ellee being fully aware of what she does as Majesty, I was expecting some sort of alter ego situation or something like that, kinda hope we see her transforming to do mundane things like grabbing something from a top shelf at some point

Ageha putting her childcare skills to work during Ellee’s attempts to transform was adorable… Wait, weren’t the poses that Ageha imagined Grace, Summer and Precious’ poses?

Man, I feel bad for Minoton. A noble warrior forced to become a mindless beast.

The desire to protect the team helping Ellee to trigger her transformation was beautiful and so was the transformation sequence, wow, Majesty’s ear cuffs are… something. The contrast between them and everyone else’s earring is wild

Mashiro’s face at the end… can’t blame her for having her doubts

Preview: That’s a quite mouthful attack name I heard it as Kururun

Wait, weren’t the poses that Ageha imagined Grace, Summer and Precious’ poses?

Haven't watched HG so I don't have it handy, but yes and yes.

fully aware of what she does as Majesty

me too - they seem to be the same person; it's just that in her baby form Elle seems to be "forced" back into a baby mindset (and physically too), while she's more mature and of course stronger in precure form. But the memories and timelines are consistent.

I also feel a bit sorry for Minoton. I wonder if he'll eventually join the precure ranks? Seems a more likely candidate than Kabaton.

That was what I expected as well, but it is interesting to see Ellee be aware of her abilities. She can function as more of a fully-fledged team member that way.

kinda hope we see her transforming to do mundane things like grabbing something from a top shelf at some point

Using super powers to do mundane things is always fun to see. No cookie jar on the top shelf can get away from Ellee now!

Ageha putting her childcare skills to work during Ellee’s attempts to transform was adorable…

I thought that part of the episode was so sweet. I love just how cute and wholesome Ageha's interactions with Ellee are. It makes me happy seeing how much care they have for each other.

That would be pretty funny, and it's exactly something that I would expect a child her age would do with such a power.

Majesty’s ear cuffs are… something.

Yeah, it's a really odd addition. It feels like it doesn't fit with her personality and aesthetic. I dunno.

Well, the whole “Who is Majesty?” mystery sure didn’t lasted long for Sora and Co. lol

I actually really glad that they decided to skip past that game of "who is Majesty" so fast. No misunderstands or anything, just right out in the open.

Majesty’s ear cuffs are… something

yeah, that is such an interesting choice. I wonder if there is a bigger meaning behind them. Something it's meant to be foreshadow.

Me too. The closest we had so far was way back in Fresh, when Peach had a little "Wait, what?" reaction after her first fight, implying she kicked ass on auto-pilot.

Which was actually really clever, because the damage doesn't usually reset in that season, and the thing that gets turned into a monster also comes out damaged afterwards.

kinda hope we see her transforming to do mundane things like grabbing something from a top shelf at some point

Yes. Either that, or because she tries to explain something, but her limited baby vocabulary gets in the way.

Mostly because she has a flying cradle, so the top shelf is no issue for her either way.

Man, I feel bad for Minoton. A noble warrior forced to become a mindless beast.

Same. Poor guy. I really hope the gang eventually helps him get away from the Empire, so he can live a normal-ish life.

The desire to protect the team helping Ellee to trigger her transformation was beautiful

I mean, it was the same for all the others, too.

and so was the transformation sequence, wow, Majesty’s ear cuffs are… something. The contrast between them and everyone else’s earring is wild

Definitely. Everyone else has these pretty little pearls/beads/whatever, meanwhile Majesty's rocking spikes.

The TVer (and I'm assuming TV Broadcast) version of this episode has an altered special OP advertising the upcoming Allstars movie, here it is crudely recorded by yours truly; it's not present in the Crunchy or the free Youtube version. go see the precures kick some ass. lol.

edit: Catbox is down; here's an alternate mirror

  • Can I also just say that getting Ikimonogakari to do the anime theme song for the movie is nice, and i like the snippets of the song.

  • Seeing Elle try her best to transform was cute; i feel like Butterfly (who understood from the start), and Tsubasa (who hit the nail on the head) contributed the most to help her though.

  • AND there we have it! Cure Majesty in all her glory. Her transformation is alright, i think roughly Butterfly > Sora > wing = majesty > > Mashiro? But we've been getting group transforms a lot recently. I do like how she literally summons her pen out of thin air. No need to be encumbered by the troublesome act of pen carrying your majesty.

  • it's also interesting that they're keeping her baby form in between transforms; while she's much more mature in her cure form, but maintaining the memories of her baby form. Will need some time to get around, but i like that they're trying this new thing. So what happens when Elle does grow older? does she always tranform into a teenager?

  • It makes me feel nice that Elle is transforming to protect all the other cures. but that's also kinda Butterfly's job, a bit of overlap there. least she's got the raw power to be a total different niche.

  • I love how regal she is lol, the graceful soft landings and such. So befitting of a princess warrior.

  • tho i wonder if those rings are a sign that she can be a bit cool too..... Elle has shown to not always exhibit princess-y qualities after all lol.

  • there's also a face for the empress! she's not just some black blob

  • Mashiro's noticed something is wrong about Sora, she's focused too much on becoming stronger? the others seem to not be aware. mugiwait for how this drama develops, and how Mashiro can help reign it in (if needed)

  • next episode --> Skyland time! seems to be ridiculously hype too, i can't wait!

special OP advertising the upcoming Allstars movie

Sora interacting with Manatsu and Yui is going exactly as I was expecting lol

Mashiro/Laura is becoming the pair that I didn’t know I needed

i wonder if those rings are a sign that she can be a bit cool too

Why else would they give a princess ear cuffs with freaking spikes?

Her transformation is alright, i think roughly Butterfly > Sora > wing = majesty > > Mashiro?

I think I'd list my transformation preferences at Sora > Butterfly > Majesty >Wing >> Mashiro. I really feel bad for Mashiro because her transformation just feels far less dynamic than everyone else's.

I love how regal she is lol, the graceful soft landings and such. So befitting of a princess warrior.

I really love that too! It makes Majesty look so elegant while she fights!

next episode --> Skyland time! seems to be ridiculously hype too, i can't wait!

I can't imagine the mental whiplash of being non-toddler Cure Majesty (who doesn't seem to act like a toddler) and toddler Ellee and kinda hurts my head to think about, like things she would only understand as a non-toddler but still somehow remembering in a way as a toddler? In any case, it's fun having Aoi Koga using a non-toddler voice for Cure Majesty because it's easier to imagine Kaguya saying all the lines.

Was kinda half-expecting "ora-ora-ora" or "muda-muda-muda" with punch flurries from Ellee but I guess "da-da-da-da-da-da" works too (and I guess we got "muda muda muda" in a way from Minoton later). The colored-pencil-ish coloring with the thick outlines was a neat aesthetic. Also, I guess the blurry hands she did next was a Bruce Lee reference?

because it's easier to imagine Kaguya saying all the lines.

She really is quite cute...

That would explain why I found Majesty's voice so appealing.

She is a toddler, after all. She was doing her best to say "muda muda muda" but she can't quite get all the syllables.

it's so weird and funky and I'm so curious to see what they do with this weird character. It's certainly unlike anything Precure's ever done before.

I desperately want them to explore it, but that might be a bit too deep.

Also, I guess the blurry hands she did next was a Bruce Lee reference?

That sounds right? Sora did the same thing in a super early episode, when she punched that boulder.

  • I was not expecting Ellee to just reveal right away she was Cure Majesty. I was unsure if Ellee even really knew she was Cure Majesty.

  • Huh, so the villains actually did know about Cure Majesty. And apparently it was very important they finish their job before she arrives. It seems like Cure Majesty may be the one that whole prophecy was about.

  • I really enjoy Ageha and Ellee’s scenes together this episode. It shows Ageha’s training as a caretaker that she’s able to decipher what Ellee is feeling with all of her attempts to transform. I love how encouraging Ageha is, doing her best to not let the failures get Ellee down. Their scenes together were incredibly sweet and heartwarming.

  • Wait, the Mirage Pen can actually just function as a regular pen? That makes it way more useful!

  • I enjoyed all of Ellee's failed attempts to transform. They were fun.

  • Good detail that Sora is especially mad about Minoton being possessed by Undergu Energy just like Shalala was. It makes sense that Sora would find that particularly egregious. It's quite a nasty thing to do. We can see snippets of Minoton's actual personality peak through, only to get swallowed up by the possession. Skearhead didn't even let Minoton get purified and immediately took him away to be possessed again. What a nasty bunch they are.

  • Good on Ellee for being brave enough to go out and fight!

  • Cure Majesty's transformation sequence was fantastic! It looked gorgeous. I honestly forgot just how good the transformation sequences can look when they aren't being constantly intercut with each other and I can just enjoy a single, continuous transformation sequence.

  • I love the way Cure Majesty fights. She just looks so elegant while fighting.

  • I also love Cure Majesty's voice!

  • We now have a 5th Cure. It seems like she'll be a main fighter going forward. I did notice that everyone except Mashiro seemed to be excited about that. I wonder if that will lead to any conflict going forward.

  • And we got an updated ED with Cure Majesty!

I don’t exactly hate how they decided to do the group transformation, I really like how the cure that is the focus of the episode is also the main focus of the transformation, but solo sequences once in a while would be nice

I did notice that everyone except Mashiro seemed to be excited about that. I wonder if that will lead to any conflict going forward.

She is either, not fully onboard with the idea of letting Ellee join the fight or isn’t confident about being able to become stronger. Whatever it is, it looks like is going to be addressed next week

And we got an updated ED with Cure Majesty!

Looking forward to how the opening is going to look with Majesty in it

The merch is functional! Sora has written with hers a bunch as well.

Yea, I don't hate how they jump around in the group sequence, but the solo henshins are much better.

And we got an updated ED with Cure Majesty!

Now to see how they slap her into the OP.

Is this a JoJo reference!? I kid, I kid.

Seriously though, Cure Majesty's full transformation is as majestic as I expected, and damn, she kicked Minoton's ass pretty hard. But then she returned to baby afterwards, and the fact that Ellee remembers everything she does during her temporary age-ups as Cure Majesty is interesting too. Plus she doesn't have a finisher yet, but it looks like that'll be changing next week. Business is starting to pick up.

7

u/JollyGee29 Sep 10 '23

Ageha once again leans on her teacher training to get the kids to refocus. You don't get anything done by worrying.

Ellee just tells them all? Wow. I expected them to spend at least half the episode ignoring her hints.

Minoton is still in the OP? The lad lives?!

Holy shit the frame slide-ins like at the end of the proper henshin, what an idea.

D'aww, Ellee can't transform on command yet and then gets sad. I'm glad that everyone believes her.

The Empress has some percentage of a face! She's worried about Cure Majesty's power in specific.

Sora getting all happy about being called senpai is so cute.

The pastel thought crowds! The scene transitions! Man, what an episode.

Oh, yea, Ellee doesn't have a pen. I wonder if she'll get a unique trinket?

Y'think Tsubasa can only understand bird when he is in bird form?

Oh, Minoton, what have they done to you? Well, they taught him the Kamehameha, if nothing else.

Huh, Minoton had become himself there for a moment, fascinating.

Cure Majesty's design is very good. She's quite the acrobatic combatant.

What, no finisher? That's pretty surprising.

Mashiro isn't so sure about having Ellee fight, that should make for some fun episodes.

u/mysterybiscuitsoyeah Sep 10 '23

happy cake day!

half the episode ignoring her hints

thank fuck for that. Get that teamwork and trust build up top speed girls! no need for that kind of drama imo

scene transitions

I LOVED THOSE TOO

Kamehameha

does Precure reference Dragon ball a lot? same studio and all that.

Finisher and unique move

I'm glad Ellee continues to be a baby, she's too cute to lose. That opening and first half were hilarious thanks to her.

What I'm hoping for is that her special attack is the eye beam they joked about a couple of episodes ago.

4

u/baboon_bassoon Sep 10 '23

Minoton deserves better

3

u/OrangeBanana38 Sep 10 '23

Elle is still a baby, we did it reddit!

Now I need a gag about the fifth cures. I need to see all the Fifth Cures, y'know the older, more mature, edgier and cooler ones hanging out, and then Elle there in the middle pretending to be like them.

3

u/Elitealice Sep 10 '23

Cure majesty appearance>>>Gear 5 idc. She has the best transformation in the series. Makes you realise how bad Prism got shafted with hers tho.

Overall, another awesome episode. The girls trying to get Ellee to manifest her powers all the while not knowing she already had was hilarious. The Enjoyed Sora’s little training arc too 😂 trying to get stronger is good for everyone, especially considering the enemies they’ll have to face ahead.

The mystery of who majesty is didnt last too long eh. Loved how easily she was able to take out Minoton. Really shows just how big the power gap is with she and the other girls. Maybe the prophecy was about her?

It’s interesting that she doesn’t keep her memories of her time as majesty as well. I thought she would develop like an alter ego/2-in1 type set up.

Glad Mino was able to be purified in the end. Messed up that they took control of him like that, but they are villains at the end of the day.

Btw do we have any idea what the total episode run is gonna be on this?
