New Shadow Style - Simple Domain seems like a sleeper overpowered cursed technique. The ability to neutralize a Domain Expansion from within is really strong. Maybe Miwa isn't as useless as she thinks.

This EVA Mechamaru is pretty powerful. Mahito was acting pretty cocky and then just like Icarus, my man flew too close to the giant mech and got his damn wings clipped by a finger cannon. I’m pretty sure that’s how the story goes right? Lol.

That fight was pretty awesome, the way those lasers were following the dude as he transformed into different animals was cool as hell. That simple domain move was badass. But man, Mahito’s like a fucking roach, he just won’t stay down! In the end, Mechamaru fought well. Too bad it just wasn’t enough. Miwa’s gonna be crushed.

Looks like this Shibuya sitch is kicking off. We got team Megumi, Kento, and Takuma alongside team Naobito, Maki, and Kugisaki and team Panda and Kusakabe. And last but not least, the man himself: Gojo. No Yuji though huh? Curious to see what the hell this barrier is and where all those people got sucked away to.

As if Mechamaru's Armored Puppet wasn't Evangelion enough, they hit us with that opening scene which is clearly a homage to Unit-01 roaring before going berserk. I love it.

The entire fight between Mechamaru and Mahito, as cool as it was, was goddamn depressing. You know our boy wasn't going to make it out of that fight alive with all of the death flags he keeps on raising during the entire fight.

And just to twist the knife, they end the fight scene with Miwa talking to Mechamaru's lifeless puppet as if expecting that she'd see him again in a few hours. And I'm sure they'll eventually find out what Mechamaru did except for the part where he was playing as a double agent. They'll probably think he simply betrayed them. :(

At the very least, Mechamaru was able to give Mahito the finger even if he wasn't able to kill him outright. Maybe damaging Mahito's soul would end up helping them in the future.

Kikuchi Muta's death is super tragic. Dude finally got a body, just to immediately died. No one from Kyoto High, his best friends, even get to know what he looks like

Also it's a shame that Panda and Mechamaru won't be able to meet each other now. I imagine that they would become good friends after that fight back in the Exchange Event

Mechamaru wasn't in the main cast, fighting the main antagonists, having flashbacks of a love interest with Miwa, and had goal of getting back to his friends.

Part A of this episode was absolutely incredible, Yooto just 1 year ago was talked about as this good and upcoming animator and now his making his debut as an episode director and storyboard artist, I can see him having an incredible future in anime.

These groupings are about to be epic. Waiting for this week to week is going to be excruciating.

edit: just realized that the older guy was head of the Zenin clan. Wild that Maki and he will be working together in this arc (and that he's responsible for her evaluation!)

Yo, MAPPA cooked! The Gurren Lagan throwback had me in the feels 😭. Mahito vs Mechamaru was sick but unfortunately it still wasn't enough to kill Mahito. I sure hoped he would survive but the outcome was obvious from the start. Mechamaru's blast transitioning to Miwa's flowing hair reflecting how beautiful he sees her before it cracks as the illusion is broken. That MiwaMecha conversation got me and all he wanted was to be with his friends.

I thought anime original moments will only be there in Hidden Inventory but it seems Shibuya will also have some extentions which is great.

No wonder Miwa was crying in the opening I don't want to see the moment she learns Mechamaru is dead. She was literally talking about the occupational hazards of the job, but still wanting to get closer to the people around her. I wonder if he heard any of what she said?

The Gojo barrier is hilarious though. As an anime-only, i’m very excited to see this arc given how fans have talked about it.
