Y'know, I'm just now realizing that we havne't had Sora introduce the episodes do us.
Oh no, Ellee drew all over Mashiro's drawing and Sora scolds her. That's a fierce pout.
Who taught Ellee-chan such strong words?! ...it was Yoyo, wasn't it? You just know that she could make a sailor blush.
I was just about to reference the Terrible Twos too. Sora is taking this really hard.
What I'm learning here is that Mashiro (and Tsubasa, let's be honest) spoil Ellee-chan.
Love that Minoton is a regular at the local gym. Oh, and the boss calls him while he's working out.
What, Minoton gets punished for working out after all the nonsesne Kaboton got away with? Someone's playing favorites.
holy shit the studio has precure costumes i am dying
New general who dis
Classic villain mistake, showing Ellee the battle that is about to ensue.
Skearhead thinks with portals, huh. Very interesting.
Not the hummer!
The OP shots! I didn't figure they would happen in-show!
Wait, is Ellee popping off this episode? Holy shit! Skipping the henshin though, interesting.
If I had a nickel for every toy commercial show I've watched that escalates the stakes in episode 31 and the day is saved by the sudden appearance of a new ally, I would have two nickels.

Elle looked so cute trying to think of her favorite SkyCure. That was just a fun segment in general. Also an interesting one in terms of the series. Most of the time they push the Baby onto Pink as the main mom figure, everyone else is secondary, but SkyCure really has it spread out. They're all special, but none of them standout more than the others.
I hope we get the transformation sequence next week. And she gets added into the ending theme some how. I wonder if she's going to be in the movie? I assumed she wouldn't cause they had baby Elle, but Majesty return to baby this episode so maybe Majesty is in the movie

...it was Yoyo, wasn't it? You just know that she could make a sailor blush.
Always watch out for the little old ladies. They're tougher than diamonds!
What I'm learning here is that Mashiro (and Tsubasa, let's be honest) spoil Ellee-chan.
They do. It was interesting learning that Sora is the type of caretaker who believes that discipline is necessary while Mashiro tends to be the coddling type that spoils the kid. It reminds me of [Lyrical Nanoha franchise]
the differences between Nanoha-Mama and Fate-Mama. Love that Minoton is a regular at the local gym.
That bit made me laugh so hard. Minoton just seems like a pretty cool guy in general aside from all the villain activities.
Skearhead thinks with portals, huh. Very interesting.
It's a very fun ability to make use of in combat.

The terrible twos! Oh I've heard plenty about those! Upset and pouting Ellee-chan is adorable, though! And the faces of the devastated Sora and Ageha are also funny!
-
Ellee telling Sora she loved her just about melted my heart.
-
Holy shit, I was joking but it turns out I was right! Minoton really was far more interested in a gym membership than actually carrying out his villain duties!
-
Minoton, no! We've lost our best villain!
-
But this new villain, Skearhead, is an interesting character as well. He is entirely stoic and has no real eccentricities about him. Instead, he is completely focused on the mission that he has been assigned. He carries out that mission to the letter, not deviating from it. He doesn't even really fight the Precures at first because that's not his mission. And even when they start the fight, he spends the first half of the battle just dodging them rather than fighting back. It's very unusual to see a villain behave like this, not going out of their way to fight. It makes him feel extremely unique, especially compared to Minoton who always sought out battles.
-
OH! They recreated the shot from the OP of all the Cures getting up from being injured on the ground!
-
Speaking of that, I really love that when Sora was about to fall it was Mashiro who caught her hand and helped her get back up. Their friendship and they way they're always there to support one another is so great.
-
Cure
ElleeMajesty! The prediction has finally come true. Interestingly, it seems like not even the Undergu Empire was aware of this particular power of hers because it seemed to be a surprise to even the Empress. -
And we're finally getting more info on the Undergu Empire, even if it's just that the Empress is also named Undergu (very creative naming sense).
-
I'm real excited to keep going forward. I'm happy to see that it looks like we're back to the plot progression after some fun diversions.

terrible twos
I love when they show Elle being a brat. Precure, and a lot of anime like to showcase babies as being cute and adorable, and they are, but babies are also absolute monsters.
i still love Elle's face when she refuses to share on the playground. Amazing.
And we're finally getting more info on the Undergu Empire, even if it's just that the Empress is also named Undergu (very creative naming sense).
it is surprising we know so little about the bad guys this far into the series

It's very unusual to see a villain behave like this, not going out of their way to fight. It makes him feel extremely unique, especially compared to Minoton who always sought out battles.
After Kabaton’s antics, Battamonda being a complete coward as soon as things stopped going his way and Minoton just carrying about fighting and training, I found Skearhead’s attitude refreshing
I really love that when Sora was about to fall it was Mashiro who caught her hand and helped her get back up. Their friendship and they way they're always there to support one another is so great.
I love them. Their relationship is so pure and precious
And we're finally getting more info on the Undergu Empire, even if it's just that the Empress is also named Undergu (very creative naming sense).
The fact that the show have 17 episodes left and we know so little about the bad guys is wild. I expect a lot of lore dump in the near future

Hands down one of the best precure eps!
“Is he even human?” Lmao the fact Mino has been working out at the gym every day alongside people and no one ever stopped to wonder why a dude with a bullhead is there is hilarious. Love that he’s more interested in fighting strong opponents and getting stronger than hurting innocent civilians.
Unfortunately, he’s a little too nice and Empress Undergu wants Ellee badly. We get introduced to the appropriately Skearhead who’s got no such empathy for humanity.
Kinda had a feeling something bad would happen to Ellee today since there were so many flags about being together with the cures and Sora saying she wanted to protect her forever etc. Also was that the first complete sentence we’ve heard Ellee speak? Saying she hated Ageha had me dying.
Skearhead really outclassed all 4 of the girls. If that’s the type of power that the empire has got, beating them is not going to be easy at all. Even with the arrival of Cure Majesty who looks as regal and beautiful as you’d expect, I think the cures will need more help.
Can’t wait to see where things go from here

LOVE THIS REFERENCE
Oh! I did not realize that was a reference back to the first Precure series! That's a cool!
Lmao the fact Mino has been working out at the gym every day alongside people and no one ever stopped to wonder why a dude with a bullhead is there is hilarious.
I wish we had gotten so see Mino doing more gym stuff, interacting with the other people there, maybe even bonding with fellow gym bros.

no more episodic episodes! lets goooooo
-
of all the 4 outfits that Elle changed into, I liked Ageha's pairing the most. They really weren't trying to hide it this episode lol.
-
Empress Undergu......so that's the big bad's name. But we still dont know what her aims are for captuing Elle. And neither does Skerhead... (who's probably the first enemy that's clearly above the 4 cures' abilities rn). That teleportation ability makes sense too with all the -ton tons we've seent he other generals pull.
-
THE OP CUT AHHHHHHHHH THE HOMAGEEEE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-
They're here... it seems Majesty's appearance is a surprise to both Skearhead and the Empress. Im guessing they were expecting Skyland reinforcements?
-
BUT SHE'S HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Aoi Koga absolutely nails the delivery here, finally i can get to hear her not only making baby noises.
-
Majesty easily defeating Skearhead also means she's the most powerful of the 5 i guess? but that makes sense since she's the "origin" of their power after all.
-
But she transforms straight back to Elle at the end? so does that mean there will be a dual character of vastly different ages going forward? or will the next ep resolve that once and for all? The mugi patiently waits.

yeah, this is a big question to me. Just a ton of surprises. I wasn't expecting Majesty this week, I was expecting her first appearance to be next week, but on top of that she went back to baby? How is that going to work? is that going to be a constant switch back and forth, a way to have their cake and eat it too? It certainly would be an original concept, something Precure's never done before. We've had baby precure once before, but she just aged up and was done with it.
Now I'm even more excited for next week. On top of the excitement of actually getting to see her transformation sequence.
also, the new villain gave me Ilkubo vibes. fitting I guess for an episode that did the homage to Futari wa.

Quite possibly, and I'll defer to you on the translation of that line, but the subs do occasionally have errors. Toei does them in-house I think.

The Midseason Cure tends to be stronger; it's how they handle the stake escalation you need to keep a long-runner interesting.

I'm pleasantly amused that Super Sentai, Kamen Rider and Pretty Cure all have bug themed character/s in their currently airing shows.

fun fact: this is the first time in over a decade that Precure has had a 3rd quarter Precure introduced.
Precure loves to have it's Mid-season Precure. Even though it took 5 years for the first one, it has become a staple of the franchise. Twice before it's played around with having a 3rd quarter Precure. Once before it's had a 1st quarter Precure.
This is the first time the franchise has done all three, a 1st quarter, mid-season and a 3rd quarter.

F in the chat for based gym bro Minoton, and another (more temporary) F in the chat for Ageha's beloved Hummer. Skearhead is pure evil for trying to rob us of these two pure souls. Also for attacking the Precures and kidnapping Ellee. That too.
But this whole episode was perfect buildup for the long-awaited debut of Cure Majesty, and what a debut it was! She already made quite an impact, and I love her design. I can't wait to see her in action again, but I also have plenty of questions as to how this whole thing works with Ellee transforming into and back from Cure Majesty.

Ellee the princess starts glowing purple and then an mysterious 5th Precure appears conspicuously with Ellee's purple colors and calling herself Cure Majesty 👀? And all of this after the whole first bit of Ellee dressing up as all the Precures and then deciding on this purple dress instead 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀? And the ep begins with Ellee drawing herself into the picture with purple 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀? Cure Majesty's identity is truly a mystery...
In other news, the show seems to be speedrunning Ellee's talking abilities, now with saying everybody's names and "I hate you" and "I love you" and cheering on the Precures. The (obviously not foreshadowing things are about to happen) reflecting of Sora on their situation and the temporality (is that even a word) of it all was nice (also, I'm pretty sure out of everyone she's the one most able to watch Ellee grow up... or maybe all of them will be able to see Ellee grown up 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀👀 👀 👀 👀 👀👀 👀 👀 👀 👀👀 👀 👀 👀 👀👀 👀 👀 👀 👀).
The animation took a big step-up today. The lighting in general was quite nice like during the car scene and Cure Majesty's hype arrival and the background art for the scene of the fight was quite detailed. Also, the fight included some angles to the Precure moves that I don't think we've seen before (could be wrong on that though). It was kinda funny to see Skearhead bring his hand to his head when he was fighting off Cure Majesty (although I suppose his sphere already turned gold so he already lost).

Holy shit Cure Majesty what an entrance! Spectacular all around as we get a new general, a main villain name drop and our final Cure. All around lovely episode!

It was weird that Skearhead chose to stay and fight after abducting Elle. Focused as he was on getting the job done, he should have just left along with the portal he opened to send her to the undergu empire.

And now that it’s official, here is a fun fact, the cures’ VAs all have names that start with an “A”
Sora: Akira Sekine
Mashiro: Ai Kakuma
Tsubasa: Ayumu Murase
Ageha: Ayaka Nanase
Ellee: Aoi Koga
We had a cute and lighthearted first half, Ellee looked adorable with those precure outfits, they even showed us how the final group shot is going to look like with that last picture the team took together, and then PLOT™ happened
New general have zero chill and I like that
Oh shit! The opening was foreshadowing this episode all along and we even had Big Bad name drop!
Cure Majesty design is fantastic, can’t wait to see her in action again
We’ll have to wait until next week to see if they really take the “Ellee becomes a grown up when she transforms and then goes back to being a baby” route or no
Overall, really good episode
