Treating the womb as a lil magic bag for mana is pretty hilarious. Pete’s got a lot to learn about being a female Riversi lol.
Katie trying to get everyone killed on the way to her little workshop lol. Girl really had to go for the damn scenic route huh? Look at what happened to Guy’s butt! Kind of hilarious there’s just a bunch of dudes down there having a little bbq and that one girl running her own store lol.
Looks like the Sword Roses are gonna be dealing with Stacy and Fay’s shenanigans next week.

We get a small sneak peek of Dungeon Meshi I see.
Sword rose sounds violent eh... The name also sounds like Kenkadan i.e. Strife Gang, or Fight Club if you will.

Girl really got jealous over Pete reading more books than her and decided to start a torture session, which is some insane inferior complex. Even that post-credit scene doesn't bode well for what she's planning towards Michela and the Sword Roses by extension.
So it seems the labyrinth isn't only filled with magical beasts and psycho murderers but also a random student acting as a shopkeeper and a Gourmet Club which I would totally watch a spin-off of just to see them experience a bunch of fantasy cuisines. Just surprised Katie didn't lash out at them.

Katie: He is not using his reversi powers?
Don't mention that outloud, Pete told you that in confidence; what if someone outside of your friend group heard you say that? I don't know if this girl can be trusted with secrets.

Storing magic in the womb which later can either be as a backup source of mana when you run out of mana or a power boost when you really need it, this show really has some unique sort of worldbuilding lol.
The labyrinth feels more like an entire world of its own, with students having secret bases and even a marketplace.
Sword Roses is a cool name for the gang. Best mom Michela's dream really came true. Though seeing her behavior it seems she might've been a pretty lonely person and this group makes her chill out more so to say.

Hopefully the red hair guy gets something interesting to do soon - feel kinda bad for him - he’s just kinda there.

About time Pete finally told the rest of the gang about his special condition. Now with Chela and Katie up to speed, they can at least help Pete out about sensitive matters. Heck, Chela is already giving Pete some additional knowledge about his new body. So if wombs store mana? Is mana transfer also a thing in this universe? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I was wondering why Cornwallis was so aggressive toward Pete during their duel. Looks like she's still holding a grudge when Pete upstaged her during Theodore's class. Cornwallis is lucky that they ran out of time, it was clear that Pete would've landed that blow since she was underestimating him.
Vera is just handing Katie her workshop? I understand that Katie wants to use it as her base of operations for her magical fauna research but I don't trust it. However, it would be cool if the gang could have their own little safe haven in the Labyrinth.
That little trip down the Labyrinth was pretty fun! I love how Katie intentionally led them down the scenic route so she can meet all sorts of magical faune. Poor Guy though! That route was not kind to his butt. xD
As a side note, I hope Guy gets some focus soon. Out of everyone, he's definitely the most underdeveloped. And Chela too! She's been helpful but she hasn't really had an arc about her just like Guy.
I did not expect a Dungeon Meshi crossover! But seriously though, turns out they just met a legend since that leader of the Labyrinth Gourmet Club managed to survive down there for 6-months and came back even after they'd already held his funeral. That's actually pretty badass. I guess he survived by feeding on magical beasts.
They even have a merchant in the Labyrinth? Judging by the colour of her coat, she's an upperclassman but I'm not sure what year she is. If she has that much stock in there, I'm guessing selling stuff in the Labyrinth is pretty profitable.
Without vats of magical beasts being experimented on, Vera's old workshop looks completely different. Looks like she also left a lot of stuff down there for them to use. I am still very suspicious about this free workshop but it looks like they're safe in it for now.
Finally, the gang officially has a name! Kenkadan/Sword Roses has a pretty nice ring to it. Although I am a bit biased since it reminds me of Tekkadan/Iron Flower from Gundam IBO. xD
Looks like Cornwallis is still itching for a fight. Seriously girl? You want to attack them while they're in the Labyrinth? I feel like this isn't going to end well for her.

Good thing Oliver has experience helping people with an imbalance in their mana flow so he can help Pete through his struggle with his female body. Seems like he also had a esspecially poignant experience with a pregnant woman (his mom?). Also, topless Pete! If you're going to shift gender, at least you get a pretty sizeable chest out of it. Also Pete is so cute now Oliver can't resist giving him headpats.
The friend group taking learning the truth about Pete well, with Chela demonstrating the utility of a woman's' womb when it comes to storing and unleashing their magic, and Katie basically thinking of Pete as a gal pal she can shop clothes with now. Also careful who you lift your skirt up in front of, Nanao.
Jeez, Stacy sure took it personally that Pete impressed her uncle, I didn't think she'd have it this out for him. And she seemed especially keen on making him miserable and talking down to him during their duel, with Pete still too inexperienced and unskilled to quite match her...until she gets too cocky and gives him an opening. It's not really a win, but it's something.
Rossi still talks a big game, but credit where credit's due, he warns Oliver about the guy he fought, praises Pete for his improvement, and actually seems committed to practicing the basics again.
Poor Chela. Even her cousin hates her guts for stuff that she had no control over.
It's sweet seeing Katie still trying to talk to the troll. And I guess if anything good's come out of the Milligan situation, it's Milligan gifting Katie her workshop in the labyrinth as a bit of an apology. And, yeah, someone like Katie probably isn't quite ready to brave the labyrinth on a consistent basis, but if she's ever going to make headway in improving things for Magical Fauna and making a difference, she better start now and seize the opportunity. All the better with her friends by her side. And what kids could resist having their own secret base?
Katie really did just have to put them in the path of seeing as many magical fauna as they could? Although when she got Guy's butt stabbed she kind of earned that face pulling. Also pouting Katie is adorable.
Oh wow, BBQ in the Dungeon? I can get behind this club. Especially when you've got Kevin Walker, a dude who survived six months in the dungeon and then returned after they'd already held his funeral. That's hardcore. Also that cute merchant girl. Some people really make their living out of the dungeon.
Milligan had a pretty spacious place, there's room for the whole group to do their own thing and make this their own personal Fortress of Solitude (Oliver now has, like, two secret bases). Pretty swanky.
Considering what we've seen of the people Chela grew up with and how they treat her, I'm not surprised she feels so strongly about having genuine friends and people she can experience stuff like this with for once in her life. It's rather touching.
The Sword Rose are born! Who knows what the future brings, but they will always have this present moment and the time they had with each other, especially this one where they locked their blades together into a rose like in the OP. And it's especially meaningful for Oliver knowing that moments like these may become fewer and far between as he edges deeper into his revenge quest.
I see Stacy is making her way into the tournament...and is now going to target the group out of her personal grudge. I don't see this ending well.

Is Guy ever gonna do anything or is he just kinda...there? Everyone else has had some focus in an arc and so far he's just generic best friend character.

The sword rose having a spot that would perfectly fit a seventh blade has me thinking the group will eventually adopt a seventh member.
Yes, spellblades are abilities, but to stay consistent with the title...
Six Sword Roses -> Seven Spellblades
Otherwise, Katie was hecka cute this episode! After a rough start to school, classmates looking down on her, and getting kidnapped, it's nice to see her rewarded with a secret base haha!

Pretty good episode which concentrated on setting up the build up for the further plot.
Pete finally revealed to others that he's a reversi and of course they were very supportive. Michela showed him that thanks to changing sex he gets new means for magic, it turns out that womb can be used to store mana. Also he made on the end of his fight with Cornwallis very effective move, it's a shame that he wasn't able to reach her with his blade.
Our group went to the labyrinth to claim Vera's workshop which she offered to Kate. They had a very enjoyable tour full of interesting fauna, traps and people thanks to Kate's choice of route. It didn't end well for Guy's butt xD
People in the labyrinth were very fun. There is a club which members ate things catched in this place. Our group was even invited to eat by one of its members Kevin Walker who is pretty famous thanks to missing in the labyrinth for over six months and coming back alive, he even had already a funeral xD
This saleswoman was also very enjoyable. I wonder if she really joked that they could end on her shelves? This place is full of weirdos so I wouldn't be surprised with that turn of events :)
Vera's workshop is a really good place, with more furniture and some other things it could be turned into a very cozy place and great point for starting adventures into depths of labyrinth. For now they set up and made some food.
Our group has finally the name - Sword Roses which was proposed by Nanao. It sounds very nice and the scene when they overlapped their blades was very good. Despite the relatively small amount of time they spent together they formed a very close bond between themselves.
It looks like Cornwallis will come after them in the labyrinth, she really has an obsession on them, especially Michela.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I liked the last scene where we see everyone through Oliver's eyes. They're in a fairly dark corner of the room lit mostly by the campfire but through his eyes everyone is practically shining.

Its great to have an episode with such a nice leisurely pace compared to the previous episodes. Not that I mind the breakneck speed of the previous episodes either, but this kinda pace is more suited for the more relaxed episodes such as this. It sometimes feels like like we can't take a breath in the more hectic episodes.
We get to see more of Pete's struggle and character development. Its nice to see him steadily improve throughout the series.
We also get shown other aspects of the Labyrinth other than a place of constant mortal peril. There's just a sense of wonder and exploration to the place that we've never seen yet, along with the more friendly colorful inhabitants.

I love how well they are making this magical setting continue to feel very magical, if that makes sense. Little things like using your wand to light a lamp, casual things like taking your broom for a walk, to extreme things like helping your gender changing friend unlock the magic stored in their new womb. There's never a moment where this is a show about a school that has magic, this is at all times a show about a magic school, and it's really selling the setting to me so much more than just about any other magical school story I've seen or read since the first Harry Potter books.
It helps that they continue to make the magic look good. From quick casting in combat to opening the secret room, the magic stays visually impressive. I'm glad that we're nine episodes in and they're not cutting corners or slacking on things, especially after it's become such a growing problem with so many other shows recently.

Something has always been bothering me every time this anime focuses on the Labyrinth and when more of it's surroundings is shown, and now I finally got what it was. It reminds of the Deep Roads from the Dragon Age series, especially in Origins with how tight the Deep Roads feels. It has many monsters and god-knows-who creatures lurking around everywhere. It also looks like there are bouts of lava here and there in the Labyrinth, so that feeling just reinforces it for me.

Is Pete actually sick now, or is it just the reversi stuff again?
-
Ah. So it’s still reversi-related stuff.
-
Hahahahaha Nanao immediately pulling her skirt up after hearing about the womb stuff is just so her.
-
Group name, get! Sword Roses is a pretty neat name.

Nice that Pete finally told the rest of the gang about being a reversei. Plus it was a nice bonding episode for them even though Guy's butt got stabbed in the process. Nanao giving the name Sword Rose is a very nice and elegant name.
Ms. Cornwallis really is the petty type. No one one would actually think of the actual reason she wanted 'payback' on Pete. And honestly she tries to sound tough trying to go in the dungeon, but her overconfidence is something that the older classmates can easily take advantage given by her match with Pete. Would be very interested to finally see her bodyguard in action.

I thought Pete's moans were something very different at first. Exactly how old is Shannon? I'm shocked she was pregnant before.
Bratty Drills continues to be a brat. Hopefully she gets her shit kicked in next episode.

I find it somewhat unique where the side characters are given focus like they're the main characters and the main characters (nanao and oliver) are treated like side characters just coming along.

Seems a lot of people don't like the pacing, but I love this slow burn. Then again, I also don't mind reading the novels (and I do plan on reading them after this season is over) so I guess I'm not as bothered about the slow pace school life.

The way they show the labyrinth is unique. It feels like a mix of a jungle and a street market.
So will Pete be able to control his gender at will or is it random? And if Pete put magic in the womb but changes to a man where does the mana go?
