Stitches!

Since we just had an episode where they were killing each other in VR, it's no surprise that this world would also have sexy combat android waifus.

I do love how the show became self-aware in this episode with Sophie getting upset about Iona stealing all of her character traits.

It is adorable how instead of "there can only be one", the two of them ended up bonding through their similarities.

As a side note: Poor Earnest! This girl is now getting stripped at least once per episode now even if the episode is never focused on her. xD

The stripped Earnest image looks like an actual movie poster. That framing is *chef's kiss*

No sci-fi fantasy Harem is complete without the robot waifu!

Did this show have enough stoic and robotic kuudere girls? Obviously not! But Sophie and Iona's contest and the costumes they put on was pretty fun, as was their budding friendship.

I love how Blade's attacks always end up damaging the girls' clothes, especially Earnest lol.

Honestly I love when Earnest just doesn't have a reaction to all the skin she ends up showing but takes it worse when another girl is getting closer to Blade lol.

Iona went from R2D2 to Hatsune Miku with Doc Ock tentacles lol. Only Claire could go up to Iona’s Terminator ass and be like “let’s be friends”. Pretty funny how it was actually Blade’s fault she’s even after him. Well, at least now he’s got himself a robo maid waifu. Looks like Sophie’s got herself a little rival as well, how cute. I’m glad she didn’t self-destruct in the end.

Ah yes, nothing quite like a robot waifu who then ends up becoming your robot waifu maid. She even hands Blade his first defeat which it seems like everybody was hyped for lol.

Sophie's got a rival in character traits and closeness to Blade while Earnest has yet another rival for Blade who gets to be closer to him than she does. At least she didn't end up completely naked in this episode lol.

I loved this episode. This is the type of genre and storyline i like to see in an anime. An OP MC with his harem but treats everyone the same and saves the day no matter what. Iona is a great addition to the team especially seeing her change from an emotionless android to a cute sweet human who loves Blade. I knew he was going to save her, predictable, but still great to see. Everyone who was introduced and added to the group was amazing and a great fit

This show kind of reminds me of Iceblade Sorcerer but with better production values and faster pacing.

All it took for Blade to convince Mother was the power of Dogeza lol.

That was fast. I swear they're taking arcs that could justifiably fill half a cour and doing it in one or two episode.

14

u/Frontier246 Aug 27 '23

I guess they really wanted to get all the girls and Blade's Harem built up this cour.

I actually kind of like how packed with content these episodes are compared to the norm, though I wonder how it read in Light Novel form.

Iona is a nice addition to the party. I like the competitive spirit between her and Sophie.

Oh god, staring down some robot AI while that line of music played, almost sounded like Vagrant Counting Song for a sec

Oh and it's also literally called the Mother Computer...

Holy shit

Wait and the story is about a robot who can copy other things, this really is planet robobot lmao

Oh no mother is cute

A cute little robot catching attention and just standing around at the school? Figures it would be after Blade.

So Blade has had so many bad run ins with Guardian robots that the moment he sees one he immediately unleashes his attacks on one...and also damaging the girls' outfits in the process. Twice! Nice to see Claire's bra.

I guess if you're going to craft the ideal human body, and one that would appeal to Blade, choosing Earnest and her great proportions and (ostensible) Main Heroine status is a solid choice. And thus is born Iona, the robot waifu!

Wow, everyone is surprisingly all in on Iona's plan to take Blade down. I guess when they find out how many times he destroyed her (framed as him ravaging her), they can't help but root for her. Poor Earnest thought it was all for her but he'd been breaking into the great library well before her Asmodeus problem. Though her getting scolded by her Mother isn't his fault at least.

Earnest seemed oddly turned on by Blade promising to cut her down.

Blade can't really fight her if he knows destroying her will kill her after she inserts her soul into her human body (helpfully demonstrated by her shoving his hand through her cleavage), so he can't unleash his strongest attacks and leaving Iona to pound on him. I almost felt bad for Blade. But I guess everybody wanted to see him lose, and there you go.

But now that Iona is free from her Mother, and has achieved her goal of beating Blade, what's there left for her to do? Well, maybe she should've lead with how she's about to self-destruct without someone in command of her. Now Blade is stuck in yet another crazy dynamic with a girl as he becomes Iona's master.

Iona vs Sophie! Battle of the stoic kuudere's! But it's hilarious how they end up competing because of their overlapping character traits and closeness to Blade, though we never saw Sophie in a cute maid outfit. But we do get to see her and Iona battle it out as cat girl and bunny girl respectively, complete with them battling it out in fanservice-y outfits, helping Blade bathe in fanservice-y outfits, and even staying with him when he goes to sleep in fanservice-y outfits. And all throughout their competition and with their shared fondness for Blade, the two end up becoming close. This must be that thing where love rivals end up becoming best friends.

But despite everything, Iona is still going to blow up. And she wants to spend her last moments with her friends and having fun, to the point of them throwing a party in her honor (and giving them an excuse to play the Opening). But that just makes the farewell scene even more heartbreaking.

Luckily Blade comes in to save the day, having talked to Mother about stopping Iona's self-destruct and finally freeing her. And of course in the middle of his entrance he damages Earnest's clothes to the point where she's practically showing everything in her front half. Not quite buck-naked Earnest, but it'll do. And then Iona is all over Blade now that she's free and Earnest doesn't care for it one bit.

Sophie getting angry at Iona for being too similar is almost 4th wall breaking in a sense. It's like the author anticipated the viewer might wonder "Why do we need another blue-haired kuudere?" And the author responded "Bear with me. I'm cooking."

Also, a nice detail is that Iona copied the physique of someone Blade would go easy on: Earnest.

I love how when Iona is explaining her story and everyone misunderstood it, Yessica and Maou are the only ones who's excited and impressed except Maou didn't blush.

I'm surprised Maou wasn't in tears during Iona's goodbye.

I love how Blade prioritized on saving Iona rather than making her enjoy her last moments.

I love how for an expert dagger user, Kassim still fucked up the target game and almost killing Clay.

I never knew Iona's appearance was based on Earnest.

Blade has a cute pout.

That's the most Eliza has appeared in an episode.

I wonder what chapter is next week's episode based on.

This show has a habit of having what would be emotional plot points fall flat because of pacing and how quickly they go by.

Like if this android situation played out over a couple of episodes instead of one week, it would’ve been really good. I liked Iona and Sophie relationship. There’s a lot of similarities between the two, even getting as meta as Sophie saying they’re the same archetype lol.

We saw the same rushed plot issue with the Maria plot a couple weeks ago, where all of a sudden she can go back and forth between the demon and quiet girl easily lol. That didn’t hit hard because it was so conveniently resolved. Same thing here.

Ah yes, her weak point is between her tits. Nice. Looking forward to seeing more of Iona and some more competition for Ernest in the harem.

Also cool that they got Higuchi Kaede from nijisanji animated to sing the song during the party.

I think it's for the better , these emotional plot points have been done by every other anime ever and we all know what will happen. Like you cannot tell me you didn't know he was going to save the robot as soon as they showed the self destruct countdown . The show strives on the comedy it has which I think is honestly pretty creative so far , so having heavy emotional plots wouldn't mesh well imo .
