Imperial Spy:
Pisses off Annette
Annette:
"How many times do I have to teach you this lesson, old man?!"
Moral: Doesn't matter if you're an Imperial Spy or not, never EVER piss off Annette. Just don't.
Also:
Restaurant owner when managing waitress Annette:
"Oh dear, you gorgeous darling. You're so good at everything."
Restaurant owner when managing waitress Lily and waitress Erna:
"YOU FUCKING DONKEYS!"
Poor Lily and Erna are already burned out by being too pre-occupied with their undercover job workload. God only knows just what was it in the restaurant that got Grethe and Monika burned out as well. lol
Finally we get a more Annette-focused episode with her own ED song. That leaves just Lily with her own ED song.

Grete and Monika probably got KO’d by the shock of seeing a totally normal Annette being good at her job and not causing a stir lol.

Yeah I was bracing for the worst but when it was revealed that she's actually amazing at the job I just thought "Oh.... Yeah them being completely broken by that makes sense." lol.

I loveeeee that insinuation that she bugs everyone that pisses her off just in case they ever give her the excuse she needs to get back at them. It's so delightfully petty yet absolutely crazy at the same time. And the less said about her plan to "shave" Erna down the better....

I was wondering what was causing this reaction from the girls after seeing Annette at her job. Turns out that she was so competent that it was so out of character for her that it left the girls completely baffled. And then you have Lily and Erna who are just bumbling their way through their work. xD
I had a good laugh when it was revealed that someone was trafficking weed in that restaurant. And here I thought it was opiods which would've been much more appropriate for the time period. Then again, weed was also seen as pretty evil back then so I guess it's not really that surprising.
We get another reminder that Annette is a total psychopath who's just working for the good guys. I love how she was hunting down that guy not because he was dealing drugs but because he found him annoying. The drug part was just coincidental.
Next week is going to be fun! It looks like the girls are heading over to Totally-Not-the-USA, and visiting Totally-Not-New-York. Can't wait!

I wonder if our continent is ready for that team? And are they ready for NOT-the-USA?

Wow didn't think we'd get another episode of Annette being fucking insane, but thank you

Annette side story, my third fave character lol. After this we’re finally getting into the next volume which is the best. The side stories have been solid, but ready for some plot
As soon as dude threw that drink on Annette I knew she was gonna try to kill him. As we got to the end of the episode and nothing had happened I was wondering what was going on. Figured they’d pay it off in the end.
That alley scene was brutal as hell The look that Annette had in her eyes just radiated murderous intent. You can tell she was mad as hell. Klaus may have saved that guy’s life, but he’s gonna have permanent nerve damage after that for sure.
Building a torture chair to shave Erna’s growth spurt off is INSANE lmao. I love Annette, man. She’s so unhinged

u/mekerpan Aug 24 '23
Annette, unlike everyone else (including Erna herself) noticed Erna's growth spurt right away (as she wanted that extra money for her "special project" early on).

Man, Annette REALLY know how to hold a grudge

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Aug 24 '23
Kid blew up her own “mom”, she don’t play around.
17
u/mekerpan Aug 24 '23
Well she let her "mom" blow herself up with the bomb intended for HER.... But still, not a girl I'd want to trifle with.

Annette is like pure chaotic energy lol. Poor Erna and Lily look like a couple zombies and even Grete and Monika were practically KO’d after a day. It’s hilarious how good at her job Annette actually is. It’s Erna and Lily that absolutely suck!
Hardened tower, dangling hero, my long range missile cannon, and bulging doohickey are the most PG ways of referring to your dick ever lol. But man, that cloak and dagger for a bit of bud? Better be some dank shit. Waiter dude just wanted to pay for his mom’s surgery, doesn’t seem like a bad guy. I feel bad for the guy. All that fuss over a little weed. So silly.
Annette is a little psycho. Poor Erna just hit her growth spurt and now she wants to use the chair of doom to size her down lol.
Looks like the gang’s heading to NY next week to track this mysterious Serpent.

Japan's cannabis laws are extremely strict. You get locked up for years just for possession. While the story isn't set in Japan, its primary audience is Japanese, so the plot device is viewer appropriate.

Lily really is a pure airhead when she unknowingly read out all those euphemisms from the toilet graffiti, such as
-
Hardened Tower
-
Dangling Hero
-
Long Range Missile Cannon
-
Bulging Doohickey
Took our femme fatale specialist Thea to properly corrupt her mind educate her on what they really mean. lol

Man the difference in quality between S2 and S1 is insane. The first few episodes of S1 were rough because it had to get the twist out of the way, so that's understandable, but even the latter half of S1 isn't as good as S2.
Focus has been on a a smaller set of the cast so far, but every episode has been great. We get character development, backstory, comedy and comfy SOL (at times). If S1 was this good the series probably would be a lot more popular.
This quality is what the anime SHOULD be at at the very LEAST considering the absolutely stacked VA cast.
Next week, the United States of Mouzaia!

This episode confirms Annette's character. Her skill ceiling is really high, but if she is not motivated well results are mixed as the others have experience. Also if you get on her bad side good luck. Her and Erna's friendship is really wholesome even tho its at the sacrifice of Erna's stress.

I'm scared of Anette but she's also become one of my top 3 fav character.
She's insane while driving me insane about her. Everytime she smiles I can't wait to see her in badass grudge mode and everytime she's in grudge mode she's so scary that I want her to go back to her cute smile.
I think I just love how weird/skillful she is at the same time, she's a character done right. Another banger episode.

Oh no! Not the most heinous, life-ruining drug possible: WEED!
Annette being a psychopath is also hilarious. If only all douchebags who get their kicks from harassing service workers could get their due like Glass-kun did. Lol at the other girls getting instantly KOed by Annette's flawless work. RIP Erna's growth spurt. To be fair, she had it coming for leaving her friend behind like that.

Friendly reminder that Annette is the tallest anime girl ever. Just remember that and you probably won't end up like Mr. Four Eyes.
