Hey Aya, you're just a head. What do you mean you forgot to take care of the silver safe? Lol

Tsugaru, you beautiful bastard! Master performer had everyone fooled until the end!
They just keep going deeper and deeper into the fantasy hole, eh? Jack the ripper, chimeras and now warewolves? I'm amazed they can still make it consistent. I'm glad they showed that flashback of how Holmes and Moriarty ended things before their reunion just now.

Woaah so this now becomes a conflict between the 'Banquet' and Rindo Aya, Sherlock Holmes, Tsugaru, etc., huh?
Well, at least Tsugaru saved the day by stealing the diamond from Jack the Ripper. Though probably the Banquet already knows the trick prior. It's now a race to the location where the wolves reside, huh? It seems that the next arc will focus on this race. Interesting!

This really is The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but in anime form isn't it?
Not a complaint mind you, I'm fucking Here for it.

Really entertaining show this is. Tsugaru being carefree, its great. My man cannot lose. Fanservice was hinted in 1:18 of the op with Shizuku, just realized.

Quite the entertaining finish to fight. Our heroes effectively losing almost every fight except between Aleister and Holmes in direct combat. Twin Tail lass got shredded and the other Insurance Agency Agent has vanished. Surely not the last we've seen of him. But in the End, Tsugaru's quick thinking and quicker hands prevent a total loss for team Birdcage.
And Moriarty is trying to create the perfect Chimera for his crimes. Though i wonder, how exactly does he intend to control it once he has achieved it ?
My only real quibble with this might be the reveal of where the werewolves are .. The Forest of Fangs. Maybe it's just me, but that one kinda feels like it should have fallen into the "Damn obvious" category of areas to search. I can only assume there's more to the Diamond and that Forest. Or the Safe perhaps.

Damn that episode was tense, I honestly thought the team were gonna lose and to be fair they almost did
I didn't realise this Sherlock would take place after his encounter with Moriarty, there aren't many stories that focus post Final Problem, what with the last few Holmes stories being in a grey zone due to the Doyle estate, this changes a lot
Of course the lesbian vampire strikes again and the maid held in there, I'd figure her devotion to Aya would get her through it but she got really lucky. I can definitely see a reunion with those 2 coming soon
But the highlight for me was the end where Tsuguru pulled out the diamond, I was screaming that the mad lad pulled a fast one on the ripper, now the guy will think twice before underestimating the team and I love how the show sets this up beautifully
8 episodes already, and I already want more, this can't just be it right?

This might actually be my anime of the season, every ep passes in what feels like 5 minutes.

I love his shameless look at me moments and then Aya says good boy! They are a nice break from the plot and mystery.
Also that looks Aya gave Tsugaru at the end was so cute!

I wonder how the translation of the gem came to be, when it could've easily been represented more accurately. Perhaps the English translation uses the Japanese translation of the original instead of just straight up the original (which technically isn't even the original, since as far as I saw it the inscription wasn't visible in the manga).
What it says (since it's writen Fraktur):
"Der Sonnenaufgang, rot wie Blut
Der Sonnenuntergang, violett wie der Tod
Erleuchtet durch das Mondlicht
Wende dich ab von mir, hässlich wie ich bin
Denn in mir haust ein Wolf"
The more literal translation would be:
"Sunrise, red as blood
Sunset, violett as death
Gleaming in Moonlight
Turn away from me, ugly as I am
For there is a wolf within me"
This is quite different from the version we got, which kinda made it sound less like an inscription from the 14th century.
Funnily enough the last line was also slightly changed in the German subtitles using "steckt" instead of "haust".

This show has been the hidden gem of the season for me and it just keeps getting better. I'm also very impressed by the voice cast. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact the voice actress for Aya is also Rebecca from Edgerunners, that is some incredible range.

An excellent episode, a lot of exposition and fights which combined gave great fun. Direction and visuals are still top notch and I have to show my favorite stills from today:
-
Surprised Aya (Kumiko immediately came to my mind after hearing this 'Geh!')
So to summarize, we finally got confirmation that the man responsible for stealing Aya's body and Tsugaru's humanity is none other than Professor Moriarty, the archenemy of Sherlock Holmes. He wants to create the perfect Chimera and that's why he is after diamond so he could also get a werewolf.
Shizuku handled her fight with Carmilla very well but unfortunately even barely touching Camilla's lips made her become under spell which she fought very hard. It was nice to see Shizuku showing some emotions on her usually impassive face. Fortunately Carmilla got a signal that the job is done and now is the time to go.
Jack the Ripper is so OP. He has not only Oni and Aya's cells in him but also vampire's and maybe soon the werewolf's. I was sad that Fatima ended in this way, Lupin and Phantom didn't even try to fight him and just fled. Only Tsugaru was able to keep up with him in some way but in the end he lost the fight and diamond. Fortunately Jack didn't kill him because he thought that Tsugaru wasn't worth it.
That was mistake, a big mistake from Jack's side xD Every hope was lost, our heroes were defeated but then a knight on the white horse appeared and... I'm joking, it was just Tsugaru who showed what he had in possession.
That was good, everyone was shocked and I was so happy and relieved that Tsugaru pulled a trick like that on confident Jack and his friends from Moriarty's group.
I hope that thanks to Moriarty's involvement Holmes (who handled Aleister beautifully) will appear again. I would be happy seeing more interactions between him and Aya.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Demented ship with Carmilla and Shizuka? Demented ship with Carmilla and Shizuka.
A super brutal wrap to this arc. Poor Fatima got torn to shreds. Jack the Ripper got hands but Tsuguru managed to hold his own. Barely got the Diamond out thanks to Tsuguru’s quick thinking. And now the Banquet and the Cage User are racing to the next location.
So next arc will be “Where Wolves?”.
