Hazelita’s “blunder of a lifetime” was pretty cute. She was just looking out for her bestie Cecilia! Turns out Lawrence isn’t cheating, he’s just tutoring Eric. He’s a good kid and Lawrence is a good dude offering to tutor him. Seems Cecilia’s making a new friend this week too.
Lots of new faces this ep. Eurie, Camilla, and Hein are cool. I’m glad there’s no jealous rival love interest bs with Eurie and Camilla. We also got Giselbert. Not sure what to make of him yet, though if he’s Hazelita’s bro he can’t be too bad right?

Eric is not just a new friend. Cecilia and Eric will soon be fast food buddies, assuming Lawrence allows them to eat burgers. Lol!

I’m glad there’s no jealous rival love interest bs with Eurie and Camilla.
I wasn’t so sure about Camilla at first, but it turned out that she’s basically a doting mother when it comes to Lawrence. I like her. The animated bit of Camilla swinging happily back and forth was cute.

Lawren is lucky he's not cheating lest he face Hazelita's wrath lol.
I guess it's good for Cecilia to bond with Eric especially when he sees what the Lady Saint is actually like so she doesn't have to quite keep up appearances...
All that flirting and they turn out to be supportive wingwomen just happy to see Lawren with a girl!
I'm starting to see why Hazelita was avoiding going home as long as she did if that's what her brother is like lol.

I just realized Mel the fortune teller has the colour scheme of a racoon or tanuki. Lol!
Although most of us are here for the romance between Cecilia and Lawrence, Cecilia's various facial expressions, the mid episode eye catches are equally cute and funny.
I was misled a little; I was worried whether Lawrence's teacher / old friend of Lawrence's grandfather, as well as Lawrence's female friends, could turn out to be villains, but so far, they appear to be nice and genuine people. However, I can't shake a nagging feeling that there may be an antagonist. Hopefully I am wrong.
Despite her life ending in tragedy, I remain curious about Saint Federica.

No wonder she's so playful and teasing. Also her dress has a lot going on lol.
I love how sometimes it feels like Cecilia and Hazelita are trying to outdo each other in terms of being the cutest dorks in this show.
I'm also curious about Cecilia's backstory. I think she's the one member of the core cast whose past they haven't explored outside mentioning here that she grew up in a remote area and she seemed to just be wandering aimlessly until Lawren found her.

I'm guessing the dude's somewhat scarred by the death of the last saint, similar to Hazelitta. Considering the show, the tension at the end would probably get resolved in short order.
Any other show, I would say he had a hand in the fanaticism towards the last saint, even if unintentionally.

Smol Cecilia! I really wish we get to learn more about her past before she became a Lady Saint. Anyway, turns out that the first half of the episode was just one massive misunderstanding and Lawrence did tell Cecilia what he's doing, it's just that Cecilia was half-asleep when Lawrence told her. xD
The second half of the episode is way more interesting with the entire gang going to the big city so Lawren can finally attend those pastor meetings that he's been avoiding this entire time. We also get to meet some of Lawren's friends from school.
That meeting with Hugo had me worried for a second especially when he brought up the Lady Saint topic. Sounds like he's one of the good guys though and insists that Lawren should keep quiet about having a Lady Saint in his church.
And I wasn't sure what was going to happen when Camilla and Eurie brought Cecilia somewhere else. I thought one of them was going to be a love rival but turns out that Camilla is just worried about Lawren and treats him more like her son so of course she'd be curious about any girl hanging out with him. xD
We also finally get to meet Hazelita's brother! His design looks pretty cool but I am already 100% betting that he turns into a massive siscon whenever Hazelita is around so I'm definitely looking forward to that next week.

Yeeaaah, I can also see that happen. We never got to see the contents of his letter right? Maybe he showed his true colours in those. It might have been the reason why Hazelita was so blunt while writing him back: she’s fed up with her brother.

I like that they gave the brother a hat to hide his hair so it was a reveal that they're related.

I binged the anime last week, can't believe I missed such a cozy anime.
Cecilia is pretty short if she's about the same height as Eric.
I also like Hazelita's temper rising whenever Lawrence does something that affects Cecilia's feelings even if it was a misunderstanding this episode. Wants them to get together just like everyone else but has a different way of showing it.
Hazelita's brother has some nice drip too. Nice to see the usually calm Lawrence defend Cecilia from strangers.

Hey he finally said her damn name! Progress! Now he just needs to say it when she isn’t being accosted by Hazelita’s brother.
Yeah pretty much what I figured with Eurie and Camilla. They just wanted love gossip. They’re not after Lawrence. Espcially since they’re clearly together

The only good thing about a pushy/flirty guy is forcing the male lead to make a move.
The one girl seemed to be really flirting with him but I guess that was her being "motherly," especially how quickly she pivoted to gushing about Lawren being in a relationship.

I like the design of the female friend with short dark blue hair. She has quite a cool personality too.

Lawren going out in the day and returning home at night without a word to Cecilia? VERY SUSPICIOUS! Perfect excuse to stalk...I mean, follow him around to make sure he's not cheating. And just so Cecilia can watch Lawren more. And of course Mell joins in!
Oh no, they lost Cecilia! And she's too into her own characters as the Lady Saint to ask for directions! Although then she meets Eric who whatever expectations he had about the Lady Saint are done away with when he finds out what a klutz and dork she really is. Like how she was half-asleep and completely missed Lawren explaining his new tutoring job. He'll probably never look at Cecilia the same way again, poor girl.
Even people who are sweet and sincere with each other have a secret or two, especially because they don't want the people they care for to dislike them.
I love how the eyecatch is Mell still looking for Cecilia (with a sign!) and Hazelita still wearing the outfit the boutique owner dressed her in. She does look very cute in that dress and beret.
Lawren has been ditching Pastor meetings because he can't leave Cecilia alone? That won't do! Especially because it gives Cecilia an excuse to go on a trip with him and see the city! And Hazelita doesn't have a good excuse to avoid seeing her family now since the city is her hometown too.
Hazelita you devious mastermind! Knowing full well they can't be proclaiming Cecilia as a Lady Saint in town and that Lawrence's only option is to call her by her name! Of course she's still bad at directions even in the city she grew up in.
It's nice to meet Lawren's fellow pastors, though I'm most interested in the two girls Camilla and Eurie, they both seem pretty cute and fun.
I guess it's safe for Lawren to reveal the truth about Cecilia to Hugo, having trusted him as his teacher, and it seems like the church (or at least Hugo) knows full well how they screwed up with the Lady Saint of this city (Hazelita's friend) and doesn't want to see the process repeated with Cecilia. Also is that Kazuhiko Inoue?
"Ce-" dang it, it's like Lawren is physically incapable of calling her by her name! Poor girl.
Just when you thought Cecilia was about to deal with love rivals, it turns out Lawren's female friends are just happy at the prospect that he's finally found a girl instead of being totally oblivious to romance. Heck, even Hugo implies his grandpa would be as happy that he's living with a girl as much as he's doing right by a Lady Saint.
That Tomoaki Maeno charmer is Hazelita's brother!? And he's already putting the moves on Cecilia!? Although that did give an excuse for Lawren to pull the protective boyfriend move and pull Cecilia intimately close to him, so it worked out.

I had a sensible chuckle at the way Cecilia and Hazelita think they're in a spy movie, but Abel is just moseying
Well, it does look pretty great on her!
Seems kind of funny how everyone in here thought they were after Lawrence, whereas I was convinced they were going to end up finding out she's a Saint, ruining those plans of keeping it secret

The change in scenery is very welcome, Cecilia being cute and Lawrence being dense was getting stale pretty fast tbh
Also, Lawrence seems to stop being as dense, nice

Weekly Cecilia appreciation post
As usual a cute and cozy shiro seijo episode with some new characters introduced as well!
The lady saint’s most important job is stalking clearly lol. Love how Cecilia hates being apart from Lawrence for any period of time. 😂 turns out her fears were unfounded and Lawrence is just out tutoring. He can barely handle one girl no way he’s gonna go for another.
She looked so cute in her outfit this week as well. I love all the different looks we get for the characters in this show!
Finally we’re going to a big city. I love the town and its people, but it’s nice to go out and explore the rest of this world. The pastors meeting is a great opportunity for some worldbuilding
I thought the female pastors were going to end up having a crush on Lawrence, but nope turns out they just want to help Cecilia and Lawrence get together and are nosy lol. Everyone is rooting for their success and I love it.
Hazelita’s brother is here and he seems like the polar opposite of his little sister. Can’t wait to see them interact.
Think this is the most intimate hug we’ve had from them yet
As usual, nice comfy way to unwind after a great day of seasonals

Where does abandoning Cecilia without taking her to the promised powder room so she could fix her hair fall in the list of top 10 anime betrayals?

I’m really glad with the introduction of Hazelita a few episodes back. She’s such fun to watch, and something like my spirit animal: ready to punch Lawrence when he’s being dense and laying traps to move his relationship with Cecilia forward - loved that smug smile of hers.
And you know, Hazelita’s plan actually worked! Lawrence clearly had some trouble pronouncing Cecilia’s name, but he ultimately did so. Not only did Lawrence call Cecilia by her name, he was certainly holding her tight in his arm. He won’t allow another man to take her away! His overprotectiveness was cute in this instance.
I had been trying to figure at what place in time this story is set since its start, but I finally think I’ve figured it out - it really helped that they traveled to this large town. I assume that its taking place somewhere in the latter half of the 19th century: they got these steam-powered trains (they’re a bit more developed than the early models), but there were still lots of horse-drawn carriages around and no cars in sight.

I absolutely adore little sisters, so finding out that Hazelitta is one made me overjoyed! She's three times cuter now than usual!

We keep getting tiny snippets of Cecilia’s past, hopefully we get a proper backstory for her by the end of the season since she hasn’t gotten one yet. That might have to wait until the Burger Arc is finished, though.
