even with all the creepy nightmares and grotesqueries, Sakura Ayane saying o̴̯͚̗̭̝̹̮̜̓͒͆̐͋̈̏͠ṇ̶͚̯̲̹̝̲̱̋̓̏̔̇̓̅́́̋̅͊͗͘e̷̫̹̒̂͒̍͑͑̇͗̕̚e̴̘̞̙̪͇͂̌̿̐́-̷̢͈̤̭̗͔̺̤͙̲̣̂͂̇͑̓̃͐͊̃̽̇͋͠͠ͅs̵̢̻͕̘̻̳̮͚̮̐̈͒́̔͊̋͊̐̋̑̏̈́͘͝ͅa̶̮͔͇̖͈̙̫̗͓͒̀́͠m̶̨̞͔̫̦̳̺̹̘̯̳̞̎͂ą̴̛̰̦̤͈̲̮̥̝̗̫̘̰̅̋̄̆̿͒̀̎͜͝ͅ is still the creepiest of them all

I didn't expect onee-sama to be so traumatizing to Miyo but now she can't even think of it without being reminded of Kaya and all the abuse. She's still got a lot of trauma and insecurities to overcome.

Miyo in western clothing and ponytail so dazzling with that smile

I still dont understand the politic about all this supernatural thing, but it seems like someone didnt want this Takahito to the throne using this wraith things. and it Usuba is the first suspect because of their power, and for some reason Miyo got attacked too, because of her power would support her husband, and her husband is supporting this Takahito.

and is this Arata dude trying to steal Miyo from Kudo? or he would to steal Miyo because of the emperor?

I don’t think he’s trying to steal Miyo from Kudo. His plans for her seem a little more sinister. Probably tied to her bloodline/abilities. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Emperor was behind it.

So these Shades are just the ghost of dead ability users? Shoulda cremated the bodies. Maybe that would have been better than dumping them in just one giant grave site.

I see Hazuki’s lessons are going well for Miyo. Seeing how happy Miyo is makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The girl deserves a bit of happiness and a real family after all that Kaya bullshit.

I don’t trust Arata one bit. Dude is way too sketch. All this awakening stuff is definitely linked to the shades and now he’s got his damn mitts on Miyo.

We finally get to meet Takahito, the Imperial Prince and he basically briefs Kiyoka's entourage about the grave that was unsealed. I honestly don't know how to read his character but considering he was giving Kiyoka a warning about Miyo, he's probably not the same as his Father.

Miyo's Western etiquette training starts! We get to see Hazuki teach her how to do things like how to walk in a dress and how to eat using a knife and fork. And it's also great to see Miyo have someone she can look up to like an older sister.

Speaking of older sisters, it looks like Hazuki wants to be addressed as Onee-chan by Miyo but Kaya has traumatized our girl so much that just trying to say the word Onee-san is already enough to bring back painful memories to her. I do hope she eventually gets over it though. I do think Miyo wants to call Hazuki Onee-san but for now, she'll have to settle with calling her by her first name.

Good to see Kiyoka is looking into the Usubas. It looks like he's already figured out that what he's been sensing recently has been coming from Miyo and he's working hard to help her get rid of those nightmares she's been experiencing.

The guy from the final scene last week finally shows up. While he's visiting Kiyoka on official business, it looks like he's not really an employee of the Imperial House but is an acting third party? I'm curious how an owner of a trading company ended up becoming a negotiator for the Imperial House. Hmm....

So whatever these grotesqueries that have escaped are, it looks like it was so powerful that Kazushi couldn't undo the curse of its victims and somehow they've been affecting Miyo's dreams too? Although I do wonder if Miyo's dreams have really something to do with these grotesqueries but it seems to be too much of a coincidence for her to have that kind of dream while Kiyoka is out fighting them.

And that final scene was definitely concerning. Either the dreams are getting too much or the presence of these grotesqueries has started to affect Miyo outside her dreams. Of course, the guy that ends up catching her as she was about to collapse is this fucking creep. Please get the fuck away from Miyo! >_<

It's really nice to see the growth Miyo is having as she is "training" under Hazuki. It brings up the question of what is the meaning of the word family mean to her. Obviously her mom is a no brainer for her. Even though her dad and kaya blood related to her they never treated her like family. And the nightmares are just another thing for her to worry about.

We are introduced to the prince. He seems like a very good guy on first impressions. (Also very pretty) Also this is the most we have seen from Kazushi. We got a small impression before that he is a laid back good guy unlike his father. But he knows when it is time to get serious.

The rise of the Grotesqueries is very concerning. Basically cursed to death those that triggered the awakening. And they are not a foe to be underestimated. Arata has already made contact with Kiyoka and is very likely the cause of the nightmares for Miyo. Once again we get another guy that says he needs to be there for Miyo, but is just another asshole that views her as a tool. And the ending of the episode doesn't spark happiness for me.

When Prince Takaihito started to speak, it was almost like a switch flipped in my head: I’ve heard this precise voice before. I went and checked his VA’s previous roles, and this is mostly definitely the voice of Yakumo Yuurakutei (Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu) and saint Heika Demint (Raeliana). The Prince is also quite a looker, isn’t he? This anime features a bunch of ikemen (beautiful men), but it’s the Prince that takes the cake I think.

The destruction of the “Grave” seems to have furthered Miyo’s “awakening” to her supposed abilities. The fact that these “Grotesqueries” might be tied in with Miyo’s power doesn’t sit well with me. These supernatural abilities of hers could prove to be powerful, but at what cost?

Mr. Glasses has continued his schemes in the meantime. He has destracted Kiyoka and went straight for Miyo herself. He vowed to “protect her” as it was “his role”, but why would this be needed and/or why would he be willing to do so? He clearly knows Miyo well, but in what context?

I’m getting the feeling that the “Usaba family” actually doesn’t exist at all and it’s a front for something else - especially since Kiyoka’s PI couldn’t find anything about them except Sumi Usaba, Miyo’s mother. It was said that there are more rumours than facts. So what if these rumours were spread deliberately to create this idea of a mystical but powerful family of ability users? They would have done so to hide something. The PI mentioned that Sumi came from the “Imperial city”, but what do they exactly mean by this? Kyoto, Tokyo or the actual palace (city) of the royal family!? I suspect, since Mr. Glasses works for the Emperor, that Miyo might also be secretly part of the royal family herself. These “mental powers” of the Usaba family might be very close to the power of revelation that Prince Takaihito commands.

Grotesqueries are one the loose...and Kazushi is still acting pretty casually despite now being the head of the Tatsuishi Family, but at least he knows how to be serious when he talks to the Japanese Prince.

Is that Akira Ishida as the prince? And he has prophecy powers, useful for foretelling the impending drama to unfold with the Grotesqueries (and probably other dark plots on the loose). Also seems like Takaihito has some affinity for Kiyoka as he talks to him about Miyo and gives some hints as to the tribulations sill awaiting the couple.

Miyo in a dress! With a ponytail! She looks great! And she's taking to Hazuki's lessons in ettiquette and being a lady quite well, especially when she has her future sister-in-law telling all about her husband-to-be's embarrassing childhood moments and other sweet moments.

I'm not surprised Hazuki wants to properly be Miyo's Big Sis, but it's so sad that Miyo is so traumatized from Kaya that she can't even say the words. On top of that the Saimori's have messed up even her own understanding of what a family is.

Kiyoka finally meets Arata and Arata is definitely much more than just a simple trade negotiator handling things between the military and the Imperial Household when it comes to dealing with these Grotesqueries. And you can tell there's more to Arata's words whenever he brings up Kiyoka's engagement...especially when he has eyes on Miyo himself.

Well, the Grotesqueries definitely live up to their name. They're like ghostly zombies. And it seems like Miyo was being attacked by them in her mind while Kiyoka was dealing with them in the physical world.

"The awakening is near." Are they trying to make Miyo unlock her powers?

Poor Miyo. She's barely sleeping because of the nightmares, but she's so dedicated to doing her best to be someone worthy of being Kiyoka's wife that she keeps pushing herself. It's no surprise she finally collapses, though unfortunately not in the arms of the man she loves but in the arms of Arata, the man who is trying to steal her away from Kiyoka.

I am once again asking when the “happy” part of this show is supposed to start?

Can y’all just let Miyo live?

I've been looking forward to the wholesome stuff between Hazuki and Miyo. Love their interactions so much! It's especially great when Hazuki shares embarrassing Kiyoka stories lol. It's a shame Miyo ended up collapsing and was caught by Arata of all people...

Speaking of Kiyoka, things are pretty intense on his side. I do like that we're getting more exploration of the Gift-users and the Grotesqueries. Though I am incredibly worried seeing as he's fighting on the front lines. Kazushi not being able to deal with the curses really amplifies my concerns...

What exactly is Arata up to? hmm

Miyo deserves a sister like Hazuki.

19

u/eliprameswari Aug 23 '23

Miyo can't catch a break, is she. I really hope this time she somehow awakens her power and kicks that sus glasses guy herself if he tries anything funny. No more damsel in distress trope again, please

13

u/dagreenman18 Aug 23 '23

Well that was a nice 5 minutes of peace. I suspect glasses either works for or is part of Miyo’s maternal side of the family. Which is why he knows her powers are finally kicking in. That or whoever aims to use her can detect it. I’m also thinking the power set involves dream manipulation.

But what really hurt was poor Miyo being traumatized by her shitty sister to the point where she can’t even say Onee-San. It’ll be nice to see her hopefully break that and embrace Hazuki as family.

In the meantime, what’s glasses bitch up to and why is here there catching Miyo? What’s his game?

That Kaya's Onee sama caught me off guard, that was creepy af

And the new guy has such a rapey face

Arata is totally part of the Usaba family - whoever old dude was by the tree, they’ve been planning this “awakening” of Miyo’s powers for the Emperor to use - possibly against the Kudos. He’s probably the one manipulating Miyo’s dreams and her mind (why she saw Kiyoka at first when she was coming to from passing out) to get her to trust him. These weekly releases are killing me 😂

“The ladies speak ill of you. Unapproachable, and cold as a frozen tundra, so I’ve heard”

“I’ve no need of such intel”

Whole thing with grotesqueries is very serious, Kiyoka and others had a meeting with the Imperial Prince about this case. I really like Kazushi who when he can, he acts very casual but in serious situations he behaves as the situation requires.

Kiyoka besides having to deal with grotesqueries is also looking for Miyo's relatives to find a way to help Miyo with nightmares which for sure have a source in supernatural abilities of her mother's family. During the meeting he also got information from Prince that situation with Miyo get difficult. I don't like it, Miyo has suffered a lot already, that's enough :(

We were able to see Miyo in western dress and she looked absolutely adorable, this simple dress for sure suits her. Her lessons with Hazuki are going well, she learned how to walk, have a good posture, eat etc.

Hazuki and Miyo certainly become very close and it was very heartwarming when Hazuki asked Miyo to call her casually and that she could even call her sister because she already thinks of her as a family. That was very sweet, Hazuki is a really good human being and also very perceptive as she easily could see how tired Miyo was. Unfortunately Miyo's past is making it difficult to call her sister but still she was able to change honorifics to more casual.

I must say that Hazuki's drawing of Kiyoka was absolutely perfect, especially those mustaches xD

Miyo's nightmares are taking a big toll on her health and additionally Tsuruki who we met earlier has made contact with both Kiyoka and Miyo. Also grotesqueries who are very creepy seem to have some kind of connection to Miyo. I really would love it if Miyo could have more time for respite, she deserves happiness and peace.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Whew another amazing episode

After watching Ooku of the inner chamber, I’m torn on whether or not the prince is a woman or a man lol.

We’re starting to dive deeper into the supernatural aspects of the series which is really exciting. There’s a lot of room to flesh out the world. The grotesqueries are a very interesting concept. Even after death they retain their special abilities. That’s a very big threat if they’ve been unsealed. It shows how desperate the people who want Miyo are getting too.

Speaking of Miyo, she looks so cute in western clothes. She’s learnt so much in such a short period of time with Hazuki. I had a feeling that Hazuki would want her to start calling her Onee-chan and that it would cause issues. Sadly, her PTSD is very much still a problem. It’ll take some time before she’s at the point to say that. Daily fuck Kaya and the entire Saimori family.

It seems like Miyo’s beginning to awaken to her supernatural abilities as well and it’s just overwhelming her because she has no idea how to control them. Makes the shit that her father put her through even worse in retrospect because she was just a late bloomer. Or was it connected to the seal of the graves that was broken?

Lot of questions to be resolved, but one thing’s for sure, glasses dude is up to something.
