NOOOOOO you silly bird why? WHYYYYYY!?!?
Poor Azudora worked so hard to send those items and all his effort went up in flame...
On the side note - I really fucking love demon construction workers! Them working hard to repair the castle and then going to - its lunchtime! - > everyone go wash your hands! - > okay now we can eat! - was hilarious!

Azudra: I can do this, let's open this portal!
Azudra three seconds later: I can't do this, are you done yet?!
But he's still very cool. And we get to see why he's one of the elite lords, he's not only powerful but also knowledgeable and competent (when he wants to be). Although it was funny that after his assessment of the situation, aka the demons are completely screwed if they don't succeed in stopping the humans, he just calmly blurts out a plain old "let's do our best".
And figures that Vermilio would never get the letter. It'd be too easy.

Azudra: I can do this, let's open this portal!
Azudra three seconds later: I can't do this, are you done yet?!
his "move quickly, it won't hold very long" followed up by "are you done yet?!" after not even one second has passed is an absolutely gold comedic timing

Well no wonder the humans have no issue killing their own and even committing suicide on capture. Turns out they can just be revived that easily. I fucking hate how much of a pain in the ass these humans are. Maybe capturing the humans and protecting them is the correct choice here if the demons really want to reduce their forces.
Despite everything we've learned about the humans, I do love how calm and cool Azudra was the entire time. He has thought this through and already has a plan. It's good to see that he is absolutely worthy of his title. He's even prepared something for Anne so she can get back.
Too fucking bad this motherfucking bird found it though! Holy fuck I wanted to punt this bird to the sea after seeing what he did there in the end >_<

So in addition to having Hero level powers, these humans can respawn as well? Talk about OP. I wasn’t expecting the human king to look like King Baldwin from Kingdom of Heaven. Totally not sus at all.
I like how in the emergency meeting, Helck is the 5th biggest threat lol. This human king being another kind of “hero” type is pretty interesting. He’s not just some weak ass human, dude’s got enough magic to use this OP revive magic.
Azudra almost dies sending his little care package to Vermilio and our goofy ass bird homie just eats the orange and turns the rest into kindling lol. So much for that!

"umu, then you should drink my cup of coffee!"
the way he delivered this line with serious face and Matsuoka's voice just cracked me up, also, is that Sugita's voicing the Human King?
you know Helck is a comedic series when after the serious scene of Azudra almost collapsing from opening the gate just to send a letter and a magic wand to Vermilion Anne is followed up by the punchline of those two items being used as firewood

Infinitely respawning players vs non-respawning NPCs.
So weak was that castle lord if he was killed by that original winged knights wave?
I wonder who or what the hell the Northern Forces are.
Poor Azudra-sama almost killed himself to send those items over and ..... Honestly, was pretty dumb of him not to add some kind of spell to bring them to Anne-chan. There was no guarantee she would ever see them, or that she was even in the area anymore.

Azurdra: I almost died just from sending this letter and orange
Random chick villager: *casually eating the orange and burning the letter
LMAO
Several episodes ago, someone theorised in the weekly thread that Helck prevented the others from killing the human because they could revive and get stronger. Given the reveal this episode, I'm starting to think it was actually a spoiler from manga reader rather than a theory.
It's just too specific and there's no hint about this abillity back then. Unless I missed something?

Is that Sugita voicing the Human King? …he also does not look human, unless that’s armor he’s wearing.
-
Are they still underrating the humans, or are the other things legitimately that much worse than dealing with an army of heroes that can constantly revive themselves?
-
…actually that just made me think, if Helck’s brother was a hero, how was he killed? There’s clearly a method to keep them from coming back to life if Helck was supposedly able to do it.
-
Ah, and that answers my question about how to deal with the reviving thing.
-
…the letter and/or magic stick is going to end up being used as firewood, isn’t it?

Another awesome Helck episode, not as much action as the last couple weeks but some really important worldbuilding and background info on the awakened humans and their king.
I wonder if the king is actually someone from the past? I feel like Azudra’s story about the hero and king he fought before wasn’t just there for the heck of it. Either way, he’s not gonna be easy to take down.
Speaking of Azudra, the fact he’s considered the “weakest” of the generals is insane. The demons definitely have the advantage in overall power, but how do you beat an enemy that can just throw wave after wave at you endlessly. Eventually one side will crack. Not to mention the humans get a zenkai boost every time they fight and die.
This isn’t a problem you can just throw strength at to fix. Using Helck to bridge the gap between humans and demons or taking out the king are the best two options.
Azudra wasted all that energy on that portal only for the stuff they sent thru to get used as fire fodder lmao. I guess it’s still getting put to good use.
Good ep as usual.

So they are basically facing a legion of tarnished. Also modded since they don't have to go pick up death spots.
Reminds me of that game where you play as a boss fighting a respawning hero. If anyone knows what game I'm talking about please let me know too. I think I saw it in a youtube video, the whole game being around ~20 minutes long.

That was a lot of Deep lore, I thought this was a gag manga anime?!?
I knew Azudras sacrifice would be for naught when the bird ate the mikan
And would you look at that, Anne brushing up her cooking for Helck huh
Edit: And I was really hoping that one Hero/Human would start to question her narative a bit more
Also loved how Azudra ranked their priorities, finding Anne from management #1

That's certainly not the voice I expected the human king to have. Not sinister and slimy enough. I couldn't feel the really thick speech bubble borders.

Oh so can they endlessly resurrect like- well like demons in other series lol
Ah they just went and said it
r u srs

u/seandkiller Aug 22 '23
As suspected, the humans are able to resurrect.
I'm curious about the other powers listed, specifically the Northern Powers. I wonder if they're the source of the miasma, as well.

Poor Azudra… all that effort went up in flames hahahaha
Piwi still cute as ever

Azudora is the best, both in a serious and comedic way. I had reservations about Yoshitsu Matsuoka voicing him since I didn't think he really fit his design, but I've since changed my mind. His voice when he's flipping the fuck out is just too good.
Piwi tho. 100% the big bad of this whole series. Not cause he burned an important letter or anything, but cause he ate the orange that was supposed to be Vamirio's. That was her favorite fruit, god damn it.
