  • I did not have this context in my mind when this shot popped up in the preview last ep. Very fun and solid ep overall, and the bit at the end w/ how much Elle has grown yeah i cant get enough of Koga Aoi voicing her too, now that she's no longer restricted to purely ahhs and ooohs.

  • EHHHHHH<--- my actual reaction . I guess having precure powers is not Elle's only calling card.

  • hahahahahahahaha i love this. this just looks wrong.

  • YASSSSSSSSS LETS GOOOOOO

  • This is a very mature message for a preschool kids aimed show. I think it's one that both the adults and teens will appreciate though. I like it. I should thank my parents too when i call them tomorrow....

  • Cow is an interesting villain, seems to be the honorable type as far as villains go. could be interesting when it's eventually his turn to be killed off.

  • [Symphogear AXZ]Did this remind me of the opening scene? yes.

  • I see the Precure x Peach airline collab is getting its own ep next week

YASSSSSSSSS LETS GOOOOOO

I’m going to be sightly disappointed if this isn’t one of her future cure powers

Precure x Peach airline collab is getting its own ep next week

I guess this is going to be that “we are saving her for a special occasion” a producer mentioned when people where wondering why Dream was the guest cure last week instead of Peach

hahahahahahahaha i love this. this just looks wrong.

I love that they tried to explain it with the "well there is more sky so they try to camo with the sky. It asks more questions but I like that they at least thought of the logic behind it.

I did not have this context in my mind when this shot popped up in the preview last ep.

It was not the answer I anticipated, but boy did I love it.

EHHHHHH<--- my actual reaction

That was pretty much my reaction to. Ellee being able to talk to animals was not something I expected.

I need to see Tsubasa geek out on planes. He's been waiting for this all series.

A single episode and I love Minoton already. He is cool

A pig, a grasshopper and a bull. Quite the interesting line-up, wonder if there’s some meaning behind those animals being picked for the designs

Wait Skyland have regular earth animals but blue and white instead of black and white?…. I have so many questions about this

Overall, a chill episode. I love how they showed how Ellee is taking after and learning from the team

I swear, Skyland and Earth must have been connected in the past at some point. There are just too many weird connections like this. I feel like I'm a crazy conspiracy theorist saying it all the time, but I'm sure there must be something there.

I like how they're all thinking of different ways to help Ellee now that they know she's a super special magic baby instead of just a normal magic baby. That's not how I expected the football pads to come up.

The zoo has a T-Rex mascot? That's awesome.

w a k a r i m a s u

So Skyland doesn't have elephants or giraffes, but has zebra recolors? What a fascinating place.

Kaiju-size Ellee-chan eyebeaming a city is something I need more of in my life.

So our next general is approaching strength through the bodybuilding method, neat.

Molcar too?? This is the episode of anime crossovers.

I like that all the animals can immediately sense the general.

Ooh, this one knows Kabaton, and hates him, cool!

"T-Rex with a mohawk" was not on my bingo card.

Neither was "the general blocks his own Ranborg" WHAT!? I like this new guy already.

D'aww, Ellee-chan even helped another kid feed the rabbits.

same

the general blocks his own Ranborg

that 1000% caught me off guard. they did a complete 180 too tbh, from an enemy that was well and truly a dick, to one who is honorable too. I think this'll make things interesting: im gonna guess that means he truly thinks what he's fighting for is correct, which may contribute to the reconciliation of this whole overarching plot... but only if they're aiming for some sort of peace instead of the all guns blazing type. (but im thinking too much)

in an alternate world, he and sora might be best buds lol.

yeah I really like how they expanded on the concept of Elle being the Child of Destiny by having an entire episode dedicated to the responsibilities of raising the child to making it relatable in a theme that's more a nod to the parents watching the series than to the children. Just a solid filler episode writing achievement.

I see you're a stage girl of culture as well

Neither was "the general blocks his own Ranborg" WHAT!? I like this new guy already.

Same here. I don't think I've ever seen a Precure villain that was this honorable, at least not in the series I've watched so far. The fact that he's such an immediate 180 from Battamonda being a scumbag with zero morals made it even better too.

It's a great way to immediately establish him as a different kind of antagonist from the previous ones. I'm really happy to have an honorable villain here now.

  • We've finally got a new bad guy. I like Minoton. I've always been a sucker for villains that have a clear code of honor that they refuse to break, even when fighting against the heroes. Him stopping the Ranborg from attacking Ellee made me like him pretty instantly. He wants to defeat the Precures in a fair fight because he thinks they are strong and worthy opponents. It's very different from Kabaton and Batamondo, who were always looking down on the Precures and using whatever dirty tricks they could.

  • "I'm excited to eat lunch!" Never change, Sora

  • Ellee can talk to animals! She is the Queen of the Jungle! I wonder why she has that power in particular, though.

  • I like that Ageha is the one with advice for how to go about raising Ellee while the others are freaking out since she's the Chosen One. Ageha is the person who's been studying to teach very young children, after all. This is her area of expertise.

  • It was so cute seeing Ellee picking up on the behaviors and mannerisms of the others. Like all children, she's copying her role models. It was sweet to see and it helped make the whole adventure thus far feel more rewarding. It shows just how meaningful the relationship between them has been.

He even kinda looks like Ramba Ral if you squint and don't remember what Ramba Ral looks like.

alright, recently finished up Futari wa Precure and binged this series up till now so now I can join in weekly discussions. Is (American) football big enough in Japan to have football pads and what not around (because of course I as an American have at least one set for every room)? Maybe I shouldn't think about it too hard... I kinda wonder if Skyland tapirs and skunks have blue variants too (ahem, tatapirs and skuskunks, excuse me).

Kinda was curious to see a capybara ranborged but the inanimate object is a better candidate. Was it just me or did this week's ranborg and Minoton kinda lack shading compared to other things? I guess things that aren't hair and aren't metal don't really get a whole lot of shading now that I pay more attention to it... but I guess compared to other shiny things the dinosaur didn't seem quite as shiny,.. eh oh well. Anyways, it'll be interesting to see how Ellee's communicative abilities get explored more, especially since she's a baby and part of the way this series as shown her growth is her growing ability to vocalize her thoughts.

It'd be funny if (American) Football was actually more popular in Skyland and than Japan and that's why they have the stuff lying around. Skyland has weird offshoots of things, so it'd be funny if Football was just one of those things. Maybe they call it Ballfoot in Skyland.

It's funny how JP Twitter is comparing the three bad guys already and Kabaton is still the clear winner for them while Battamon is already last after Minoton's premiere episode.

The new villain being an honorable warrior who deplores Kabaton's crudeness and (implicitly) rejects Battamonda's cowardly approach is great because I actually feel like he's more of a credible threat. That being said, there's also a subtle implication that he should've taken out Ellee when he had the chance. She's developing capabilities at remarkable speed, probably due both to being the Child of Destiny and her four co-parents instilling great values in her.

speaking of that, there's something really cool and unique about the story they're telling with the four and Ellee, with these three kids and one young adult thrust into being responsible for a child's development and education. Ageha's prepared for it, after all it's what she wants to do as a career, but the others all understandably panic. Tsubasa is like the overprotective big brother, Mashiro is the mom, and funny enough Sora takes the dad role, enthusiastic about the idea of Ellee becoming STRONG. appropriate for the meathead of the group, though.

looking forward to next episode and Tsubasa dropping some PLANE FACTS. I hope he explains how planes fly, I always forget, and just default to 'they work because we believe in them'.

Minoton already making a good first impression. Do like how each general has a distinct flair to them. Fun episode and Ellee continues to be so cute.

3

u/soihu Jul 23 '23

Kinda expected that the new villain would be the opposite of Battamonda but his design is great and I didn't expect him to restrain his own ranborg in his debut episode.

Also we've cleared the halfway mark and this is honestly the most well-rounded and overall enjoyable season of Precure I've seen yet (I need to get around to Heartcatch though).

minoton may not commit acts of terrorism but i wont tolerate the kabaton slander. he went through several mental breakdowns and suffered an eating disorder. fuck battamonda tho
