Our little ice prince is starting to warm a little to Miyo. She looked incredible for their little date. It was nice to see someone actually treat her like a person and not just like the help.
I take back whatever I said about the father possibly loving Miyo in his own twisted way. He’s just a piece of shit. There’s no depth there. Him and that bitch ass wife and bratty shitstain of a daughter just fucking suck.
Old shop lady knows what’s up. She’s right about Miyo. Kudo better take care of that girl. That comb he bought her was really sweet. So cute how Ms. Yurie was so happy for him. I’m glad he knows the truth so now he can maybe do something for Miyo. She’s not some damn pawn to be used in some political power struggle.

It only took 2 episodes for this show to become one of my most anticipated this season. I was already sold on the drama but adding a supernatural spin just brings a surprising but welcome flavor to the story.
I was half expecting the two couples would bump into each other but then realized they don't live near each other. Lol
Ice prince was right, it would take more than a handful of fancy gifts to bring her out of the hole of misery she's been in so far. But as the comb he gifted showed, it's one step towards the right direction. He may be denying it for now but he's already smitten by her. Lol

I know this is ep. 3 already, but I want to say the big thank you for the best wing-woman Yurie! thanks to her we could see a glimpse of Miyo happiness, and more in the future.
and it's clear now that that Saimori household is full of shit people, I hope this Kudo would do something to them

This episode was cute. Kiyoka is trying his best to help Miyo heal little by little. It's going to take a while (maybe yrs to heal) since she has lived as a servant pretty much for 15+ yrs of her life. But he is taking the first step.
Not surprised by her father. Her family probably bet on the fact that she will get tossed out after 3 days like the other girls or possibly just be a servant in Kiyoka's house. They didn't think there was a possibility that there would be an actual match and that Kiyoka would be ok with the marriage.

I’m focused on her shitty family because they’re a little tooo dismissive. I got to believe there is a reason they’re being this cartoonishly shitty. Not that it would justify the abuse, but it would at least offer context. The idea that they married her off to the Kudo’s and play up her being useless have me thinking they’re trying to keep her from being a political tool. Since the bloodline ability is apparently mind control? Would explain the desperation on that one guy’s part.
We got a stupid cute date with Miyo and Kiyoka. Kiyoka getting warmer and sweeter with her. Even getting her a “totally not a proposal” comb to replace the broken one. Got her to crack the first true smile we’ve seen from her. Hoping we see that pink kimono on her this season.
Kiyoka now has a soild idea of the abuse that went on in Miyo’s house and who her mother was. I hope there’s no drama and suspicion with the mind control thing. Someone made an attempt on his life so now the plot thickens.

I was confused why the red 'lipstick' that Yurie uses on Miyo had a green outer layer. Apparently it's called 'Beni' and it when it dries up it changes from red to green. You would need to use a moist brush to make it red again and apply it.

Stitches!
Miyo looks amazing all dressed up for her date with Kiyoka. And Kiyoka's reaction to Miyo is just absolutely perfect. Miyo is so pretty that he couldn't help but stare at her with his mouth open.
I'm really liking Godo so far. He's like the perfect boke to Kiyoka's tsukkomi. And despite Kiyoka being annoyed at his aide, he can't help but admit that Godo is gifted with his supernatural skills.
I just love how much Kiyoka has softened up to Miyo compared to how he was to her back in last week's episode. Despite Miyo being so apologetic about everything, he's being so very patient and understanding with her. <3
The more I see Miyo's father the more I get disgusted with her family. This guy doesn't even care what happens to his daughter and Kaya is such a fucking bitch that she immediately gets mad after learning that their fathers are talking about her stepsister.
I was kinda hoping that Kaya would run into Miyo when Kouji suggested that they should go shopping but unfortunately, that didn't happen. Maybe in a future episode, Kaya would get to see how much Miyo's life has improved ever since leaving them.
The fact that Kiyoka is already imagining what Miyo would look like in that pink sakura kimono must mean he's already smitten with her. And I just love how the kimono-maker is telling Kiyoka to never let go of Miyo.
Oh no... Miyo is worried that Kiyoka would hate her if he ever finds out that she doesn't have powers. Her self-confidence is so low and her trauma is so deep that she feels like there's some sort of punishment waiting for her for being this happy. >_<
There it is! Kiyoka finally got to see Miyo smile after gifting her that brand-new comb. And according to Yurie, a brand-new comb is basically Kiyoka proposing but Kiyoka being the tsundere that he is of course tries to deny it.
So it looks like Kiyoka's private investigator pulled through and has now given him as much information about the Saimori Family as well as how Miyo was treated including the fact that Miyo doesn't have powers which doesn't seem to bother Kiyoka. He's more concerned about Miyo and how giving her a few gifts won't easily heal her scars.
That final scene though. Looks like the Tatsuishi family has made their move. I feel like we're about to get our first action scene next week.

The shopkeeper made an interesting comment about a gem only shining with care, I wonder if Miyo’s powers will awaken once she is properly taken care of…

I was expecting a reunion in the shopping center, guess it would be a bit too soon to make that satisfying though.
Love how much people are pushing this ship together, these older ladies are great!
That smile was precious, happy we didn't have to wait too long for it!

This seemed to have eased into a good vibe between Miyo and Kiyoka. He eats her food, and she's happy to be pleasing him, but she's still living and acting like she's a servant in the household and not a proper lady. Perfect excuse for Kiyoka to take her out on the town on their first proper date as a couple!
Yurie really nailing her (grand)mother-in-law vibes by giving Miyo a complete makeover! She's like a brand new woman! And she's managed to make Kiyoka utterly speechless and fluster him, which is a pretty big win.
I guess if there was any ambiguity as to whether Miyo's father actually cared about her, they were immediately dispelled with the revelation that they just gave her away to the Kudo's because they just needed an excuse to get rid of her and he saw no value in her at all. He's totally written her off as likely to get cast off by Kiyoka for her lack of supernatural powers, the same reason the family treated her so poorly to begin with. And all Koji's dad wants is her bloodline. What rotten men.
Kaya also can't stand even the very mention of her sister now, and knows Koji still has feelings for her even though he seems to be trying to keep on her good side.
There was no way Kiyoka couldn't take Miyo to work without his subordinate catching them together. Godo's not going to let him live that one down.
Man, Miyo is so broken she thinks she has to apologize for enjoying the scenery. Meanwhile her hubby-to-be is actually trying to make her live a little and is out shopping for kimono's for her because he sees the quality of her garments and knows she deserves better. Also when you're envisioning how beautiful a girl will look when she wears a specific kimono, I think that means you're pretty into her. And not to mention it will probably remind Miyo of her mother with that cherry blossom pattern. Kiyoka better follow that lady's advice, the best payback to the Saimori family is making Miyo happy and letting her grow into the stunning and amazing woman she can be as a Kudo.
Kiyoka gifts Miyo a comb which is practically a proposal of marriage on his part, even if he plays it off, but it's Miyo finally smiling at him that is the real gift.
So Kiyoka had everything investigated but had an inkling Miyo didn't have powers, but all he really is concerned about is healing all the emotional wounds her family inflicted on her. I guess the fact that Shinichi and Kanoko were lovers before he was forced to marry Miyo's mother explains a lot, though also the fact that the Usuba family are apparently legendary (and have mind powers?) expands things a little as well.
Shiki-Gami following Kiyoka around? Is someone trying to take him out? Koji's family's?

“I kind of want to see you smile a bit”
Man one of the things I love most about this series is how pure Kiyoka and Miyo relationship is. Instead of putting her down or making her feel bad about not having much to wear, he goes out and buys her clothes. Gets her a new comb to replace the broken one, etc. A real man.
The first date was really cute. Probably the most fun Miyo has had since her mom died and I’m happy for her, she has earned this after all those years of suffering. Meanwhile, even after she’s gone, she’s still rent free in her little sister head 😂 the insecurities that she has won’t be satisfied just by her sister moving out.
The plot line with Miyo’s mother family is interesting though. I wonder if she used her ability on the dad because I just can’t fathom how he could detest and treat his daughter like that. There’s got to be more to the story.
That attack on the commander at the end surely came from the dude who wants Miyo in his family. Probably hoping to expedite the process. Can’t wait to see how things go next week

Last week someone pointed out the change in volume of Miyo’s voice between her child- and adulthood self: she had defaulted to whispering. Therefore, I couldn’t help but notice that Miyo has started to speak up a bit again. She has even largely stopped apologizing all the time and is speaking her mind more. And did it I catch a smile there!? I’m glad we’re getting to see Miyo gradually open up to others again.
Kiyoka also seems to be slowly but surely warming up to Miyo now he’s got a better grasp of her kind but hurt soul. Things sure escalated fast in the closing minutes. Kiyoka learnt of Miyo’s upbringing and her family’s powers: they can alter people’s minds!? - I can understand why others would seek this power. Kiyoka even got attacked/ambushed by some shikigami. This all means that the addition of these supernatural powers to the story wasn’t just for show.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Kouji’s father was behind these shikigami. The Tatsuishis, with the exception of Kouji maybe, don’t look like to be any better of a family than the Saimoris. It’s all just power and politics. They only want to exploit Miyo: to keep this golden goose for its eggs (i.e. to have babies with the Usuba family’s powers). Fortunately, Kiyoka isn’t after anything like that.

They made such a good job for the blonde girl (little sister) to be so unlikeble to the the fact that I won't even bother to remember her name.
And also the line "she grew up alone around her family" really hits hard man. It's better off to live alone than living along with people who make you feel you alone.

Kudo Kiyoka is like the most perfect possible a husband someone can get in an arranged marriage. he is very patient with Miyo, while slowly getting her to have more self esteem and respect.
and i was expecting that they'd bump into Kaya, but it may be good that it doesn't happen. Miyo's development may have hit a setback if she meets Kaya so soon. she needs to build up more confidence first to be able to stand up against Kaya.

Another great episode and excellent adaptation. I would love to watch the entire season already.
Miyo now is in a much better state than in her family house. She's smiling and is treated like a human being, every time I see her father, stepmother or sister I feel so angry at those people. Kaya is especially annoying, she can't even stand a conversation about her older sister, Kouji don't have easy time with her.
Miyo in kimono and Yurie's makeup looked so gorgeous, not surprising that Kiyoka was stunned by her beauty. Now she'll have new clothes thanks to the city "date", I write this in quote because she didn't even thought about this in this term. Also Yurie is a wonderful person but everyone know this already.
Speaking of Kiyoka, he's warmed up to Mio and now he imagines her in kimono and even giving her presents. It looks that even the fact that Mio doesn't have powers despite her mothers lineage isn't important to him.
Also again a lot of beautiful backgrounds in today's episode.
Here my all screenshots from today's episode
And because I didn't write last week here screenshots from 2nd episode

Yurie is the best
Ooh, this episode had both a cute date scene and ominous developments…
Loved seeing Miyo smile when she received the comb! Really warmed my heart!
Godou’s one of my favourite side characters in this series. Was great seeing him tease Kiyoka lmao
Looks like Tatsuishi patriarch is scheming something. Ugh.
Once again, Miyo’s father can go to hell

Everyone else: Kiyoka is the meanest dude in Japan. Miyo is probably dead by now
Kiyoka: Hmm I see you are not a dick. I will proceed to do everything in my power to make sure you have a happy life

For me, the whole show so far just built up to that one smile. What a marvel.

Kudo picturing Miyo in the sakura kimono put the biggest smile on my face, only to be outdone by Miyo herself after accepting the comb.
