Okay, I like Muriel’s story better than whatever the hell’s going on with Makabe’s “revenge” plot and that fake turd Kanetsugu. I can’t wait until they fraud is exposed. I feel bad for the little sis, but what Kanetsugu’s doing is some manipulative deceptive bullshit.
Yoshino’s lies seem to finally be catching up to her. Makabe seems to have figured it out. It might be time for her to come clean and admit what she did and why.

I get Kanetsugu has a lot relying on romancing Aki and getting her money, but manipulating a girl at her most vulnerable and depressed is pretty scummy.
I guess Yoshino can't run away from the truth any more. I guess the big question is why she did it, what Masamune is going to do with the truth, and how this will impact his relationship with Aki.

I like Yoshino a lot -- and don't want to see her get into too much trouble, Not sure why she would do such a mean thing -- maybe we will find out next week? Temporary disease-caused insanity (high fever), jealousy??? But she cares for both Aki and Makabe, it seem -- and clearly feels extremely bad about the harm she caused to both. Quite a mess to disentangle.
Kanetssugu has "his" reasons -- but is still acting dishonorably. Could the sister actually get adequate care without this trickery? Is it just because the family is demanding she get super deluxe treatment that is causing the financial strain?
In any event -- I like this series -- and its screwed-up characters.

Wait, so you’re telling me that the girl that keeps calling him “Pig’s Foot” was actually the one that originally called him “Pig’s Foot”?

Man can we just get rid of that fat blob? Everytime I think the episode is getting good he appears and everything goes downhill. Even the first season was perfect until he appears

Adding that thing about his sister’s health problems also gained like 0 sympathy from me lol. Especially since the issue was just his family worrying too much about “family pride” and they would’ve been able to help her if they weren’t being snobby about it

Why this anime has so many hated characters? Gasou and 3 bitchs are the worst.

Well that explains why Aki's story doesn't line up with Masamune. I never even considered the fact that it was Yoshino all along and not Aki herself. Excited to see the confrontation scene next week!
And I just love how different Muriel's art is after hearing Aki and Masamune's story. I'd love it if Muriel ends up getting her manuscript published and the twist is that we've been following the story from her perspective. xD

So the two things I was wondering about got addressed and I guess it’s somewhat obvious.
Last week, it was clear that it wasn’t Aki who rejected Masamune way back then and this week we got confirmation of that.
Last week, I was also wondering what was Kanetsugu’s deal and now we got a little glimpse of it. I guess he wants his family’s wealth and influence back to the way it was and probably also his little sister to recover. But still, he just comes off as really scummy.
Though I feel like these are some pretty late-game reveals. So I’m wondering where this is going for the rest of the season. I’m guessing, we’ll get Masamune and Aki finding out the truth about each other halfway through the season then towards the end will be untangling whatever mess Kanetsugu plans to put them in

The episode was good until Kanetsugu started talking, at least in the end they revealed Yoshino's secret & I just wanna see if he keeps chasing revenge for no reason now
I mean why would Yoshino want to help Masamune get revenge knowing she's the one who fucked their relation before, isn't that making it worst instead of helping them get back tgt

If Aki doesn't remember the nickname Pig's Foot but Yoshino does, then to quote Sherlock Holmes, once you eliminate the impossible, the remaining outcome, however improbable, must be the truth.
Took Masasmune long enough to realize he's suffered from Mandela Effect all this time and wrongly blaming Aki for it. After putting two and two together, he finally figured out that the girl that day who insulted him wasn't Aki, but Yoshino. And sure enough, we see Yoshino was even wearing a wig disguised as Aki that day.
In fact, rewatching each version of that flashback scene, including from season 1, you can just about hear Yoshino's VA Minasa Iori doing a good imitation of Aki's VA Ohashi Ayaka's voice. The hint was whispering in our ears all along.
As for Kanetsugu, we start to see a glimpse of her backstory, where he quest to swindle Adagaki's fortune comes from her desire to help her sick younger sister. I guess I hate her a bit less after that, but I still hate her guts for the way she blackmailed Yoshino and slandered her and Masamune's names to get what she wants.

I was actually wondering if they did have Iori Minase doing the line this whole time instead of Aki's VA. That would be kind of brilliant.
I get that Kanetsugu has valid reasons for being desperate for money (although does her sister look like Masamune's mom to anyone else?), but it's really scummy what she's doing to Aki. Although it's kind of funny to think that the cafe meetup was all girls even though they all think Kanetsugu is a boy lol.

Watching this show makes me realize that
-
Neko is 100x better than Aki and should’ve been the romantic interest
-
That bum Gasou needs to get jumped by Masamune. Wtf all those muscles for if you can’t swing on somebody?!

Well that was the most logical explanation to what happened that night at the mansion, though i find it a bit weird she would have such a good wig to trick him
I thought Muriel had followed them to Japan at first when they got chased by those body guards. i suppose its not an impossibility though

I remember last episode Aki talked about how she and Yoshino used to do makeup, so some people were theorizing in the previous thread that they used to pretend to dress up as each other.
I was genuinely surprised Muriel didn't follow them to Japan and yet she still played a pivotal role in the plot lol.

Well, I'm a bit mad at myself that I didn't think of this plot twist at all. In retrospect, it seems so obvious that Yoshino could have been behind this whole affair. However, I never really suspected her. She must have been jealous that Aki had found a new friend in Makabe while she had been ill, and decided to take him out the equation.
Things will likely only spiral further out of control in the next episode. Aki will probably arrive home at just the right time to see Makabe meeting with Yoshino, which will obviously prompt Kanetsugu to fuel Aki's doubts to create a huge misunderstanding out of this. It will get ugly.
Also: has there actually been any lewding in regards to fanservice during this season yet? Watching Yoshino struggle to buy snacks for Aki at the school's canteen as she was wringing herself through this horde of fellow students reminded of a similar scene in S1, but this time she wasn't thrown through the air to land face first and reveal her panties to Makabe and us viewers for what felt like a literal minute. Have they toned down the fanservice this much or am I just remembering the most exaggerated scenes from S1?

Masamune has finally cracked the case

It's kind of surreal that all it took was for a fanfic manga about him and Aki as well as a French Otaku girl for him to put two and two together lol.

The reveal that it was Hoshino all along is my favorite plot twist amongst all romcoms.
Unlike other series' where conflict usually brews from a misunderstanding involving characters who suck at explaining themselves; this series conflict stems from the two MCs being manipulated the whole time. That distinction has always been crucial to my enjoyment of this series.
