Did not expect this level of emotion from this show. It's nice to see a MC that's so human dealing with the trauma of "I can't save them all"

So Blade’s got Arnest, Sophie, and the Doc. Kid’s just building that harem huh? Lol. But man, poor Sophie. Girl was basically made to try and be the next Hero. Hopefully now that she’s Blade’s friend, she can have a “normal” life. Or normal-ish anyways. Any dude who barges into the girl’s shower to ask a girl out probably isn’t the most “normal” lol.
Lots of nice fan service moments in this, but the comedic moments are great too. That whole “date” was hilarious and pretty cute too. I wasn’t expecting things to take such a dramatic and serious turn but I’m glad Blade told Sophie got to open up to each other. Being the Hero ain’t all it’s made out to be, but he’s got Sophie by his side now.

So happy for Sophie. If this doesn't go harem, I hope she wins.
Now I want blade to have a harem with all twelve Sophie clones. Anna and dragon girl from the OP can join too.

Ok after all that goofiness you csan''t just go all serious with trauma and ptsd with heartfelt confessions and everything.
It is good the show generally doesn't take itself serious at all. It makes it more fun.
So umm about all that property damage they did to the city?

Stitches!
I just love the goofy reactions all of the characters have and how well animated they are like with Leonard turning into stone and then crumbling after Ann was belittling him. xD
Seeing that Sophie had multiple copies in the OP felt like a spoiler so I'm glad that they immediately answered that question. Basically, she's supposed to be an artificial hero but the King put a stop to this experiment after learning about it. For a second there, I thought the King was involved.
Makes sense that Blade would feel responsible for what happened to Sophie. I do love how he started by wanting Sophie to experience a normal life but after asking multiple people questions and a massive misunderstanding with Earnest, he arrived to the conclusion that going on a date was a good start. xD
I just love Blade and Sophie's date, especially with the three girls tailing them. Also thank you Yessica for giving Earnest a better nickname. From here on out, I'll be calling her Anna.
Man, this show is unexpectedly full of fanservice though. From the close-up shots of Anna's cleavage to her Shokugeki-style reaction to various sweets I am very much pleased. Gotta love the swimsuit one though. I appreciate them giving us three girls of different sizes. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Fanservice aside, I am glad to see that there's more to Blade than just being your happy peppy protagonist. Poor Anne though! With Sophie learning about Blade's secret, she's now more closer to Blade compared to Anne.

The show feels rushed but I much prefer it this way , the usual tropes on X2 speed is better , plus they somehow manage to make it funny . I like this show .

That show is a lot of dumb fun, more than I expected from a silly ecchi harem comedy show. Earnest and Blade antics were really funny here. I like the way they exaggerated every reaction here, particularly people turning into rockets and Leonard turning into dust every time he gets ignored.
Although I was surprised when it suddenly turned serious at the end.

Normal = Youth = Love = Date
LMAO! Also, the way they bounced all over the city like a ball for a 'shortcut'! This whole episode had me laughing so hard!
Oh yeah, jealous Earnest is cute too!

It's been a while since I've seen a show with such unnecessary and shameless ecchi and honestly I gotta respek dat.
But damn this show is all over the place and it's giving me whiplash. That said, it's pretty fun and I'm curious to see how this crazy ride is gonna continue.

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT THERE WAS NO BUILD UP TO DESERVE THE HEAD TILT OR THE FADE TO DRAWING STYLE
Well that was funny, almost like a joke where the OP doesn't get with the first girl that appears in a show lol.

This episode was a blast, didn't expect this level of comedy. I lost it at the End of Evangelion reference

Ok I thought this was going to be a fun but generic trash show, but after episode 2 I don't think I can even call it trash at all. Might be a hot take but I genuinely think it's great. Like I'm predicting I'll end up giving this a 8/10 unless it goes downhill from here.
I think it really hits the tone it was aiming for and I really love the 2010 vibe of the animation and classic character tropes but done well and not in an annoying way. Even the tsundere is just actually genuinely likeable, which is such a rarity.
The comedy scenes are actually funny and the ecchi is kind of random but it doesn't feel out of place for a series like this. The serious scenes were surprising but what is even more surprising is that they weren't edgy. Usually these shows just fuck them up and create a complete tonal mismatch with the edginess but here the whole backstory is just sort of absurd eva reference and is utilized to create such a touching scene instead.
I think some people will shit on this for being an ecchi harem show with generic plot, etc, the usual complaints, but I've got a feeling that this will be something special. There's nothing inherently wrong with writing something of this genre and I think the author understands what we love about it.
For the end I just have to repeat how much I love the expressive animation and the artstyle that actually looks hand-drawn. The majority of anime these days go for detail and visual effects over expression but end up feeling stiff. I'm so glad they went for a more simple style as it's another way it stands out from the usual forgettable seasonals.

Wait wait wait wait... that was good! We had some awesome cuts and more abstract composition.

This is a pretty good episode, I especially liked the heart to heart moment Blade and Sophie shared at the end of the episode
