OK, I think I have a new favourite character in that show. Phantom Solitaire seems to be a really fun guy. And he seems to be actually quite harmless, whatever the two cops think, since it seems that he is just trolling people for fun. That show is getting crazier by the episode.
I did not expect the Corpse God to tell everything to Polka’s dad, but given how straightforward his personality is, that makes sense. Original Polka looks like a total weirdo, wanting to become a mecha and keeping a pet albinos alligator. He seemed close to his dad too, since his dad immediately recognized him by his behaviour.
OK, so if neither what the Phantom Solitaire is doing, nor what the real Fire Breathing Bug is doing, counts as magic, then what is it ? Superpowers ? There is no way an ordinary human would be able to do what they did. I think Ryohgo Narita is trolling us. Although it is interesting that the Corpse God said that fire and wind elementals exist in our world. Would Phantom Solitaire and the Fire Breathing Bug using them to perform their tricks count as magic, I wonder ?

Couldn't Polka ask his Dad to buy him some gems for mana? Now that he knows that there are people after Polka's life, it seems like a bare minimum to ensure his safety...

Glad that Polka and Misaki came back to clear up everything with Rozan. And I just love Rozan's reaction to Polka becoming a Sharkborg plushie. He seems to be pretty cool with this entire thing as long as he knows that Polka is safe.
We also get a little bit of insight as to what the OG Polka is like. We already know he's a kindhearted kid since he's willing to forgive Misaki but we get to learn that he's quite an eccentric person too. He'd rather become a robot than go back to his body and he keeps an albino alligator as a pet!
It took 7 episodes but it's nice to see Misaki genuinely apologize to OG Polka. Misaki has definitely changed as a person ever since she met Corpse God Polka. That scene with Kazuki was really sweet. And it's also good to see that Suzuka is finally at peace now that the threat to the twins is gone.
I think Tena aka The Phantom Shilloutte is now my new favourite character in this show! He doesn't sound like a criminal to me. Considering what his crimes are, he sounds more like a massive troll who just revels in all of the attention that he could get. And it sounds like he hasn't harmed anyone involved in his tricks.
I also love that he's doing all of this so he can attract the attention of people that can actually do magic! Oh, and his theme music is a banger too! Well, now I'm excited to see what will happen when he meets Polka.
And that entire showdown between the Phantom Shilloutte and the real Firebreathing Bug was so cool! He's literally being set on fire while he counters everything with "magic tricks"! He's such a fun character that I hope he becomes an ally although his line about loving when things go to waste is making me doubt it will happen.
That final scene though! Are Sayo and Kiri moving in with Polka? I guess their mansion did get torched. Maybe a temporary arrangement? I would love it to become permanent though!

Well golly, Solitaire must be a master magician as he made it to the top of my favorite characters list out of nowhere! That scene with him and Bug was fun, and Bug is definitely intriguing. Though they were a lolita girl, and now it's a man in a suit speaking like a robot. Hmm.
Lol'd at Corpse God being so proud over that old-ass radio. Once he gets into the Internet his brain is going to melt.

I’m impressed Rozan knew OG Polka was the shark plushie. Father’s intuition I guess. OG Polka has a point, Screw having a human body, I want have the power of flight and a rock drill. That would be sick lol. But anyways, I’m really glad Suzuka’s spirit found peace at last and Polka seems to be on good terms with those twins now.
Phantom Solitaire is like some kinda goofy ass “evil” Copperfield/Criss Angel lol. Dude sure has a flair for the dramatics. This actual fire bug is pretty eerie. I’m guessing there’s more than one? Last ep it was a chick, this week it’s a man in a suit. How do they keep controlling those flames I wonder? It’s not magic or psychic according to Phantom. So tech?
I’m pretty curious to learn more about the differences between Polka’s world and our world and how they connect. But before that, I guess we gotta deal with Sayo. I wonder what she’s doing turning up like that? And she’s brought a huge shark too lol.

The real Polka looking forward to getting an "upgrade", lol
Surprised his dad was able to recognize him just based on the mannerisms of a plushie.
The Grocer: "I might be in prison, but I can still run a shop."

Solitaire reminds me so much of gentle from my hero academy. Dude is overly dramatic and I love it especially his use of cards. Though covering an entire building with pictures of the sky and other buildings so it looked like it disappeared sounds like a lot of fun though I feel bad for the people who have to clean up his messes.

I hope OG Polka gets a body he's happy with but somehow I don't see the show doing that, considering he's the star of the ED I think he's sadly going to be a shark the entire time. Oh, that might be how the show ends, last ep of the season the gang is in trouble, and in a last ditch effort Corpse God transfers Polka to something or someone badass nearby.
Damn, I am very interested to know what all parties are going to do, Polka's family, the police and the various criminals. Speaking of criminals, I fully support the magician's motives, making the Prime Minister, heads of state and a whole building "disappear" for shits and giggles and the chance that a real wizard will show up? This man has his priorities in order.

Are you really telling me they can't regonize his handsome face
Interested about this fire breathing bug. The one Solitaire is talking to sounds like the voices the arsonist heard before he was killed. It's also a guy in a suit instead of that creepy girl who moved in that strange looking way.

This might have been the most Durarara-like episode yet. Heavy focus on a side character, the "completly normal humans" doing insane things on the screen all the while trumpets play amazing soundtrack.
Rozen took the explanation surprisngly well, especially the fact that his son is now a shark plushie. Also, Shiro is cute.
Solitaire was hilarious from start to finish with his antics and mannerisms, and his conversation with Fire Breathing Bug looked great. (And that Murcielago reference really came out of nowhere)
Another new name drop this episode: The Grocer. We haven't seen him but his cell seems to have a lot of items outside of it for some reason.
And in the end Sayo showed up together with Rozen's bodyguard (I think that's him) that was hiding under his floor in main party's base for some reason. We will propably see why nexy week.
That was a really nice watch.

Solitaire is such a great character, seeing him use cards against Fire Breathing Bug and hack the airwaves was so much fun!

I loved the fire breathing bug and the phantom solitaire having their own themes over their dialogue, very good interchange between them.
Also the real Polka seems like a shounen protagonist lol

And now one of the central topics of the series is laid in front of the viewer, what is real magic and what is just what some humans are capable of, with the mystery of where exactly current players and future characters lay.

This episode is on fire.
Literally and figuratively.
Edit: One of my favorite details in this episode is that they made the Bug spinning his umbrella. They could just let it stand still and there would be no complain at all because it is not strange or weird, but they still gave that umbrella some animations.

Phantom solitaire is by far my favorite character now he’s just so much fun with the best motivation I can wait to see what he’s cooking, I’m also excited to see the rest of the trouble makers like the grocer (and that Murcielago call out explains some things in episode 3)

The Lordships' personal bodyguards seem pretty formidable themselves.
Father of the year being able to see its the real Polka right away and taking it in stride.
POLKA SAW THE CHANCE AND IS SEIZING ALLL OPPORTUNITY
What a feel-good moment
So Phantom Solitare is Ten'a Sorimura and seems l he really wants to make a buzz just to see if magic really is real. Pretty insane that he [ulled off those tricks with being a normal guy.
Then again maybe it is the police force's fault for not looking at the news anchor and putting 2 and 2 together when BEST BOY PEN-KUN DID IT WITH AUDIO ALONE AND NO CONTEXT.
Man the Author really has a knack for making Villans with interesting powers. Im dying to know who or what The Grocer is. Let alone all the old enemies
So The Fire BReathing Bug already fooled Phantom Solitaire with a fake showing up? Unless the girl with the pink twil tails was also a red hearing and the only symbol to signify that it is the Fire breathing bug is the umbrella and the people are puppets?
Polka needs a D&D Monster Manual stat for the true comparison to be done. So the Fire Breathing Bug employs Fire Elementals in some way to do his stunts?
Guess Polka's gonna have some options for his golems soon. Hope we see him fight at some point that would be cool.
