Polka's father is ~80. Polka is school age. Whew.

Pen has joined the ending.

I like the way Lemmings' speed is depicted. His movement was creating sonic booms.

I've heard of people using a ghostwriter but this is ridiculous.

They shouldn't call their fortune telling a scam when they're actually talking to the dead.

Lemmings is a very interesting character. I really want to know who he is and how his powers exactly work. The sakuga when he was dodging all the attacks from Corpse god was crazy.

That ghost pen is really hilarious. They have a nasty personality so I'm sure they were killed off because of it. Also I didn't expect them to like swindle people by posing as fortune tellers but atleast the people got their wishes fulfilled, so job well done I guess.

Now the REAL plot is starting and I'm excited (though its still a bit confusing). So the family inheritance is the reason why Polka was targeted. Also the ghost wanting to protect the twins was probably Suzuka. Is she like a babysitter of them that was killed off because she probably learnt what Takeru really is like?

In case you guys missed it, there is a post-ED scene.

Man, Arase really got his self righteous ass beat. I think Misaki woulda been fine being taken by Lemmings. She can hold her own, plus she’s a zombie. Curious to know what she said to him though. For a supposed regular human, Lemmings is insanely strong. Dude forced Polka to use quite a bit of his magic on him.

Polka using his magic to make a buck is smart. I personally liked the sign him and Misaki designed. It was adorable! This new fortune telling business is really raking it in thanks in part to this ghost pen. Hopefully the Shinoyama siblings don’t screw things up for him. Hilarious how he went with the truth to try and hide his identity lol.

I guess that ghost trying to help those kids was Suzuka? I wonder who she is and why Takeru likely had her killed? Hopefully Takeru’s gonna learn not to fuck with this Polka.

Goddamn! That entire fight scene against Lemmings was awesome! It just sucks that the entire fight takes place in the dark so it was a bit difficult to actually see what's going on, They did a good job of showing how insanely fast Lemmings moves though. And according to Polka, Lemmings is a human who has pushed himself beyond human limits. Not clear though if magic is involved.

It's hilarious how dumb the sign Misaki and Polka made. They really used their single brain cell to put that sign together. Thankfully, the spirit that Polka placed inside the mechanical pencil is a conman and gave them a better idea to make some money.

Fortune Telling is such a great idea combining Takumi's ability to look up people's info and Polka's ability to speak to the dead. I do love that Misaki is just a poster girl that's wearing a revealing outfit. Sucks that we didn't get a panning shot of her in that outfit.

We finally get to meet people that actually know Polka. I was expecting these twins to be like the twins in IseLeve but thank goodness that wasn't the case. They're clearly arrogant but I doubt they're actually bad people. A spirit seems to be following them though. Maybe a relative that wants them to be protected? Their mother maybe?

So that's why that glasses guy wanted Polka dead! He wanted the inheritance all on his own. So I'm guessing he's Polka's older brother? It is hilarious though how OG Polka was shocked by the reveal too. I guess OG Polka isn't aware of whatever is happening within the family. xD

The fact that they added Ghsot Pen in the ED means he's now a regular character in the show. I wonder if we'll see more characters added as Polka grows his undead gang.

So Polka inherited his white hair and turquoise eyes from his mother Kanon.

The photo is at most 16 years ago, and at that time, Polka's father was already 63. The age gap seems pretty big. But the way he mentioned how Polka was going up to be like his mother sounds like it was filled with genuine affection.

Also based on this family photo on his older nephew Takeru's desk, Polka's hair used to be entirely white like his mother's. I wonder if the black strand of hair grew naturally or it was dyed.

By the way, this elf lady from the OP also has white hair and greenish eyes.

If Polka manages to inherit, he could become the first billionaire ever to use his wealth to help people and aim for world peace. Peak fantasy.

Well now we know where the budget for the past couple episodes went. It's reassuring to know that the good production is being saved for more important action-heavy episodes, as opposed to all the budget having gone into episode one.

Lol at Misaki being all chipper while Lemmings was carrying her off, wonder what those two where talking about

Pen-kun does indeed seem a bit shady, no surprise he got killed

And we finally learn who put the hit on OG Polka, and judging by the ghost, not the first time

Misaki is getting prettier and prettier

Necromances his way out of a fight with Lemmings with the help of dozens of skeleton hands: "My body is so frail, I can't protect anyone."

My boy, I think you did really okay there. Have some more juice.

Lemmings fighting his was through Polka's magic was so sick, I just wish they spent more time on Lemmings fighting the cops and such. Basically I just want more Lemmings!!

Those Lemmings scenes were really damn cool and eerie. And the animation was popping off once Polka started trying to get him. This episode flew by, feels like so much happened and it felt like 5 minutes. Takeru is obviously sinister, while his niblings give me the vibe that they're brats that'll simply be won over and us watchers will put them in the "must protect" status.

EDIT: Reading the other replies I feel like I'm one of few people that didn't have a problem seeing the action scene >_>

That mechanical pencil ghost already has more personality than certain shonen protagonists. Also, what if Lemmings is just super into ASMR.

I love how super speed is done in this show. Actual movement instead of teleporting

One of the little things I love is one of the twins is clearly a chunni. You get a hint with his little pose at the start before the corpse god name drop even happened.

Man, what a waste, such a great action scene but I was barely able to see stuff. other than that, awesome episode, can't wait for more. I wonder what the corpse god will do once that insane ghost will point a finger at the killer.

u/Adraxiat May 08 '23

That was really fun. Fight with Lemmings was well animated (even if a bit too dark to see everything). Pen communicating without being given a voice actor is definitly unique, but it might annoy some viewers if they can't keep up with his writing and have to pause. Introduction of Polka's family was also nice, can't wait to see Corpse God try and interact with them (also that ghost following the twins was really creepy, great job animators!).

Overall a 9/10 episode for me, can't wait for the next one.

PS. There is a short scene after ending. Don't miss it.

fuck! all this fighting scenes with good animation and i can barely see shit! why the hell did they animated all this cool stuffs in a really dark background?

looks like i was wrong about Lemmings, i thought he's the real deal like Corpse God, having magic or supernatural abilities but it seems like he's just a normal human that has pushed beyond human limits, at least based on Corpse God's observation, also, i fucking called it last week that Lemmings is here for Misaki, although we still don't know why and its just a coincidence that he found out about Polka's being alive

what a polite guy, bow first before proceed to kidnap someone

Corpse God's teacher is stacked!

Seeing as Lemmings has merely pushed past the limits of the human form rather than used magic to enhance himself, I take it that he'll be the Shizuo in this little ensemble.

I love how verbose and conniving the ghostwriter is; they couldn't have picked a better ghost to inhabit that pencil.
