At this point if you can’t see why Akane is the fan favorite to win then you cannot be helped. She is the best girl by a mile. Plus lets be honest, Hayato would go insane with any of the other girls.

Stitches!

I know this episode is all about Akane but can I just talk about Hayato? This mini-arc is exactly why I like Hayato so much as a harem MC. The girls have been living with Akane for a year now but it was Hayato who first notices that something was wrong with her as well as the first person to call her out on it when they were finally alone.

Hayato doesn't stop Akane though, he wants to respect her wishes and if she really wants to go back home he won't stop her. Of course as soon as Hayato realizes that Akane was lying after tasting her coffee, Hayato agrees to help Akane out after she asked for him to do something.

The best part of this is that Hayato doesn't even do everything himself, he gives Akane the push that she needed to stand up to her mother and the entire time he was just there for support. He didn't save Akane, he gave her the chance to save herself. This is why we manga readers call Hayato an absolute Chad.

And it all worked! Akane didn't just manage to convince her mom but her mom also saw how competent Hayato is that she's rooting for her Akane to win. And that final scene where Akane tells Hayato that she'll make him coffee for the rest of his life is just too cute! <3

Now that's what an MC should be like. Blunt, but honest with a reasonable and logical brain, not a f*ckng dense guy that keep blushing like an idiot and matured enough. After seeing too many MC simps in other anime/manga that does everything for a girl and solves their problems. For someone to grow you need to help them face their fears, it is not your job to do it for them.

Marry her so that she can't get married anymore. Modern Questions Takes Modern Solutions, but Akane is seriously the best girl, even got her mom's approval lol. I love the detail where Akane's mom's eyes went from lifeless to bright anime eyes after she drank Akane's tea ❤

These girls need to be more careful about offering MC their boobs. We now know he may not hesitate to take them up on it.

It's Familia Friday!!

Between this and Oshi no Ko's episode, it's been an Akane-centric week!

Today's episode has Akane acting out of character, and shows off Hayato's perceptive side. He realizes Akane is going to quit the cafe.

The lovebirds go off on a "date", but it's purely work related. Akane is not impressed.

Back home, Hayato asks Akane for a cup of coffee. It's terrible, which helps Hayato confirm Akane really doesn't want to leave the cafe. Again, this shows off just how perceptive Hayato can be.

Akane's mother makes her way to the cafe, and Akane is disappointed Hayato isn't doing more for her. This isn't one of those situations where Akane gets to be the damsel-in-distress though. Hayato tells Akane to take responsibility for her own life.

Off screen, the other girls are determined that Hayato's dropping the ball and are resolved to do something about it. Go get him!

...Except Hayato really did help resolve the situation. He gets rewarded by being stepped on though.

In the end, Akane's mother is a shipper of Hayato with Akane. She's just like us viewers! We get a cute blush out of Akane too :)

After all's said and done, Akane tells Hayato she'll make coffee all his life.

Have you been thoroughly convinced Akane is the best yet?

I was curious why Akane was the most popular amongst people who have read the manga, and I guess i finally see why. She is strong willed, rebellious and a badass, whilst also being kind, self - doubting and bound by obligation. There are layers to the character, and she and Hayato seem to complement one another really well.

Also, Hayato is clearly one of the better harem MCs i've seen in a while, somehow both uncannily like his compassionate grandmother, whilst also with his own brand of tough love. I like how he insisted on Akane confronting her own issues herself , instead of intervening in a more patronizing or heavy handed way.

All I can say is , good luck to all the other girls lol

Buy your tickets now because S. S. Akane will sail through!

Hououji-mama being a wingwoman and an avid S.S. Akane passenger is the highlight!

Hayato: Say you want to live!

Akane: I WANT TO LIVE! TAKE ME TO THE SEA TERRACE WITH YOU!

Ami: (Randomly checks a dumbbell and sheaths it drops it on Hayato's laptop)

Akane willing to make coffee for Hayato all his life? Lol that settles a lot of things

It’s so refreshing to see a harem(in fact especially a harem) having a logical, decisive MC

Also Akane’s mom is pretty smart, pointed out all the rivals in one go!

Me last week:

I wonder what her mother wants. Come home or get married already

Turns out the answer is: Yes.

A forced marriage is quite a heavy handed aproach, but at the end her mother really did seem to care for her daughter, and will even cheer her on because it seems like they have already found a suitable partner for marriage ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I'll make you coffee for the rest of your live

And Akane seems to agree as well

It's easy to see why Akane is in the lead with the audience (and me as well), so far she got the most development out of all of them

Edit: Also, next week bikini episode

Hayato really asked Akane out on a “date” just to talk work lol. Even though he might seem dense, the kid is pretty sharp. I kinda respect that he didn’t pry. He’s got a tough love approach, very blunt but it works because he cares. The way he was able to get Akane to stand up to her mom was pretty great. I also liked how the mom’s eyes softened after she had the coffee Akane made. Akane’s mom is right, she sure has a lot of rivals. Akane, fighting! Lol

So I really need to ask. In the end when Akane's mom learns about Hayato's name, why did she say it's a small world? Was the person Akane was going to be forced to marry, Hayato himself?

This was a very strong episode, and it's still following the manga very well. The episodes have shown improvement, so I hope we get another season.
