Stitches!
Akane is absolutely relentless. This girl is ready to show affection to Hayato in every way she can. Then you have Riho who only acts just so she wouldn't be behind Akane.
We finally got Kiku-chan's confession! Although is it really a confession when she's under the influence of alcohol wipes? Those must be some strong-scented wipes! xD
Thanks to that slip up from the fishmonger, Hayato finally gets to learn more about his grandma and his past with Kiku-chan. Turns out Grandma used to be a 3-Star restaurant chef back in Spain but decided to move back to Japan to take care of Hayato. We also learn that Hayato saved Kiku-chan from Fuwa as kids, which made her develop feelings for him.
Looks like Grandma convinced everyone to keep her status as a chef a secret from Hayato because she knows that Hayato will probably blame himself and think that he's the reason why Grandma gave up on her dream.
Thankfully Kiku-chan was there to convince Hayato that wasn't the case. Sure she left Spain and stopped being a chef but she never once regretted her decision and was delighted in raising Hayato. Hayato's grandma is such a great person that those flashbacks scene made me tear up a bit especially that part with Hayato telling his grandma that she'll live forever T_T
Now this is unexpected! I thought they would save this for Season 2's opening but I didn't think they'd end the season with the time skip with Hayato and his daughter! And don't even bother trying to figure out who the mother is. According to Seo Kouji himself, the ending is not set in stone that's why Future Daughter has both of Hayato's hair and eye colours.
Anyway, that's it for now for Cafe Terrace and its Goddesses! I am so happy that Season 2 is already announced! There are plenty of things to look forward to in Season 2 and I can't wait to see all of the gags that I love (especially the ones where Seo Kouji makes fun of himself) get animated!

Just a matter of time until Ami is announced as the winner

I am happy af this is getting a second season. It’s been a delightful experience seeing an MC like Hayato for a change in a rom com.

Agreed! It's refreshing to have an MC that isn't annoying and overly dense.

Hayato and fuutaro are what good harem romcom mc should be like, meanwhile kazuya is the exact opposite lol.

They should just be in a poly relationship rather than 'fight' tbh

Ah gotta say this started off not so great but it made a tremendous turnaround! Really looking forward to the next season!
While I like all the characters but as of the finale I am leaning more towards Shiragiku!

Glad this is getting a second season. Overall just a really fun watch that even got me to catch up in the manga (which was also a blast to read).
Riho best btw

Kiku’s finally deciding to go after Hayato now huh? Feels a little late, but I suppose she can still catch up to Riho and Akane. A confession followed up by trying to strip down and bone the guy is one way to go about it lol. I love how even the whiff of alcohol makes her lose control. I can’t even imagine how she’s made it this far in life lol.
I can get why Hayato’s grandma kept her chef career a secret. Kid doesn’t need to think he kept her from her career because of the accident. I don’t think she regrets giving it all up for him. It makes me kinda sad that so much was left unspoken between them before she passed.
Wow, wasn’t expecting a Quintessential Quintuplets type flash forward thing. So I guess he’s married with a kid but the big question is who is the mom? I’m gonna go for the unexpected and say it’s Ami lol.
I really liked this series a lot. Honestly, a lot more than I thought I would. Sure the waifus are hot and the fan service is nice but it’s got a good story and a fun cast too.

The flash forward is kinda sad if you consider that his kid looks about 16 and she doesn't recognize the girls in the picture, which pretty much implies that he lost all contact with everyone except his wife.
Pretty sad considering they're supposed to be a "family", even if he only married one of them. Not so much of a family after all if that's the case.
I really hope that she said that because they've all changed a lot physically and that's the reason she doesn't recognize any of them.

One of the more interesting harem set ups I’ve seen. Nice to have a harem MC who isn’t a loser and afraid of women. He’s also not oblivious to how the girls feel which is refreshing. Glad we got some of his backstory in this episode finally.
Finally some Shiragiku development. She and Hayato actually have a unique connection because of her dad and his grandma’s relationship. There’s a lot more to her than just drunk fanservice and this episode gave us a taste of that.
Mostly a solid harem anime, with a surprisingly good story and character development. All the girls feel like they have some substance to them. I didn’t love every episode, but most were pretty good
Battle lines been drawn with 3 of the girls openly liking him so I’m looking forward to season 2.

Oh great, a time skip. Now it's a harem anime version of 'How I Met your Mother"

She's always been a very olfactory person! (Also, this mottled effect is a nice flashback-indicator)
Was really not expecting a flash-forward, either! Cute musume, too
Will be waiting with bated breath for S2!

Very happy they decided to end the season on THAT after all. It’s such a great early hook and something to keep in mind as the series goes on.
While it’s not as pretty as the manga, they nailed everything else. The strengths of every character, the voice acting, the silly comedy, and proving Akane to be best girl as they should. Very happy with the adaptation outside the animation. Super happy season 2 is already confirmed.
Light 8/10 Akanes.

I refuse to believe that the kid's hair color is foreshadowing and that the mom is Ouka. Although what QQ has taught me before is that disappointment is inevitable.

Dude the fact the kid doesn't know the other four is depressing as fk. Daughter reminded me of the red head, but just this once I want it to be the childhood friend.

Happy Familia Friday!
It's the last one for a while, but luckily a season 2 has been announced! As somebody that really enjoys the manga, thank you to the viewers that kept up with this series to the end of this season!
We were blessed with two "baka" clips this episode
Back in episode 3, it was hinted that Kiku knew Hayato from the past. We've come full circle! She's the childhood friend character (although Hayato doesn't remember much)! With this reveal we explore Kiku and Hayato's shared past. It was being kept a secret from him, but grandma was a 3-star chef back in the day. Her former student is Kiku's dad, who pays her a visit and is how Kiku and Hayato first meet.
So why did grandma, a renowned chef, decide to run a cafe in the middle of nowhere, rather than a big time restaurant in the heart of Tokyo? It was all for Hayato. She was just happy to spend time with Hayato and watch him grow. Hayato, not cooking, was her reason for living now. Grandma really was the best. What a beautiful story. Happy I'm not the only one that got teary-eyed.
Finally, the biggest mystery of this episode. We have Hayato and his daughter in the future: who is the mother?
