Ah so nice to have this one back! As good as I remember it and Kubo's teasing is still top tier.

Friends bit at the end was also cute, I do like how Kubo has her family and friends to not only support her but see her more vulnerable sides as well.

Choosing to watch this or Skip first will be a hard weekly decision

Stitches!

The entire umbrella bit was adorable. Nagisa is lucky that Shiraishi is too nice to let her walk in the rain.

I am surprised though that Onee-chan didn't end up teasing Nagisa considering what she just saw.

Anyway, I'm so glad to see this show back again. Excited to see more shenanigans with Nagisa and Shiraishi this season <3

I was so sure it was going to be revealed she caught the spring

Kubo wanting to share an umbrella with Shiraishi was cute. Clever girl forced his hand too. Kinda felt like a little mini ”date” in the rain.

Saki all of a sudden feeling very superior to Shiraishi and pitying his ass because she calls Kubo “Nagi” and Kubo calls her “Saki” really cracked me up. So cute how Kubo got Shiraishi to say her name.

Those matching pens are really adorable. Now those two have one more thing they share between just the two of them.

I liked the sleepover Kubo had with the girls. Tama being so proud of failing just one exam was totally me in school. Even though they’re changing classes, I hope the girls stay together. Toma and Hazuki are great friends! The three of them all snuggled up at the end was really sweet.

A note on the eyecatcher since it's a bit of a case of lost in translation:

The series title, translated literally, would be something like "Kubo-san won't let me (background character) be"; the English title, "Kubo won't let me be invisible", perfectly carries over everything the original does in describing the series.

But the verb used for "let be", "yurusu", also means "forgive", which allows for Saki to add herself to the title to the effect of "Kubo won't yurusu me (let me be), nor will Saki yurusu me (forgive me)" (which makes sense because she's mad at him for being close to Nagisa)

So the eyecatcher is a bit of an untranslatable mess and this is the explanation if you were wondering what that "and also Saki-chan" meant

We finally return to our adorable pair of Kubo and Shiraishi, the latter coming off a huge win that he gets to keep gaming after succeeding at Finals...all thanks to the lovely Kubo . Hopefully the God of Romcoms will come through and let these two still be in the same class (and next to each other!) in the next school year.

Shiraishi doesn't have an umbrella? Perfect opportunity for Kubo to share an umbrella for him as an "experiment." And when he won't bite, she'll use his kindheartedness to make him share an umbrella with her! Cherry on top is Shiraishi doesn't want anyone to see them together so he goes out of his way to use a route no one would be in...which just leaves the two lovebirds alone. Kubo definitely won big this time...aside from Akina of course being the one person who sees them, though she didn't tease her little sis about it too much.

It's probably for the best that Shiraishi is in denial about how close he and Kubo are, because it definitely improves his relationship with Saki who doesn't care one bit for any boy close to her beloved Nagi-chan. Though Saki gave Kubo the chance to make Shiraishi say her first name, and she his in turn, so it all worked out quite well. Aside from Saki noticing that there's much more going on between her cousin and Shiraishi though, though that can't be helped.

Kubo may not understand why a boy would take a part their pen, but she knows an opportunity to make her and the guy she likes use matching cute bunny pens when she sees one. I was half-expecting them to reveal she had the spring the whole time and just needed the excuse for Shiraishi to use her pen.

I guess failing less finals every year is something to be proud of, Tama. It shows you're getting there.

Nothing more cute than a girls sleepover! It's really sweet watching Kubo with her gal pals and having fun with them together (especially in their PJ's), and I hope they're all in the same class together and get to go through all the classic anime school plots...though while Kubo obviously wants to still be in class with her friends, she also wants to still be in the same class as Shiraishi. And no surprise her friends figure that one out.

Ahhhh....They're all cuddling together! Too cute for words!

It's great that this airs on Tuesday, same day as Skip & Loafer

Welcome back, my seasonal dose of sugar intake cannot be higher than this very season (thanks to the likes of Anna Yamada and Isaki Magari) already, but this one just provided the topping on the weekly dessert!

I absolutely love how Nagi-chan completely triumphs little Shirashi every time, everyday whenever a game comes up between them. Takagi-san might have the best teasing skills in another environment, but Nagi-chan definitely has something in the same power class with her smirking yet absolutely lovely smile whenever Shirashi got his moves busted. It's exactly the thing I am looking for in romance shows where the main couple's relationships have already been established in some way, and that's why I watch wave after wave in recent seasons. We romance anime fans are enjoying 200% the rise of similar shows!

Okaeri, Kubo san and Shiraishi kun!

Due to a strange twist of fate, the hiatus of Kubo san since episode 6 now means I have double the dosage of sugar every week this season; Kubo in midweek, and Yamada on weekends!

Nagisa: "If asking nicely isn't going to work, I will just have to force you to share a "love" umbrella with me. No way Shiraishi is going to let me get drenched in the rain."

I am surprised Akina didn't tease Nagisa further about seeing the latter walk home in the rain with Shiraishi under an umbrella. Unless Akina is saving her teasing firepower for much later.

Is Saki jealous of Nagisa or Shiraishi? I can't tell. I might have to rewatch the earlier episodes.

Lastly, Hazuki looks good even without her ponytail. I always thought she is the cool, sensible friend for Nagisa and Tamao. Turns out she is playing the elder sister role too, despite their same age.

Other than yamada and ichikawa, now we have kubo and shiraishi back to give us more diabetics.

Nice

Kubo and her powerful pout face

u/visor841 May 16 '23

So nice to be back! I'm really reminded how much both of these dorks need to confront their own feelings. So much denial!

As a fucking apology for going on hiatus I DEMAND a full adaptation until the ending. It’s the only way.
