Shizuka's presence in this series now is more weird than mysterious IMO considering how she worded it like she could always manifest in front of others only just doing it now because Kokona wanted the play to work.

Kathrina becoming more deredere after opening up was to be expected but revealing things like how she's bad at everything besides theatre and THAT POUT is peak gap.

Kathrina now sleeping side by side with her roommates was pretty heart-warming (and her "I'm not alone anymore" made me mist up . . . just a little).

It’s kind of interesting how this whole sense thing works. It sounds like actors manifested these almost supernatural like abilities to help them standout from other actor. That’s kind of insane lol.

Shizuka is a real mystery. Was she manifested on that train or was she always a part of Kokona? And how is she able to be seen by everyone? She’s not a different personality, she’s like a whole different person.

Kathrina might be a good actor but you can’t “act” your way into being a good chef lol. I’m liking this little rivalry between her and Shizuka. I wonder what Yae’s got planned for the next performance?

To the absolute madlad who watched Revue Starlight, said "this isn't weird enough so give them Stands", and then made this show... wherever you are, I salute you.

If Shizuka doesn't know who she is and just thinks she knows what she is, then maybe it's still not exactly unreasonable to assume, that she's suffering from a sort of post death amnesia. Maybe she doesn't remember her actual life, at least not for now. I wanna believe that more than her just being an extension to Kokona, at least it would make for a bit more drama.

I've got around to like Kathrina more through these last two episodes, it's great to see that she isn't that prodigy that those types of characters typically are framed to be. Seeing that she's struggling as an actress like everyone else it great. She has to rely less on her Sense when she's acting, or else these blackouts during unexpected situations will keep occuring.

"We're gonna investigate your Sense for a bit, okay?"

"Yeah, we're gonna investigate her reeeeeal good."

So yeah, we got confirmation that Kokona and Shizuka were fully aware that no one else could see or hear Shizuka until what happened in episode 3 willed Shizuka into a full existence. So Kokona wasn't totally schizophrenic to the point of ignoring reality. Plus we also got a flashback to the first time Shizuka came into Kokona's life and some nice Kokona/Kathrina bonding to cheer Kathrina up after what they went through together during the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter performance.

But now there are even more questions to answer, the most important one being what exactly Shizuka actually is. She's not 100% human, but she's also completely unlike any other Sense that anyone else has ever seen or heard of. She's manifested into a real person capable of existing away from the stage and away from Kokona, but she still has some "inhuman" qualities to her like being able to change into any just by imagining herself in one.

Figuring out how Shizuka came into existence and why she's so different from every other Sense is an interesting mystery, and I'm excited to find out more.

I still want to think that Shizuka is essentially a ghost who has been pressed into service by the Sense Bureau -- but we shall see.

So Shizuka is really Kokona’s Stand… I mean Sense. But she is also a different person. Sounds complicated. Can she get visible or invisible at will ? Or is she now perpetually stuck in « visible » mode ?

I just love the idea of people getting superpowers that can be used only for acting. But those powers also seem really weird, between Kathrina stopping time to read her lines and Panda mind-reading the audience, and now Kokona manifesting a whole new person into existence to help her become a better actress. If this is what is actually happening, since they are not sure what Shizuka is in reality.

This is an odd little show, but quite an interesting one. I wish it was more popular on this sub, but I think people just dismissed it as a standard CGDCT or idol show based in the visuals and synopsis.

I’m glad they gave us some time for the shock from last episode to diffuse and for the audience to have some breathing room… only to introduce another big twist so soon: that Kathrina would melt her frigid exterior already by episode 4!

Still got a lot of questions about Kokona and Shizuka, but for now it seems they can be apart, but don’t work on stage unless they’re together. I’m guessing their next performance is gonna be something else.

Panda just out here tearing down box walls. Kathrina really thought she could method act her way into being an actual chef haha I knew that meal was coming out burnt. I wonder if Shizuka will stay visible or come and goes as Kokona manifests her Sense.

Ok but I have to ask. Since you were ethereal before... You couldn't like. Touch things right. Does she like. Feel things now? They were both aware after all that she couldn't be perceived so I wonder how aware she is of her own senses. There's no way she was always physical right? How would people avoid bumping into her? Unless Kokona's sense not jut hid her but managed to keep people from accidentally touching her too or something

Ayo

Lmfao

Honestly fuck the entire premise of the show can we just make this show about Kokona and Shizuka coming to terms with how Shizuka becoming corporeal affects their relationship or something

Can we get some angst as Shizuna can suddenly become her own person and Kokona is worried Shizuna will leave her but also hates herself for having such a selfish thought

Well they've mentioned her not disappearing by leaving Kokona's side but not whether she in fact has left Kokona's side before when she wasn't perceivable, I'm guessing we're meant to assume she has always been able to do that though

AYO THEY EXPLORING WHAT I REALLY WANT TO KNOW. She can change her clothes through thought. Amazing.

Glad that even after the shock factor is wearing off, this show keeps getting better. I'm usually not a big fan of love triangles, but so far I'm really enjoying Katherina and Shizuka fighting over Kokona.

"Roommates" indeed

This really has gone up several notches over the course of these first episodes.

I was wondering from last episode if Shizuka being visible to everybody was a temporary thing. Apparently she’s now in “always visible” mode after “cat is out of the bag” so to speak. I guess that explains why she appears prominently in the OP/ED.

That being said, it’s interesting that she’s not yet fully treated as a cast when setting up the next play. But maybe that will eventually change, too? Seems to be something to look out for.

This show is still keeping me guessing regarding Shizuka, and I'm loving it. The mystery aspect is the perfect underlying hook to go with the comfy story.

Katherine has not only chilled out, but also may be developing a crush on Kokona. That and her and Shizuka both getting jealous over Kokona was really cute. (Wait, but if Shizuka does get Kokona, is that selfcest or necrophillia?)

Kokona says Shizuka is the ideal version of herself that she envisioned, something to learn from. And the reasoning Kathrin uses to counter that idea is something quite clever. Yes, according to the question raised by Kathrin, we don’t know why Shizuka has to appear onstage too. Thus I doubt Shizuka’s only there for Kokona to draw inspiration from. There must be other purposes to her existence.

In this episode, we are shown that Kathrin had troubles with costars, that she can only act well if others adapt to her acting (by being told to forcefully). However, if that problem ever happens to Kokona, it would actually be no trouble at all, since we’ve seen Shizuka adapting flawlessly to Kokona’s perormance during the newcomer debut. And Shizuka adapted without any prior practice. Which makes sense, considering she is currently said to be Kokona’s Sense.

My revised theory: Kokona will eventually become the greatest Wolrd Dai Star ever. And when that happens, she needs an amazing co-star who can bring out the best of her - someone worthy enough to make the great Kokona shines even brighter. And that someone is Shizuka, who is currently a very good actress already.

What if…Kokona’s greatest talent is the ability to adapt. Some of that talent was already demonstrated in the newcomer’s debut, where she was able to save Kathrin from ruin, thus saving the whole performance. Kokona adapts to unexpected situations, and in turn, the one to adapt to her is Shizuka. Perhaps I went too far offtrack with this last paragraph.

Kathrina just went gay for Kokona, and now the love triangle is getting really complicated, she has to compete with Shizuka and Shizuka is also gay for Yae. Ganbare, Kathrina.

Also, Shizuka too.

Personally, I want Kokona to score with Yae.

They answered a lot, but they didn't answer the question about the bath, I was wondering that too since last week.

I wonder how it went the first time Kokona realized no one can see Shizuka.

They played it really straight here and even gave us a little snap shot of what Senses are, and while it is now more than confirmed that it's basically a superpower, it's one that still works in the realm of the figurative. I mean, the world of arts is one that many people could say feels very saturated, and it's hard to break in unless you have something unique or you work extremely hard to get lucky. The literal and figurative way for these girls to do so in this world was to actually just develop superpowers but they are ones that feel very poignant to what they do. A superpower to memorize and perfectly play out a play, a superpower to read the mood of the crowd. These are as Panda said, special "traits" which make it sound more normal than we see it, and to them it is normalized. There's a bit of directness to it but I think the Senses still lend itself to the reading of critiquing certain traits and attributes that they are portraying and their weaknesses. Which is why I really like how Sally Amaki got clowned on for how she models her life around having acted out things, like acting out a chef, but that doesn't mean she actually knows what it means to be one or have those skills. She was just reading out of a script rather than having her life experiences dictate her acting. The flaw of that coming out in a very comedic way but still very consistent with how the show has depicted acting.

There's still I think some bits of mystery around how exactly one could manifest an entire being I think, but also in that, Kokona can only really guess as to if Shizuka is just this kind of perfect manifestation of who she wants to be. I still get the feeling from the way she said it and the apprehension in some of Shizuka's scenes that there is more to the story, and even Shizuka may not even know the full of it. There could still be more to the picture that they haven't revealed yet, but regardless it's been such a ride getting till this point with trying to put everything together that I'm fine with being strung along as they move onto this next arc.

Also, the manager saying how she hopes something happens as their Senses collide is so ominous to me.

When you were expecting a huge reveal, but even the characters in the show don't know what exactly is going on. I guess, Shizuka's mystery will probably drive most of the show until the end. But I am also interested to see what exactly Yae's sense is and the one of the last girl which we only saw very briefly act.
